Much as I love SGT, look at the following which is 02/03's activity:

Boulding
Kinsella
Leonhardsen
De La Cruz
Johnsen

I remember reading that SGT was reading through the programme when we played Spurs and noticed that Leohardsen on the squad list. He thought to himself that if he isn't playing for Spurs then he should sign him.

Mark Delaney £250,000      what a signing , compared to the Steve Stone one at the same time.

Steve Stone didn't really work out at villa.
SS, like many we've signed over the years, always looked better for the previous team than he did for us. Two other good examples were Curcic and Thomson who both played for Bolton (IIRC) but were gash for us.

Look at season 03-04: much as it pains me compliment O'Dreary about anything, that year he bought in four solid (if unspectacular) players through the team: Solano, McCann, Laursen and Sorensen. All of these were bang-on requirements at the time and did pretty well, really.
We could certainly do with the equivalent outfield players right now.

What surprises me about this table is, whenever the club have spent more than they made in a season, the aggregate total is shown in black.
But when they've sold more than they have spent, it's shown in red.

But my problem is, I thought that if a club goes 'into the red' it's because they've lived beyond their means and spent more...you get the idea but that's what I've been working on! It's a bit of a facer to find that somebody else is working on another system entirely.

Whose side is the compiler on? And is this the reason I've never got the hang of accounts?
