The final of the World Baseball Classic will be between Japan and Korea That thing is still going on?!?!?! You would be pretty hard pressed to find this final game on TV. What's it going to be on? ESPN 6?

I think that the semi's & final (won by Japan in extra innings) were shown on ESPN itself. Not only that, ESPN's frontline announcers were used.

How did Scotland get on? Glasgow born Bobby Thomson would have been their star player but he's 85 now. He was probably Britain's finest baseball player. However, Exeter born Henry Chadwick is probably the most important Brit in the sport's history.

Been a Red Sox fan since the early 90s. I will get to Fenway one day, dammit!

Been a Red Sox fan since the early 90s. I will get to Fenway one day, dammit! Its well worth the effort PWS. THEEEEEE greatest sporting venue of them all Fenway was the first ballpark I went to (back in 1997). Due to a cock up by the ticket booth (yep, back then you could just turn up and pay on the door) my seat location was moved to row 5, right behind home plate. I was closer to the batter than the pitcher was. I'll be at Fenway for 10 games in July. The first of those games will be the 200th Major League game that I've attended.

I live 30 minutes or less from Yankee stadium, Ihave had various season ticket packages over the last 5 years, and you have still probably been to more baseball games than I have... Are you going to check out the new Yankee stadium when you come across? I have 4 games planned there as of now, and I am sure I will go more once the initial "newness" of the stadium wears off and people are more willing to sell tickets at a reasonable price. Probably spend quite a few games at Stan's Sports Bar across the street from the stadium...

I won't get to the new "Death Star" this season. The travel company I sometimes use wanted me to come over for a NYC/Cooperstown combo but I couldn't seem to make the flights and finances work. I've been to Stan's a few times as well. I really like that row of shops and bars underneath the traintracks.

Its 5 April 2009 and its opening day of the 2009 Major League Baseball season.
The first game is the Atlanta Braves @Philadelphia Phillies (live on Setanta and t'interweb but I don't think there's any terrestrial coverage)
So its time for the pre-season predictions...........
AL East - Rays AL Central - Indians AL West - Angels AL Wild Card - Red Sox
NL East - Mets NL Central - Cubs NL West - Dodgers NL Wild Card - Phillies
World Series - Dodgers over Indians

I think that I already need to take back may "Indians in The Series" prediction
Also, is anyone using mlb.com for video ?
Their new player is sh1t, a real step backwards
Just watched Mets @ Reds on ESPNAmerica
That's exactly what Omar had planned when he signed Santana, Putz & K-Rod. I can't see them having as many late inning meltdowns this season.
