It is another way of expressing a "walk". BB = "Base on Balls" or in the full "Batter reached base on balls"

In baseball pitching, a "ball" is like a "no-ball" in cricket.

Kind of - hitting the batter is called a "hit by pitch" (HBP) or "hit batsmen" (HB) - and you get to go to first base like a walk.

Sounds like a leg bye. The BB comes after 4 balls doesn't it? (so long as they're not in the box thing).

This is getting bloody stupid now.

I was looking for the Red Sox to give me some much needed relief from the Villa debacle. However, things in Boston are looking just as bad (without the threat of relegation, of course).

If they don't sort things out soon, they'll have one pissed of Brit yelling at them from the Fenway stands at the end of  the month
