I do love the baseball when in the States, and would be a big fan of (?) if I lived there. Probably Marlins, Giants or Yankees as I've been to home games.
Any thoughts Redsox?

Marlins ..... good team to follow.

Giants ..... great history but haven't one the title for over 50 years. Still, not a bad team to follow and a great city / ballpark to visit.

Yankees ...... Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo.... please don't do it. That's like supporting Man Utd.

I recently attended the Red Sox 457th (I think) in a row record breaking sell out.

I was very drunk... I believe they won 3 zip.

I went to have a word with the pitcher in the bull pen and was informed by a fat irish cop to `stop botherin' the pitcher and find yer seat sonny`.

happy days.

The Sox lost last night which means that the formerly hapless Tampa Bay Rays have won the AL East.

The Sox will have to make do with the Wild Card

Apologies. I've been to Fenway Park as well. About 1996, myself and some uni lads were coaching 'soccer' in the Freeport area. But I couldn't support the Sox as that would be like supporting Liverpool?

If I was new to baseball now I think I'd pick the Milwaukee Brewers as my team.

A great nucleus of players, superb ballpark and they're named after people who make beer !!

What more do you want ?

Yep, mid way thro' the 2007 season. The SF Giants didn't resign him at the end of the season and he didn't play at all this year,

"Shea it ain't so"........... the Mets blew it again.

The NL playoff matchups are set:-

Milwaukee Brewers v Philadelphia Phillies
Los Angeles Dodgers v Chicago Cubs

The AL situation isn't settled yet. For certain, the Boston Red Sox will face the Los Angeles Angels. However the AL Central title is still to be decided.

Today the Chicago White Sox will face the Detroit Tigers in a game that was previously cancelled due to the remnants of Hurricane Ike.

If the Chi Sox lose, the Minnesota Twins will win the AL Central and face the Tampa Bay Rays in the playoffs. If the Chi Sox win, they'll face the Twins in a one game play off on Tuesday with the winner facing the Rays.

The White Sox defeated the Twins in the play-off last night.

Therefore an all Windy City World Series is still possible.

I'm beginning to think this will happen. The meltdown of the financial system is surely the sign of approaching armageddon of which the culmination will be a White Sox v Cubs matchup

There's a fantastic cap shop opened on Corporation Street in Brum.  Shit loads of MLB caps. Priced £10-20-£30

Yeah saw that when we were there in July.   My wife was shocked to find  Pittsburgh Pirates hat in the middle of Birmingham.
