Has anyone got a good picture of what is there at the moment?  Honestly, I don't think it will be that noticeable compared to what is already there once complete.

But yeah, we aint fillng in that corner any time soon.

I'm not sure about that, it looks like the sort of work that'll pay for itself in a year or 2 so I doubt it's an indication of much beyond us wanting to push the capacity as high as we can in the short-term ahead of the euros and then see where things are after that.
Yeah, agree there. None of the stuff we’re doing is *so* expensive that it won’t pay for itself pretty quickly. And as has been said before, part of the character of Villa Park is that it’s a bit make-do-and-mend, each of the stands has a distinct character - not some homogenous bowl.

The capacity should be about 45,000 with this and the Trinity re-profiling.

It's a shame we'll be losing most of the view of the trees between the Holte and Trinity.

Which is why it was odd we didn't go with a bigger North Stand of 13000 so that we could avoid having to do lose that unique view for the sake of a few hundred seats.

I’m not deliberately being a dick but why are we protecting a view of trees when there’s a football match to watch.

They need to close up that gap, it’s dangerous IMO. You could be hit by Mayo, Muatard or Ketchup

Was well known back in the day as the gap for those watching from Aston Hall when the ground was sold out!

No, it isn't.

There's a famous Terry Weir photo, I think of the Ipswich league game in '81 with folk locked out of a full VP, on the hill catching a glimpse.

I was on "the hill" for that game, whilst my dad managed to get into The Holte End. When the gates opened 15 minutes before the end, I took my place on The Holte next to my dad to see the final 2 goals of the game.

That gap also brings in a pretty significant draught & driving rain during the worst weather of the season. In my old seat I’d forsake the view of the trees for a bit of shelter from the elements tbh!

Arse want to expand The Emirates, or alter the seating plan, a bit like is happening at Villa.

Walking past the Holte I did wonder if they considered another Tier on there , there is space behind

Not sure the view would be great, but they could make extra money by allowing climbers to use it as an alternative to Mount Everest when the weather’s bad over in Nepal.
