Yes quality coaching, another manager might be able to sort this issue out and make it work to our advantage. Instead we just have Ash getting robbed of the ball all the time and falling over.

Only 5 players had more assists in the PL than Ashley last season.

Imagine how many more assists he'd have if he didn't try to beat the defender for the fourth time in a row and put a ball in earlier? Millionz.

Or perhaps he isn't putting the ball in earlier as he's waiting for players to get into the box.

I think it's his free kicks that he needs to work on. Most of them were woeful last season.

His crossing is getting better, although sometimes when he's in a position to knock the ball across the face of the goal, he ends up crossing it over eveyones head. It's something he needs to work on, but without doubt, he set up a lot of our goals last season.

Maybe noone is bothering to get in the box because they know it is unlikley he will beat his man.

I don't think they would be in the team for long if they took that attitude.

Gabby survives by moving in the box for a cross once every 90 minutes Dante so they have proved to stay in the team perfectly well.

That's a valid point, actually.

One of the things I really don't want to be seeing again if at all possible is the wingers breaking forward and Heskey lumbering up the pitch at the speed of a glacier.

I also think sometimes Gabby could do with a rocket up the arse in terms of making himself availabe / running into space, and he's not the only one.
