So Yankee fans, how'd today's game go ?!?

Oh yes, just a blown 6 run lead.

Meanwhile I was sat in The Cell freezing my bollocks off (85 degrees at 2pm but 42 degrees by 7pm) as the Chi Sox got their revenge for last night's hammering by beating the Blue Jays 10-2.

Tomorrow its Doc Halladay for the Jays, so the slugfests should come to an abrupt end.

what other stadiums are you going to on this trip?

Do you take photos of all of your trips?

This would make a great book.  A guy from England comes to the US for the love of baseball, and documents the trips.

watching a Yankee/Sox game is annoying.

Joe Morgan is horrible.

I know that the media LOVES the redsox and everything, and I know that the yankees are like the "bad guys", but these commentators literally think the sox can do no wrong.

It has become so trendy to be a sox fan that it is really hard to watch them play.

The one thing I'll say about Joe Morgan is that he's not as bad as Tim McCarver.

I like it that ESPN have added Steve Phillips to the Sunday Night team. I expect he has to bite his tongue whenever Jo makes one of his regular blunders.

Having said that, I met Joe in Cooperstown a few years back and he was really interesting to talk to.

Great steal of home by Jacoby

Photos of a fat bald bloke in front of various ballparks. Yep, that's what the world wants to see

Didn't I send PM you links to some photos from Minnesota last year and to the article that the Hall fo Fame did on me ?

Also, as mentioned before, I must get round to uploading to Youtube the feature that "Five" did on me a few years back.

As for the ballparks on this trip.

So far its been three games at US Cellular. Next up is three Sox @ Indians at whatever they call The Jake in Cleveland these days.

Then its back here to Chicago for three at Wrigley Field

Did enjoy the game last night. I don't mind Miller & Morgan, but that may be because I am so used to hearing them.

Remember, I've been a Sox fan since before they were good. I was told at the time that I was letting myself in for a lifetime of hurt but it turned out to be just seven years.

Its a good job that my first game wasn't at Wrigley !!

Anyhow, I was at the Sox 11th consecutive win tonight. A 3 run homer by J-Bay off K-Wood in the 9th and then (after a few dodgy moments) the Save by P-Bon.

This followed a great pitching duel between Tim "He's even older than me" Wakefield and Cliff "how the hell did he ever with a Cy Young award" Lee.

I see that the Yankees lost in Detroit (Twin towns Baghdad and Beirut), so all it good in the world.

Like a lot of Brits, I really started following baseball in 97 when Channel 5 started showing it. I chose the Red Sox to support as they seemed the US version of Villa. Great history but more likely to give a life of broken promises. Probably also helped the fac tthe Toddmeister was a Sox fan so talked about the history etc so I learned more about them than any other team.
I nearly chose the Mariners because I loved watching Griffey, Randy etc. Bizarrely, since we won the WS, I've been a much less "dedicated" fan than I was. I only now rarely check results, standings, news etc. Long gone are the days when I watched every game I could knew most of the players in each league. Still want to go to Fenway one day though. And the wankees to combust <evilgrin>

Just watched short highlights of Red Sox Indians game.  Is it unusual to see so many errors as was made by the Red Sox?

the media here in the new york tristate area (NY, NJ, CT) calls the Redsox nation "Aryan Nation", which I always manage to get a good laugh at.

It doesn't matter what team you follow, as long as you like baseball, I just think it's funny that so many people from England seem to be Sox fans.

I got my second ever foul ball tonight. A diving one handed catch of a screaming foul by David "Big Papi" Ortiz in the top of the first inning.

(Any video of me just picking the ball up as it rolled along the floor is an optical illusion !!).

After that I watched the Sox come back from 5-0 down to beat the Indians in extra innings with Jon Van Every's first career Major League Home Run and a tense save from P-Bon.

Today was the first of my three games at Wrigley.

As I've mentioned before, this is one of my least favourite ballparks. However, the Cubs seem to have at last started doing some basic maintenance. The place was a lot cleaner than I remember, it had been painted and even the restrooms were clean and rust free.

Cubs are still losing, so some things don't change
