Nigel Spink has a place in Villa legend. At his best he was stupendous, and I was nearly lynched at Millwall once when I suggested to the booing boneheads that they'd never, ever again have a European Cup winner in their side...

But I remember some awful performances. Great goalkeeping is about consistency but Spinky hit terrible lows at times.

Maybe I'm being unfair, wouldn't be the first time

Agreed

I was just too scared to include Spink on my list for fear of being lynched.

can we ignore this post and use my other one? I forgot to include Postma in this poll and didn't know how to edit it properly

Who was it came on when Oakes got sent off at Blackburn and looked terrified every time the ball came near?

That was Adam Rachel. That was the only game he played for Villa wasn't it?

 Yep, Adam Rachel.

A truely classic "rabbit in the headlights" performance, but to be fair he made a couple of sharp saves in the match.

He's still at Moor Green I believe.

Last seen between the sticks for the mighty Moor Green.

Crikey, I'd forgotten that!
It truly was an awful display from Platty, he looked like a tiny little boy between the posts.

Adam Rachel looked quite scary without his teeth in, Villa have done quite well for keepers over the years, it has to be Enckelman though for obvious reasons.

I met Neil Cox in a Southampton night club after his spell in the sticks, I told him he had found his position and his reply was "I'm boloxed I am", I know all the stars me.

That Soton game was the fancy dress pitch invasion, I believe the Police are still looking for a Mr. Batman for various crimes.

I partially forgive Enkleman for that howler 'cos it was as much a bad refereeing descision as it was a clanger dropped.  That goal should never have stood.

Calamity James was the worst keeper I have ever seen for the villa. The only  England shirt that ****** should have ever worn was the one he brought at JJB Sports.

Why wasn't Jim "The boot" Coombes included in that list?
