He's got plenty of skill, but not a great deal of heart to go with it. To be fair to him, his body tends to let him down a lot and that's clearly had an influence on the way he plays. If I got injured as easily as him, I wouldn't exactly be flying into tackles either.*

I think he played through a pretty bad knee issue at the back end of our CL qualifying season through necessity and the long term effect was him losing a bit of pace, and quite a lot of the confidence he had built up. For 12 months he was unplayable much of the time. That version of him, I will treasure and miss. The one since, that can’t run, wouldn’t chase a simple pass down the touchline or would fling his arms up and give up on the first sign of adversity, not so much.

Always liked him, even when he was useless I just think he's fun. Good fee for us - good player for them. And he'll be playing more at last.  So, good all round.

Agree with all of this.  Think everyone wins.  Had been thinking before - he'd be a decent signing for Hull.  £12m doesn't get you an awful lot at the moment, and I'd take Leon Bailey over the similarly-priced Lewis Dobbin in the Premier League any day of the week. And it's a good deal for us too - I'd expected him to end up going out on loan for the rest of his contract then leaving on a free transfer. Leon will be much better off playing regularly than hanging around our bench.
