I think KEA's been fine the last couple of matches. He's absolutely worn out by 60 minutes and I think that shows up how much effort he's putting into the cause. Also, his passing was a bit off against Baggies, but in the first half at Liverpool I thought he was as incisive as he's ever been in a Villa shirt.

I'm finding some of the opinions on Westwood puzzling, as anyone who has to play in a midfield containing Karim El Ahmadi should be cut a hell of a lot of slack.

To be fair to KEA, he put a shift in on Wednesday, I thought he worked very hard

Paulie mate, I went, and whilst he worked hard he was basically fucking useless. He absolutely kills us in there, I'm all for giving players time but in 18 months I can honestly say I've never seen him have a good game.

I'm all for running hard too, but if you give the ball away nearly every time you have it, and if you barely get a tackle in, it's a lot of energy expended for nought. They overran us at times in midfield, as a lot of teams do. Largely because at times, it looks like Delph is playing on his own in there.

I thought the guy came from the crowd to celebrate with Lambert who entered into the spirit of it and then ushered him back to his seat as did a steward.

That is how I saw it aswell. Judge for yourself:

makes me laugh , what was the guy trying to do , mount him .

I dont think KEA or Westwood have been good enough this season but If I had to keep one  , it would be Westwood  . Sell KEA to Bolton , hes that level .

Oh, just for clarity, don't get me wrong, I think his contributions have been woefully poor on the whole, and he usually offers next to nothing to the midfield beyond slouching around trying to look like a creative midfielder - he's proved to be a really poor signing.

I do, though, think he at least ran around a lot on Wednesday, which is more than he usually does.

Even though we won, it was a bit worrying to see the game bypass our midfield so regularly. Poor pass, lose possession, watch them go straight past us in the middle, on a loop for much of the game.

That last paragraph could apply to almost every local derby I have ever watched us play.

It was comical at times, periods where neither team could keep the ball for more than 5 seconds without misplacing a pass or being caught in possession yet they somehow managed to conjure up 7 goals. Probably not one to over analyse or read too much into, just enjoy the madness of it all.

I thought the midfield was extremely compacted in general with them pushing up a bit more, there wasn't much time on the ball for anyone.

The defences contributed to that in large part. There was some stunning defensive shitness on show.

I for one won't forget Lugano for a long time. The most inept performance I've seen in ages.

I think he's dreadful aswell. Always where the ball's just been. He is supposed to be one of the experienced heads that Lambert keeps talking about but he certainly doesn't lead by example. Runs around but no composure at all.

Amazing call eastie!

any takers on the final score? You have to think both defences will take a shot to the ear but I reckon 5-4 to us

4-3 villa win same as in 83 when we were 3-3 at half time , great to watch though and long overdue entertainment for our fans.
Attacking the holte i fancy  benteke to notch the winner.
