Is it just me who thought it was funny ?

Lets be honest it was hardly a "Hayemaker" was it ?

Joey Barton is the sort of player like Savage that you hate if he plays for any other team than your own.

In the game against the jardies him and Nolan ran the game and we had no answer, result,we got tonked.

It was the sort of thing you see in a school playground and not a knockout punch a la Tyson

When I think of Joey Barton, I always think of Begbie in Trainspotting.

I beg to differ.

A "Hayemaker"(sic) is not an effective punch at all, and you would rarely if ever see an accomplished  fighter like Tyson throw such a punch.

A short arm dig into the rib cage with straightened fingers by somebody who knows what they are doing, on the other hand, can be very effective indeed.

As much as Savage is a nob, i just can't see the comparison with Barton.

To my knowledge, Savage has never hit a teammate to the ground from behind, then proceeded to hit him while on the ground.

Savage has never beat up a drunken defenceless child.

Savage has never risked a teammates eyesight.
