Rugby Town 0-0 Gornal Athletic.

What a fantastic match and day out, cracking club and bar at Rugby. Gornal unlucky not to come away with the win, hitting the crossbar in injury time and told by a couple of people at that end of the ground that it was over the line.

Enjoyed the day thoroughly, I didn't really have time to socialise though. I thought Gornal gave a great account of themselves although there is the slight feeling that their chance may have come and gone. Never the less I shall be at Garden Walk on Tuesday, rather that than watching the latest chapter of Frank Lampard's ever disapointing international career.

Sadly I have to be up for work early doors on Wednesday so will be unable to attend the replay.

Hopefully Gornal will have some players back from injury, to say that was a makeshift back four would be an understatement!

Gornal won the replay 4-3. Sounded a fantastic match.

Local radio picked the best time to give the Gornal chairman a call to see how the game was going -

The reply at Gornal was, I have to say, one of the best games I have been to in a long time for many reasons.

The players cared.
The players gave 100%
It was £4 to get in
You could drink on the TERRACE
The 105 fans all had a great time without any sniff of trouble
The game was all about football,  didnt have to kick off at a time to please Sky.
