Something tells me that the current score (17-13) is not your average baseball score.

Nope and tomorrow very well could be 1-0

Wasn't too bad, well organised you just have to accept you are going to waddle slowly along for a while from the stadium to the station.
My first and almost certainly only MLB game.  Really enjoyed it, sat next to a family from Boston who were massive fans and they were giving me all the inside info on their players.  What struck me was how well the Sox fans took defeat, no sense of anyone going home and kicking the cat.  Guess when you play 180+ games a season another win comes up reasonably quickly. Judging by the shirts I saw Yankee fans outnumbered the home team by about 5 to 1.

I thought that the jerseys were split fairly evenly.

I bailed after 7 innings today to head for a curry and an early night.

Highlight of my weekend was meeting up with my old friend, former MLB umpire Al Clark.

I spent around an hour with him watching the game with him in my section of the stadium. I had a better seat than he did :)

We bailed after the 7th too.  I'm glad I went and enjoyed the sport but it's not necessarily an experience I'd repeat.  At least not there: the queues were insane.  I never got within quarter of a mile of a merch stall.

With a bit of luck, I should be in Florida, Buffalo/Toronto, and New York during September. Unable to confirm dates at this stage, but what would be the best baseball games to go to?

There will be MLB in Tampa, Miami, Toronto and NYC during Sep.

There might be some Minor League games in Florida, Buffalo and NYC if you’re there early in the month.

Let me know when you have exact dates and I’ll point you in the right direction.

We’ll be flying into Orlando for a week so I don’t we’ll be heading south to Miami. Would Yankee Stadium provide the best experience out of NYC, Tampa and Toronto?

Between 17th-22nd Sept, it looks like NY Yankees have two 3 game series against LA Angels and Toronto Blue Jays. I won’t pretend to know anything about any of the teams, or which game of a 3 game series is best to go to? Why do they play the same teams 3 times in 3 days in the same stadium? 🤔

In a 162 game season teams play opponents in bunches of games, ie series on 2, 3 or 4 games. It cuts down in the travel.

It doesn’t matter which game you go to.

Loath that I am to recommend the Death Star, Yankee Stadium would be the best of those three, followed by Toronto.

However, the Yankees will be closing in on a playoff spot, so get a ticket will be more expensive/difficult. No problems in the other ballparks.

Farewell to Jim Bouton, dead at 80.

Author of the best baseball book of all time and one of the greatest of any genre.

Along with the Ken Burns documentary, ‘Ball Four’ was the reason for my interest in the history of the game.

Goodness I feel old. Just seen Carl Yastrzemski‘s grandson play (poorly) for the Giants against the Mets (go Mets).
