4 straight losses now, but I am keeping the faith. This IS our year.

Losing streak is over

Is that a premonition? Losing streak now at 5 with no game tonight. We go to Cincinatti on Friday, and they have just been eliminated so will be even more keen to play spoilers.

The Cubs collapse continues.

The Brew Crew did manage a win yesterday so I still think that they'll both make the playoffs.

However, if these two slip much more it'll give hope of a Wild Card sport for whichever out of the Mets and Phillies comes second in the NL East.

I'm going to see the San Francisco Giants play the Arizona Diamondbacks in not too many weeks.

Does someone clever want to educate me slightly on what sort of thing I can expect? Status, history, quality - that kind of thing.

Preferably with easy-to-understand football based similes.

If you are going to San Fran you will enjoy it,the new ballpark is a lot better than candlestick.
Don't know if Mad Dog in the Fog in SF is still run by a Villa fan,it was when I lived up there.

It was pretty good fun.

One game ahead of the Metropolitans with three to play. The runner up will be in a battle with the Brew Crew (who have the same record as the Mets) for the NL Wild Card.

Meanwhile the Sox are still just about hanging in there in the AL East. They'll need to sweep the Evil Empire this weekend AND hope that the Rays fail to win. Both of these seem unlikely, so the Sox will have to settle for the Wild Card and then play the Angels in the first round of the playoffs. The Angels are a far better team than either the Chi Sox or Twins, however the Sox have had their number in recent playoff meetings.

So there's the AL East, AL Central, NL East and NL Wild Card still up for grabs with just a couple of days left.

Its building up for a great final weekend of the regular season.
