West Ham at home in 1976, 3-0, setting us up for the wonderful football that we'd see at Villa Park that season.

Best was Sheffield Wednesday away under Atkinson. I fucking loved that side.Worst was losing 3-0 at home to Spurs in 86-7. Fuck me, that was depressing. We looked relegated after one match.

I still think the Champions of England losing at home to Notts County opening game takes some beating. That the Champions of Europe then got twatted a year later at home to Sunderland showed that nothing is beyond the Villa!
