Really sad and at 62 far too young. Thats Sid and Gibbo with Dementia and Brendan Ormbsy is also very ill, from the 1982 squad.

Very sad news. Yet again a footballer of that era has this problem

Years ago, during the 32Red days I played alongside Colin in a friendly game. He was excellent fun and a lovely fella.
I hope he is well looked after.

Ten years ago when the Villa Legends arrived in Galway for a memorial match for the late Eamonn Deacy, at the reception later in the evening it was Colin Gibson that did most of the niceties and anecdotes from the podium.  As I recall he was extremely articulate as I'm sure Get Regan and Eamonn of this parish will attest to.  It's so hard to accept that this disease can destroy a mind as harshly as it does.  Stay well Colin.
