Sod width, creativity and pace as we're banging in goals like they're going out of fashion.
-
Hmmm at least bench is now a lot stronger.
-
That does not look particularly great. We need to be so much better than we have been.
-
I’ll predict it now 1-0 down after 70 minutes Everton close up shop subs make nooooooooo impact. Joke of a line up.
-
Not convinced. Let’s see how it goes…
-
Here's hoping Emi B and Lamare have good games.
-
Ok with Bogarde, not so much Buendia.
Elliot should have started, Emery seems timid to throw people in.
-
It's pretty much what I'd have gone for.
-
That’s a very strong bench.
-
It's pretty much what I'd have gone for.
Why wouldn’t you have gone with Elliott?
-
Here's hoping Emi B and Lamare have good games.
Buendia vs Everton is a bit like Sarr vs us isn't he? Seems to do well against them.
Other than that, the lineup is more of the same plodding walking football that creates the square root of jack shit. Sigh.
-
Midfield looks weak without Boubacar but can't be helped I guess.
Bench looks a lot stronger, I think we'll need them after Everton going one up early in the second half then shutting up shop.
-
He never really understood Emery’s reluctance to throw good players in from the start. I get the whole structure, system etc. but good players are good players. Bogarde is a decent no nonsense player. But he’s not a starting PL option when you look at what’s on our bench. Buendia was the only player vs Palace who came away with any kind of credit for his performance so less issue there. But in reality he’s a squad player too. Anyway, we have options on the bench now and in a week or two, Kamara, Onana, Barkley hopefully will be back also.
-
I know Emery doesn't like negativity but thats a very Conservative starting team. All those attacking players we have and we start with McGinn and Buendia in forward positions.
Yes we have a strong bench but I would rather be proactive rather than reactive.
-
It’s a conservative line up to stop them from playing, keep it tight and hit on the counter or win it late on. It’s not a go for it line up for a team that needs to go for it. Scoring a goal will be useful.
-
I don't understand the line-up. I can't help but shake the feeling that the Emery of 2023 would not have selected that team. Why the defensive turn?
-
It's pretty much what I'd have gone for.
Why wouldn’t you have gone with Elliott?
I'd have gone with Buendia, as he finished the game against Palace well. Bring Elliott on second half if it isn't working.
-
It’s a conservative line up to stop them from playing, keep it tight and hit on the counter or win it late on. It’s not a go for it line up for a team that needs to go for it. Scoring a goal will be useful.
Yeah which is great until we concede a goal with Evertons very first attack and then they sit back and we cant break them down and then they score again.
Could we just once really go for it and then sit back and counter? We certainly have better players than most teams we just don't utilise them.
-
I can’t help thinking that Malen and Guessand will turn out to be expensive mistakes.
-
It’s harsh on him, but when I see Buendia in the squad, let alone first 11, I can’t help but sigh. Kamara still out. Again, sigh.
Anyway, cmon Villa.
-
The only thing I can say about that line up is that Buendia is their nemesis.
-
7 players from Emerys first game three years ago in the starting line up. Something about that is not right.
-
What we desperately need is an early goal.
-
What we desperately need is an early goal.
And thats not the line up that screams early goal.
-
Hopefully Bogarde's more conservative positioning will free Tielemans up a bit.
-
Poor team selected
-
Keep it tight & bring on the subs to win the game.
Or
Everton score from their first attack & we spend 80 mins of possession football.
It's interesting that he seems to have lost faith with Torres.
-
Buendia earned a start with his pre season performances. Let's give him a chance. Go for it little Emi.
-
7 players from Emerys first game three years ago in the starting line up. Something about that is not right.
It’s called our transfer activity.
No pace to hit them on the counter so expect we will try and dominate possession, if we don’t control the game it could be a long afternoon.
-
Can anyone assist with where a person might take a gander at the game please?
-
It's pretty much what I'd have gone for.
Me too, it's conservative don't get me wrong but we have been a mess defensively so far. Solid shape about us, Bogarde does give us legs in midfield anyway and Buendia is rewarded for a decent cameo v Palace. Digne was always going to start against his old team. Think McGinn can and should cause Garner, out of position at left back, a lot of problems. Will help keep Grealish in check too on that side.
Lots of options on the bench to change things with Maatsen, Elliot and Sancho. Our bench is far stronger than theirs. Can shift Rogers in off left or McGinn inside if we need to. First half unlikely to be one for the purists! That Everton team, Grealish aside, looks championship level on paper but need to match them physically to start with.
Dirty 0-1 win or 1-2 will do!
-
What an absolutely negative line up!
Perhaps the new players aren't up to the 'walking' football that has been introduced!
It is all very well having a strong bench but when you are already losing (as we will be) it is just so difficult to change the game!
Going to be painful to watch but lets hope for the best!
-
I’m hoping the mental side of the club is more settled following the transfer window shutting. While we got some good players in by the end it was a disaster in how it unsettled so many players in our squad. Let’s hope there is a calm now and everyone just does their job. Not sure about the line up but if we stick to the task there is enough in that group to get a much needed result.
-
I don't get the reluctance to throw players in when lots of other clubs do. Hope for the best but fearing another dull performance.
-
You can guarantee if we had signed Grealish on loan he wouldn't have started a game yet.
Rogers played well for England because he had pace around him giving him space, Playing McGinn on the right just doesn't work.
Emery is the best Manager we've had in ages and he gets a pass so far for hes done for us but I do wonder why we start so negative in games.
-
What a negative starting line up!
I dont know what I was expecting but I didnt expect to see none of the attacking players starting. Guessand or Malen would have made much more sense than emi B or mcginn. Even if it was only one of the two as SJM does have his plus sides in a game like today.
-
3 former Villans for them. I’d bet at least one of them scores.
-
I wouldn't mind betting that Grealish gets Cash sent off today.
-
Look at the Everton team and it is pretty poor , why we have gone so negative.
If we can’t beat a team with 4 good players then we have a big problem.
-
Seems very conservative...
-
If we can't create and score at least one today against Keane and Tarkowski then we need shooting...but we'll miss.
-
Can anyone assist with where a person might take a gander at the game please?
If anyone could furnish me as well I would be grateful.
-

I have my trunks
-
Thats such a lame starting line up. So disappointed in that line up considering how bad we have looked in last few games with neither elliot or sancho starting
-
Thats such a lams starting line up
Yes, it's very woolly.
-

Baaaing a disaster, we might get something here.

Guessand was hooked at half time the last day and Malen might aswell have been.
The big call was whether to bring Elliot in on the right but can see why it looks like he is going with McGinn out there. McGinn probably only has 60-70 mins in him today after the Scotland games so there will be changes.
-
I don’t know why we bother buying players, they never get a game!!
-
Hopefully Bogarde means 5 at the back.

I only said one of those too because we know Emery is allergic to playing players until they have been at the club for 3 years.
Great manager but im starting to think hes losing the plot.
-
Trickle would be appreciated please.
-
Hopefully Bogarde means 5 at the back.
Hopefully you SHUT UP 😡😡😡
-

Yes, it's very woolly.

I bet DC is feeling a bit sheepish now.

Me too please, thanks.

I'm going to feel a bit sheepish and have come back on with my tail between my legs if this line up proves me wrong.
-
We're either gonna smash this lot or we'll struggle to score.
-
I don’t know why we bother buying players, they never get a game!!
Sancho was never going to start. Been in exile all summer at Man. United so his match fitness for start of games won't be what we need it to be. I think the plan is he starts at Brentford.
I am however very disappointed we're not starting Elliott. He has been around the Liverpool squad, played in the community shield (on top of under 21s tournament in June/early July) and has been training at Bodymoor the last two weeks so not to put him in ahead of player we've been trying to sell for last 18 months sums up the muddled thinking we've had lately.
Saying that Buendia does have a ridiculously good scoring record v Everton!
I can see this being the same as Brentford if not worse. Starting at snail pace, conceding then we have plenty of possession but not much pace to open them up and then we concede another in the second half.
-
Saying all that though...does anyone know of any workable rivers in the local area.....
-

Baa joke clampy 🙂

Me too please, thanks.
I’d love to hear a small river flowing :)
-
Me too please
-
Fuck off Everton
-
Yes could do with a swim.
-
And me please. Ta muchly.
-
Bogarde has probably pwn'd Tim Iroboonam plenty of times on Bodymoor Heath. And Buendia scores for fun against this lot. Piece of piss.
-
We have so much pace on the bench dnt get why they are all on there.
Hopefully this is all part of emerys master plan
-
this referee is a ****** - he'll send one of ours off today
-
Close.
-
Trickle would be appreciated please.
Me too please, thanks.
I’d love to hear a small river flowing :)
Word game....Lightning (____) rhymes with bike. I'm coming (___) Dianna Ross song. DOT The informal contraction of ( I am ). There's your site for stream.
-
We have so much pace on the bench dnt get why they are all on there.
Hopefully this is all part of emerys master plan
Guessand got a chance against Palace and wss poor, as was Malen. Sancho not match fit. Elliott not renowned for his pace.
-
FTF.
-
Tyrone possibly coming off
-
Should he 1-0
-

Hopefully this is all part of emerys master plan
Guessand got a chance against Palace and wss poor, as was Malen. Sancho not match fit. Elliott not renowned for his pace.
But the thing is so was mcginn youri and ollie
That was most of their first starts
-
Me too please
And me!

They're mainstays of the team, though. They can be dropped, but replacements have to earn their place. They haven't done so or are not yet fit to try.
-
Tyrone carries on. Hopefully it's not another case of doing more damage.
-
Any chance of a small river please?
-
Fuck me, stop trying to gift them a goal.
-
Anyone got a stream?
-
It’s what we do now. I was saying this throughout pre season. We having become so careless on the ball. Especially in our third. I don’t know how that’s happened because it never used be this way, or this bad.
-
Buffstreams gets taken out of commission (worked like a dream for matches last two seasons) and we suddenly turn to s***, co-incidence?
Would appreciate any river suggestions aswell.
-
This could be painful. What has happened to us?
-
All over us according to Sherwood.
-
Once again we have set up too deep. Inviting pressure. It will change once they score and we will play 75 min searching for a goal against the low block with 80% possession and 2 shots on goal, maybe 1 on target.
-
They've had 3 or 4 good chances already, we've barely been in their half.
-
I think Unai has lost confidence and it’s translating through. We desperately need a goal to start getting belief back.
-
Teams have just totally worked out how to play us and unfortunately Mr Emery doesn’t seem to know how to change it.
-
This could be painful. What has happened to us?
Given how the individual players did over the international break, the finger has to point to our system and tactics. They simply don't work right now.
-
We look devoid of ideas. Ponderous.
-
I think Unai has lost confidence and it’s translating through. We desperately need a goal to start getting belief back.
I’m starting to think that too. We used to play much more on the front foot. Now it’s all very timid and passive. I’m starting to dislike watching us right now
-
We have been at our best under Unai when we’ve attacked.
-
Close there.
-
It's nothing like the first two years of Emery were.
-
I think Unai has lost confidence and it’s translating through. We desperately need a goal to start getting belief back.
He's said in press conferences recently the main aim is to get to half time at 0-0 and then try to step things up in second halves.
Not much good if you're conceding early though like v Brentford and Palace and then having to chase a game.
Why the mindset has changed so much from what we were doing in 2023 only he can answer. I could understand it more in November/December when we're deep with european games but we've just started the season with most players having a good break.
-
The only positive so far is they can't finish.
-
It's nothing like the first two years of Emery were.
2023 was just amazing really when you look at the results and performances. That home game v Man. City was the peak of what Emery management can produce in a 90 minutes. Also had games like 6-1 v Brighton when we were 3-0 up in 25 minutes.
That all seems like 20 years ago and I find it hard to think we can reach those same heights again without major squad surgery.
-
Slow and a bit more slow, and back and some more slow and a little slow again. Evolve the tactics man. When Glasner kept saying everyone knows how Emery plays then it should be a signal to tweak the system a touch.
-
The aim should be to 3 up and coasting at half time.
-
More Everton chances.
-
We have been at our best under Unai when we’ve attacked.
Indeed. This defensive mode of ours isn't even that, we get opened up all too regularly, even by such things as simple long balls.
-
Close for them again.
-
Martinez our MOTM so far.
-
No suprise to me im afraid. Second best at the moment
-
Yet again, this is wank.
-
I’m not watching this today as on Daddy day care. The first 3 games were horrific enough too… and by the sounds of it, we sound utterly shite again.
-
The only positive so far is they can't finish.
When we get a game against a good team they will.
-
Grealish destroying us. Some save there
Digne looks finished I'm sorry to say
-
Yet again, this is wank.
Wanks are enjoyable. This is far from it.
-
We ain’t keeping them out playing like this for much longer
-
One plus point: Emi Martinez is playing like his old self.
-
We're on the way down for the first time since that 10 game winning run, barring Gerrard, I'm afraid. It's really obvious. Everton are better than us at the moment. It was clear before kick off and it's even clearer now.
-
Foul throw ffs. This is comically shit.
-
The shorts look nice though
-
Yet again, this is wank.
Wanks are enjoyable. This is far from it.
Tis true.
-
We are doing our best to stay the only team in the 4 professional divisions in England not to score a goal this season.
-
3 games without a goal and 20 mins in we don't look like scoring here either. WTF has happened? Yes last season was a slight drop off in points but the performances are just toss so far here.
-
Foul throw ffs. This is comically shit.
I prefer your SCORCHIO! posts.
-
A big downside to Everton having a new ground is there's another 10,000 screeching for everything.
-
Have we switched to 3 x CBs?
-
Proof of how our players' minds seem to be scrambled - a punt down the middle between Mings and Konsa beate them both and goes to Beto. Normally that's bread and butter to our favourite centre back pairing. There's something so horribly off about everything we do.
-
We look crap
-
No idea who it is on commentary but he's a fucking moron.
-
A shot!!
-
Martinez been motm so far
-
Our best shot of the season from Buendia.
-
Foul throw ffs. This is comically shit.
I prefer your SCORCHIO! posts.
He's probably forgotten how to spell it
-
Foul throw ffs. This is comically shit.
I prefer your SCORCHIO! posts.
The machine is broken.
-
This is absolutely fucking shit so far. Pretty much like the whole season so far.
-
Boring, boring, Villa.
-
Slowly starting to get a bit of a foothold in the game - of course this will obviously mean they score soon
-
Slowly starting to get a bit of a foothold in the game - of course this will obviously mean they score soon
Familiar pattern isn't it.
-
A shot!!
SHOTCACHIOOOOOOOOO
-
We’ve become John Gregory’s nil Aston Villa.
-
I'm uncomfortably numb
-
A shot!!
SHOTCACHIOOOOOOOOO
I thought we'd scored when i refreshed and saw that.
-
Our playing out from the back is particularly shite today…..more so than normal.
-
It's too methodical. Emery keeps saying, "structure" but its rigid as fuck and I think now been worked out by 90% of the league.
-
0.04 xg so far.
-
Our playing out from the back is particularly shite today…..more so than normal.
Midfield hiding not helping. Need Digne off anyway.
-
We just look so low on confidence as soon as we get there the half way line. And our midfield just seems to not function
-
Jack is owning Cash. Corner for them.
-
0.04 xg so far.
For the season
-
Bloke scores on his debut for Newcastle, this starting new signings will never catch on.
-
Close for them again.
-
Grealish best player on pitch - and some didnt want him back. He would get in this current team i think
Pep really fucked his career up
-
why are we so shit at keeping control of the ball, when our whole thing is 'control'
-
WTF have they been doing for the last two weeks? Playing Golf?
-
We need to find a new ‘thing’ because this ‘thing’ we usually do is not working any more.
-
Worried that Digne beginning to look like he does not have legs at this level
-
Jack is owning Cash. Corner for them.
Cash isn't the problem. McGinn is giving no support at all ahead of him. Might aswell have Elliot there
-
It's too methodical. Emery keeps saying, "structure" but its rigid as fuck and I think now been worked out by 90% of the league.
correct. The team set-up looked cautious, to say the least, and there is no real out-ball. Emery seemed to be scared to take the initiative and get on the offensive.
I suppose he's waiting for Everton to run out of ideas... good luck with that.
-
WTF have they been doing for the last two weeks? Playing Golf?
Trying to replicate the last three league performances it seems
-
I don't like it when we play in claret shorts because it looks like we are wearing pyjamas - and it's certainly been a very dozy performance so far.
-
Ref isn't giving Emi much protection from the lumbering twat of a right back who's all over him every corner.
-
We're not ready for the season. That's on the coaching staff.
-
Cash booked so he'll be off at half time.
-
Jack is owning Cash. Corner for them.
Cash isn't the problem. McGinn is giving no support at all ahead of him. Might aswell have Elliot there
Well until now, that's the old Matty Rash. Idiot
-
Has to be said that this is utterly shit so far. Gerrard levels of shit.
-
why are we so shit at keeping control of the ball, when our whole thing is 'control'
10 puppies chasing a balloon is what it looks like.
Cash now on a yellow I think.
-
Why the fuck has Emery become so negative and dull? This never used to be how we played. We have too many really good players to be set up and playing this way.
-
We are done guys!
We look awful, Emery looks clueless of how to change it.
I dont know what happened over the summer but it looks like its going to cost us bigtime
-
Will we stay up?
-
Just smacks of the whole club feeling sorry for ourselves over PSR.
Players constantly mentioning it in interviews really isn't helping.
-
Just smacks of the whole club feeling sorry for ourselves over VAR.
Players constantly mentioning it in interviews really isn't helping.
I mean I know we should’ve been given that goal at old Trafford but that’s pushing it a bit.
-
Buendia getting a bit more into it. We have got more competitive anyway. Not exactly stellar play but mixing it at least.
-

I thinks its true. Too many players not standing up to the challenge at the moment.
-
There's space out there for a Guessand, Malen, Elliot or dare I say it a Sancho to create something.
-
Buendia the only reasonably bright outfield spot so far.
-
What's going on? These players played well in the international break so they're not out of form.
-
Had a chance to break there and drive at them whilst they were in a bit of disarray….no, slowed it down and let them all get back into position.
-
Totally clueless when we have possession in midfield going forward. Slow, ponderous, no movement or creativity.
-
Had a chance to break there and drive at them whilst they were in a bit of disarray….no, slowed it down and let them all get back into position.
We do this all the time. Frustrating. Is it confidence?
-
Gosh bogarde
-
Unai has a lot of credit in the bank but it’s starting to erode with what’s going on since the summer. This is nothing to do with PSR
-
Another let off.
-
Had a chance to break there and drive at them whilst they were in a bit of disarray….no, slowed it down and let them all get back into position.
We do this all the time. Frustrating. Is it confidence?
Its because we have zero pace to get the ball forward quickly its very slow and predictable. The footballs horrible to watch this season thus far
-
What's going on? These players played well in the international break so they're not out of form.
We've all seen this before be it at our club or other clubs. They all look like they are downing tools.
Not one of them will be going to the world cup at this rate.
-
Gosh bogarde
Here’s looking at him. Kid.
-
Idrissa I am not gay playing in I am not gay white tights
-
Total touches inside opposition box,
Everton 21 v 3 Aston Villa.
-
No width or pace. We only go wide when Digne or Cash overlap.
-
were just awful - rogers looks awful. the midfield is on existient. I just cant comprehend how in the last 5 games compared to our previous 10 odd.
This season we just look like weve given up
-
Idrissa I am not gay playing in I am not gay white tights
:)
-
ATROCIOUS freekick
-
Another foul throw.
-
ATROCIOUS freekick
Well that answers that.
-
Utter waste of a free kick. Pathetic.
-
Sky saying what a fantastic atmosphere in the stadium. Lies.
-
Good news. Half Time.
-
Atrocious, we can’t even take a throw in, thank god Everton have a lump of cardboard playing up front.
-
Terrible free kick immediately followed by our second foul throw. It’s fucking pantomime stuff this.
-
Sky saying what a fantastic atmosphere in the stadium. Lies.
I'm fairly sure Sherwood just has the volume on his headphones turned up high!!
-
Elliott must be wondering what the fuck he's swapped for. Still we're winning on possession. That's what matters to Emery, daft cvnt.
-
Nothing there has dispelled my worries about us this year, just increased them.
-
what a disgusting first half - everything about anything in that ground since 3pm has been vile.
-
From 58% possession we've had three shots with one on target. No corners.
Youri also walking off with the medical stuff so he might not make it back out.
We need to be using the subs bench soon.
-
That was worse than many of us predicted.
Not by design we somehow managed to get to halftime without conceding. What's going on with playing out from the back have midfield not been informed?
Cash needs to come off as we cant afford to play with 10 men again.
-
Well, the long sleeves look cool.
-
i don't hate the in-possession setup of Bogarde dropping into the backline so Cash can get more high up the pitch - but we're just not getting enough of the ball to see it.
I'm holding onto the idea we're going to be more proactive in the 2nd half. 🤞🏼
-
And another half without even a shot on target. I'm getting worried.
-
No changes at HT, guaranteed. We'll see Torres in the 74th minute to add an extra dimension to the attack.
-
We got more into it as the half went on, but we still don't look like we know how to create a chance, let alone score a goal.
-
Sky saying what a fantastic atmosphere in the stadium. Lies.
I'm fairly sure Sherwood just has the volume on his headphones turned up high!!
11
-
Generally poor.
No width but we have improved breaking their lines in the last 20 mins.
This still looks uninspired and lethargic.
-
From 58% possession we've had three shots with one on target. No corners.
Youri also walking off with the medical stuff so he might not make it back out.
We need to be using the subs bench soon.
We had a corner. I'm sure we had a corner.
-
And another half without even a shot on target. I'm getting worried.
BBC have us down as having one. Might have been a back-pass power though.
-
I think we'll see some aggressive changes around 60 min - Guessand & co.
-
We're so narrow, it's ridiculous. Condenses all the play into the middle and they crowd us out with ease.
-
I think we'll see some aggressive changes around 60 min - Guessand & co.
Not until they score though.
-
fucking hell it's depressing
-
From 58% possession we've had three shots with one on target. No corners.
Youri also walking off with the medical stuff so he might not make it back out.
We need to be using the subs bench soon.
Sorry it was late, messaged you
-
Hope that wasn't our better half.
-
Not sure wtf is going on at Villa, same old start, got into the game a little towards the end but really and truthfully Everton should have put this game out of sight, Cash is bang on for a red card he can't deal with Jack, Uni will have to shuffle about the full back position, all in all terrible would take a point at this stage of the game.
Come on Villa get this sorted.
-
Slightly better than last time, but another tough watch. We look like we’ve done all season, slow, lethergic and a bit one dimensional. Bring the subs on please Unai.
-
A forced change might actually help because the Manager seems reluctant to do anything.
-
You know it was a bad half when you had more foul throws than shots on target.
-
This is a really poor Everton team managed by a dour Manager and yet they are walking all over us. Come on Emery you cant be undone by Moyes surely.
-
The entire game has been a dog with fleas. Both sides are awful.
-
Two very average teams, that last 15 mins drifted into the dullest type of football you will see. Martinez has been very sharp, Mings ok, Buendia ok. Watkins looks ok too. The rest appalling really. Digne can't handle their guy, running in treacle. Midfield just a mess, McGinn far too narrow. Tielemans and McGinn both look gassed. Rogers disinterested again. Bogarde out of his depth.
Maatsen for Digne anyway. Elliot on too for Bogarde and shift McGinn in. Rogers left (10 mins to wake up) and Buendia at 10. Id leave Cash on, let him suffer a bit after that yellow.
-
2nd half must get better.
-
Does anyone have a waterfall please?
-
Positive - Unai has achieved his objective of getting to half-time at 0-0, so he will be happy!
I haven't a clue what happens now though?
-
Does anyone have a waterfall please?
Masochist.

Trouble is Jack's battering Cash

Think Cash did ok up to that yellow, the tackle of a man who wouldn't mind coming off. For whatever stupid reason McGinn is dropping on KDH, maybe Bogarde is meant to getting across. But giving Grealish that kind of space is crazy
-
Not sure wtf is going on at Villa, same old start, got into the game a little towards the end but really and truthfully Everton should have put this game out of sight, Cash is bang on for a red card he can't deal with Jack, Uni will have to shuffle about the full back position, all in all terrible would take a point at this stage of the game.
Come on Villa get this sorted.
Should have put this game out of sight? When, how?

Does anyone have a waterfall please?
Message me
-
Evan on for Youri.
-
The only thing more depressing than watching the match, is reading the comments on here.
-
Pre-season Joe Cole said we'd struggle. Oh how I laughed . Seems he was right.
-
looks like Torres is ready to come on
-
So now we wait to see how long Youri is out for.
-
Tim Iroboooonam has been on the weights
-
Guessand on
-
Evan on for Youri.
Youri must have taken a knock
-
I think leaving Cash on is a big mistake.
Happy to have the new lad on now though but think that was a forced change.
-
So now we wait to see how long Youri is out for.
He could hardly move in the first half
-
Another let off.
-
Evan on for Youri.
Youri must have taken a knock
Of course, he plays in a position where we already have two players injured.
-
Rogers goes cockeyed when an easy pass is on.
-
So now we wait to see how long Youri is out for.
He’ll be off on a round the world cruise with Onana and Kamara no doubt.
-
Another let off.
Beto has had the better of Mings and Konsa all game
-
Worried about Cash now - Guessand aint going to want to track back
-
Fuck me Morgan, stop fucking passing to the opposition man!
-
Fuck me Morgan, stop fucking passing to the opposition man!
he has been shit
-
Konsa = shite
-
Close!!!
-
Evan on for Youri.
Youri must have taken a knock
Of course, he plays in a position where we already have two players injured.
And another with personal problems.
-
Fuck me Morgan, stop fucking passing to the opposition man!
he has been shit
His link up play is woeful on the basis he can't pass straight.
-
Well he’s not is he? We’ve literally seen that this week. The problem is what we’re doing as a team. It’s pretty self evident as we’ve played 3 and a half games and not scored.
-
Very close from Buendia.
-
Buendia shot deflected wide but thats what we need to do, have some shots.
-

No one said he's shit but there's no argument that he has been shit.
-

I admire your consistency in blaming the system but that let's players off the hook for making basic errors. Rogers is so cheap with possession.
-
Better right now.
-

You replied to someone stating he is shit.
-
A bit fucking better Villa.
-
Decent little bit of possession here, better.
-
A bit better now.
-
That's the best football we've played all season.
-
Much better start to second half.
-

He's been shit as of today he has been shit. Not he is shit
-
Much better, McGinn and Buendia going well now
-
That's the best football we've played all season.
I dont think it's any surprise it occurred when we (finally) managed to tempt the opposition into opening up the pitch so we can play through them.
-

Yep I see what you mean. I know we tend to want to engineer the opposition with certain triggers for us, but even just our passing has gone up a level. A bit more zip to our play.
-
Ffs Emery, get Digne off
-
Ffs Emery, get Digne off
Who for?
-
330 minutes and zero goals in league. Really poor stat that
-

Nss
-
Yep I see what you mean. I know we tend to want to engineer the opposition with certain triggers for us, but even just our passing has gone up a level. A bit more zip to our play.
Agreed. One of the reasons I think we look so ponderous this season is that opposition are doing everything in their power now to avoid giving us any space. We haven't adapted as well as we should - our passing in the last few games has been awful.
-
Another let off.
-
Both of these teams look like Championship-standard shite.
-

With this, I do back Emery to see what and tweak it for us. We'll adapt I think. I just wanted us to start more professionally this year, we've looked sloppy and disinterested.
-
Ffs Emery, get Digne off
Who for?
Maatsen, there's loads of space on that flank and he can't be any worse defensively
-
Digne down.
-
Lovely bubble on Dignes bonce.
-
Looks a nasty one for digne
-
This is going to end 0-0 or 1-0 to them. Let’s be fair, they’ll have deserved it if they win it on what we’ve put up so far.
-
Surely has to go off now for concussion protocols.
-
We're determined to end this unbeaten run against them aren't we?.
-
That looks really nasty doe Digne
-
Digne back on.
-
Martinez has to hold that cross
-
Tim off. Merlin on. Hopefully he doesn't weave any magic.
-
One less Ex-Villa to score against us. Tim is off for someone on his debut.......
-
One Ex-Liverpool player coming on to score against them?
-
Elliot is going to get booed to fuck....and he's going to smash our first goal of the season in, 3pts in the bag, up your Dick.
-
Grealish booked.
-
Surprised Digne is still on with that head injury
-
Grealish booked.
What did he do?
-
Buendia booked.
-
Would we like to score a goal anytime? Or are we quite happy without one?
-
Grealish booked.
What did he do?
Tried being hard with that haircut.
-
C’mon Unai, get Elliott on. Let’s at least have a look at him.
-
This is exceedingly shit.
-
Buendia off for Harvey.
-
Grealish booked.
What did he do?
Shoved Evan.
-
Grealish booked.
What did he do?
Tried being hard with that haircut.
Deserved it then
-
Footballers are wanks.
-
Great save from Emi.
-
Emi booked for making a tackle
-
Super emi!
-
Safe from Keane
-
I don't like this blessing yourself and looking up to the sky shit when players come on. Footballers all seem to do it now. Such a weird trend.
-
Watkins and Rogers haven't done enough for me. The rare touches they've had have been poor.
-
Harvey on. Come on lad make a name for yourself.
-
Save!!!!! He’s back.
-
Outstanding save by Martinez.
-
Great save Emi.
-
Watkins has had to feed off scraps today.
-
What a save that was
-
I forgot rogers was playing
-
Watkins and Rogers haven't done enough for me. The rare touches they've had have been poor.
Rogers has been diabolical but gets a pass from Emery again. Should have gone before Buendia
-
We could actually nick this y’know.
-
We could actually nick this y’know.
We need to remember to score first, unless you mean nicking a point?
-
We’ve gone in to full shithousery mode trying to scrape a draw.
-
We could actually nick this y’know.
We need to remember to score first, unless you mean nicking a point?
I assumed he meant nicking a throw-in.
-
Toothless up front
-
I assumed he meant nicking a throw-in.
To do a 3rd foul throw.
-
Fuck off Rogers
-
I’ve just got a feeling…..
-
We need the fans with those cardboard arrows again.
-
PWS probably doesn't remember how to spell Scorchio anymore.
-
I came on to ask how Rogers is playing. I get the message loud and clear…
-
I’ve just got a feeling…..
Not a good one
-
Toothless up front
The oly club in the whole football league not to have scored a goal would back up your point.
-
I came on to ask how Rogers is playing. I get the message loud and clear…
England’s Rogers is great. As is England’s Konsa. The Villa versions not so much.
-
Toothless up front
The oly club in the whole football league not to have scored a goal would back up your point.
When you only decide to enter the opponents box or test the opponent’s keeper 1 or 2 times a game that’s the outcome.
-
Another atrocious freekick
-
Donny and Lindy getting ready.
-
Book Pickford then prick.
-
Lindy for cash surely.
-
New song.....All we are saying is give us a goal.....
Attendance 51k. Surprised at that.
-
Toothless up front

Shows then its the way emery is setting them up.
-
Grealish gone out of it second half really. Everton have no midfield
-
Donny and Lindy getting ready.
Easy money for Don since he joined.
-
We need Merson to chip the keeper in the last minute
-
Ollie and Bogarde off.
-
Anti scoring subs. Brilliant
-
We need Merson to chip the keeper in the last minute
Or some Ashley Young magic.
-
Anti scoring subs. Brilliant
?
-
We need Merson to chip the keeper in the last minute
Yes please! Charge up the Tardis!
-
I really don't think Watkins wants to be here any more.
-
Anti scoring subs. Brilliant
?
Watkins off. And lindelof Just why?
-
Lindelof in midfield or back 5?
-
When was the last time that we had a goal from a debut?
-
Could Victor grab a goal for Villa?.... I don't believe it.....
-
Bogarde has had a great game.... strange sub to lindelof in a role he's infrequently played on his first game..
-
Bogarde scrapped ok second half to be fair.
-
Wasting time to try and get a point against Everton FFS
-
Andi Weimann scores against smethwick.
-
When was the last time that we had a goal from a debut?
Onana?
-
Bogarde scrapped ok second half to be fair.
I thought he was our best player today.
-
When was the last time that we had a goal?
-
We may never score again.
-
At least Wolves are still below us as it stands.
-
We need Merson to chip the keeper in the last minute
I was just thinking the same thing!
-
God this is painful at times
-
Rogers. WOW!
-
At times?
-
Bogarde scrapped ok second half to be fair.
I thought he was our best player today.
Yeah he did ok, first half passed him by I thought but got stuck in in the second. Buendia was decent too, McGinn second half
-
They have certainly moved the spirit of Goodison to the new ground - they only make noise when they're whining about a decision.
-
sweeeet bee-zeeeesusss ffffuuuukkkk where has Rogers touch gone?
-
I remember that run of goalless games in 1992... 1 in eleven wasn't it?
-
Well at least the international break helped us out with our preparation for this.
-
Another let off. Well done Tyrone.
-
:-Xbrilliant by mings
-
Rogers has been awful
-
Well done Mings
-
Hanging on for a point
-
Pau would have been nowhere near that.
-
Konsa again, complete liability
-
And another.
-
I remember that run of goalless games in 1992... 1 in eleven wasn't it?
The Villa Goal Drought. Wasn't that when the pitch was mainly sand?
-
Hanging on against this shower of shite
-
5 mins more to hang on.
-
How has Guessand done today?
-
Sitter missed there
-
I genuinely never thought given the three years or so we’ve had with Emery we would ever see such terrible football again. We’ve had such an easy start to the season with only one side that finished above us. It’s only going to get much worse from here. What a waste.
-
How has Guessand done today?
He’s quite……raw, shall we say.
-
Fulham pinch it vs Leeds
-
How has Guessand done today?
Worked hard out of possession but looks very limited with the ball
-
How has Guessand done today?
Done well for me. I think he has battled hard and done quite abit of defensive work.
-
How has Guessand done today?
Not had much opportunity to do owt in attack. The balls been in our half more often then not
-
We need Merson to chip the keeper in the last minute
I wondered if anyone else was experiencing memories of that game. Very similar. We were hanging on for a point then, all of a sudden...
-
FT
-
Buck Rogers would do better than Morgan these days.
-
WE DIDN'T LOSE!
-
So embarrassing.
-
Would have taken that at 3:00pm tbf.
-
I'd have taken a point after 20 minutes, but, please, give us a goal.
-
How has Guessand done today?
He’s quite……raw, shall we say.
Looks like a poor mans Bertie
-
2 poor teams, nothing to separate them.
We are not challenging anywhere near top 6 ,
-
Another masterclass from Unai O'Leary. Avoid defeat courtesy of a world class save from the player he tried to bully out
-
Like watching Villa from a few years ago before we licked on. Regressed so far this season - let's hope we can kick on at home.
-
WE DIDN'T LOSE!
The quality of small Merseys are not strained.
-
2 poor teams, nothing to separate them.
We are not challenging anywhere near top 6 ,
This
-
It's early, but he looks another to add to the list of complete flops we have had in that position in the last 5 years.

Who?
