Due to be announced on 16 June.
If we can't be home I would like it to be Forest away.
-
Absolutely not, don't want a promoted team away till they've had a few thumpings. Citeh, Chelsea or Liverpool away before they get in their groove, it's a free hit and we may as well be on the right side of an opening day "shock" result.

Absolutely this. It should be home anyway, we've had 2 out of 3 away since promotion, and the home one was with no fans.

Commonwealth Games is on the same weekend, we'll be away.

Watford away last year or Stoke away should tell us it's not a good idea to be wishing for a Forest away fixture to start the season. Have that in October/November when promotion feelgood factor has worn off and reality has set in.
Think opening game will be mundane like Southampton or Everton away.
Would be nice to get Man. United at home early as think we'd beat them given they're going to have to make endless signings and have a new manager so they'll have a slow start.
-
I want, and think it will be, Man U at home.
-
Ideally someone with a new manager/lots of new signings that haven't had a chance to gel as a team yet.
I'll take a wild guess at Leeds away.
-
Man City away is my guess.
-
West Ham away
-
Due to be announced on 16 June.
If we can't be home I would like it to be Forest away.
The start of the season is the worst possible time to get the promoted teams, just as they're riding the crest of a wave. You want to get them in deep winter slog, once the shine has gone and they're mired deep in a relegation battle.

We got Bournemouth in 2015 and beat them. That worked out well.
-
Spurs away
-
Palace away
-
Away to a team that hasn't just been promoted or got a new manager, please. Be typical if the one year we are at home first game is one where I can't go.
-
We will definitely be away first game due to the Commowealth Games. That's why there will be no home friendlies either.
-
Hurrah.
-
They like to give us a newly promoted side early on, so what's the betting we'll get Forest away while their adrenaline is going strong and their tails are up? ;D
-
They usually give one newly-promoted side a winnable game, eg home to us, while the others get tedious cannon fodder matches away to Man City/Liverpool type teams.
-
Just checked and no international games end of August/Sept so we'll have a nice run of games in late summer/early Autumn, think there's a midweek round being put in place of usual international break so would imagine we'll get a home game then so hopefully Everton type atmosphere if we get a top half team.
VP under lights has been brilliant since we came back up.
-
Brentford away. Time to give them a beating.
-
Arsenal away. They don't like it up 'em.
-
Someone like Tonga or the Soloman Islands at home.
-

Tut...tut there is absolutely no romance in you. You're just so clinical :)
-
Brentford away. Time to give them a beating.
If we win by fewer than ten against those Leeds Enablers next time we play there, Gerrard can have his P45 before he gets on the team buzz.
-
Brentford away. Time to give them a beating.
Isn't it just. Bogey team with a capital Bee

I heard earlier today that the FA have asked Premier League to ensure there are no fixtures on the weekend of 12/13 November, last games before the break for WC, between top 6 teams. This is to protect England squad but I am not sure how that works?
In any case now we have official recognition that there is a top 6 group...WTF.
-

I've mentioned this before where people on Twitter give stats for "The Other 14". They can f*ck right off with that as well.
-
Apart from 3 seasons since the war, we have always moved up the table during June.
https://twitter.com/premierleague/status/1534841593164857346
-
Surely AFC Bournemouth should be top? They've pushed us down to ball 3 in the FA Cup Third Round draw so the Premier League have got that wrong.
-
Also, we definitely moved down a place in June 1981.
-
We'll win.

I've heard that but nothing official, if it is the case, and not wishing serious injury on an player I hope a crucial England player gets a serious injury that weekend to prove what a batshit crazy that idea is.
-
It's not official so it's almost certainly bollocks. Affecting so many clubs would have a knock-on for the rest of the season.
-
I stand to be corrected but you rarely see one of those games on the opening or closing day of the season and I've often wondered if this was gerrymandering.
-
Chelsea always seem to get a newly promoted team at home first game of the season. Like they always seem to get easy draws in the FA Cup that allows them to go far in the competition each year.
-
I stand to be corrected but you rarely see one of those games on the opening or closing day of the season and I've often wondered if this was gerrymandering.
Opening fixtures:
2021-22 Spurs v Manchester City
2019-20 Manchester United v Chelsea
2018-19 Arsenal v Manchester City
2016-17 Arsenal v Liverpool
2015-16 Manchester United v Spurs

It is gerrymandering regarding the end of season fixtures, you will never now see the above fixtures played then, the last time any of the 'Sky 6' met on the final day was in season 08-09.
-
Anyway, Bournemouth away will be our first game.

Well I was half right, anyway Spurs don't count.

No thank you not interested in getting relegated again.
-
Have a feeling we’ll get Leeds.
-
Liverpool away. They didn't get to show it last season as we appointed Gerrard after the televised fixtures had been announced.

It was live on sky but a 3pm Saturday k/o which was odd.

Sky or anyone, aren't allowed televise 3pm Sat games?

One advantage living over here, I see every game regardless of time.
-
I remember thinking that Bournemouth would beat us and then would hardly win another game all season. It turned out to be the other way around.
-
Bedlington Terriers or Olbiun at home please.

It was i watched it. It was a Saturday afternoon in December. I don’t subscribe to sky sports, but can pay a tenner for a 24hr pass through now tv. I know for a fact i watched it live on tv.

In hindsight maybe it was a dodgy link 😂

Yeah, I assume the Radio Times is referring to legal streams, they're probably not going to be promoting Hesgoal.

It was the year we had Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool as our first three. Though I think that was only leaked an hour or so ahead of time.

It's bollocks. For the simple reason that the 'leaked' screengrab includes a full round of fixtures weekend of September 24/5 – which is actually the international week.
-
Fulham away.
None of the Scab 6 will be playing each other until October at least.
-
Looks like Citeh will be playing Bournemouth first game. Based on Premier League tweet in response to the announcement of the Haaland transfer.

Man City played Spurs first match of last season. Arsenal v Chelsea in week 2, and Liverpool Chelsea week 3.

It was the Premier League official Twitter account. Replied to the announcement by Man City by posting AfcBournemouth and an egg timer. Now deleted.
Suspect the fixtures may be changed now though !!

They couldn't be changed at such short notice - they're being worked on all season.

Man City away
-
Premier League to scrap fixtures between Boxing Day and New Year in a shake-up for the 22/23 season. The traditional Dec 28/29 games will be moved in a bid to ease clubs back in after the World Cup. Fixtures to be confirmed on Thursday.
John Percy
-
They should be axed every year, anyway.
-
Would rather they kept the 28th and got rid of New Year games.
-
Would rather they kept the 28th and got rid of New Year games.
Agree with that, except in Glasgow of course.
-
Despite with what I'm hearing elsewhere, reckon we'll get Man City away, they will be leading 2 nil for most of the match, then we will score 3 goals in the last 10 mins, resulting in the most dramatic victory, the opening day has ever seen.
-
I still think Forest away.
-
I reckon away to Brentford.
-

And historians will look back and say that was the day Villa's title-winning season really caught fire.

And the irony of Grealish's 2 own goals and red card in his 5 minute cameo wasn't lost on the nation

Forest away, guaranteed. And we'll lose. And the MOTD lot will absolutely cream themselves about how Forest are going about it "the right way".

Especially if it's Jenas. Hoping instead for someone mudane or shit, like Soton or Yanited.
-
I'd like it to be away at manyoo, we go through the motions, nothing overly spectacular, and come away with a 2-0 win.
-
I’m going for Southampton away followed by Wolves at home
-
It'll be a newly-promoted team away, as usual.
-
As some others have said I’d go for forest away too
-
It’s Fulham away.
-
Fulham away. Great start. Loads of fans loads of ale.
-
Arsenal vs Everton
Brentford vs Southampton
Brighton vs Tottenham
Chelsea vs Bournemouth
Leeds vs Man Utd
Leicester vs Palace
Liverpool vs Fulham
Man City vs Newcastle
Forest vs Villa
West Ham vs Wolves
*taps nose.
-
I can't wait for the fixtures to come out this morning really looking forward to see who we are playing this season.
-
Was just thinking we had a really good opening run of fixtures last season, only we were awful and couldn't make the most of it. Makes me prepare for the worst now!
-
Can't wait to see which newly promoted team we are playing first game.

Fulham away. Great start. Loads of fans loads of ale.
And a 2-0 defeat
-
So its Bournemouth away then.
-
Shock. A newly-promoted team away. Bournemouth, it is.
-
Everton first home game
-
I'm happy with that.
-
I'm going to guess that only 11 fixtures keep their original dates and times over the course of the season.
-
Nice to be at home last game.
-
6 games in April, 3 in Sept. Fucking barmy.
-
Home on boxing day again. To Liverpool.
-

8pm KO. Telling ya.

Anyway, Bournemouth away will be our first game.

Brilliant. I will watch it go for miles over my head, like a comet.

A ticket to 'An Audience with Gareth Southgate'.
-
Happy with Liverpool as the first game back from the WC break, hopefully catch them a bit cold.
August looks decent as well.
-
That's a really decent set of fixtures albeit with a tricky Xmas period and a tough run-in. If we can get off to a good start we could be in a decent position come December and then there's no real run of tricky games till the end of the season.
-
Palace was the second away game in the relegation season too. Uh oh....... Still it's a better start than the Man City away we were facing in the "leaked" fixtures.
-
Happy with Liverpool as the first game back from the WC break, hopefully catch them a bit cold.
That's a good point, and then Spurs as well, so even happier now.
-
Home on boxing day again. To Liverpool.
Hopefully that gets moved back a day for telly. Boxing Day games are a pain for me.
-
Having just glanced at it, we don't seem to have too many horrible runs - a bit like last season. They can really stamp out any momentum you get going, so it's always better to spread out the tricky matches. The games at the end of August to mid September look like the hardest group of matches until the run in. That will tell us a lot about how our season will go - some decent results there could mean we're on for a really good season. If we struggle we can start sounding out Pochettino!
-
Looks like Southgate got his wish on the weekend before the WC. Here's hoping for a raft of injuries to make him look an even bigger twat.
-
May's not great
Wolves A
Spurs H
Liverpool A
Brighton H
-
Need to get the title wrapped up in April.
-
Please can South Korea arrange matches on 31st December and 13th May.
-
Worst possible time to play a promoted team. The first game will be tricky.
-
The curse of the away fixture at a newly-promoted club...
-
Anyway, Bournemouth away will be our first game.
What do I win :)
A season ticket next to Wilma.

Lots of decent boozers and restaurants in the Lanes. Generally safe and friendly. Hove side is a bit posher. Lewes is a lovely market town nearby too.

Judging by last year's timings, August and September TV games will be announced in early July.

This is true, but out of the three promoted sides i’d rather play them away first.
-
If you like Ale, there are some pubs near the station that do a cracking pint of Harvey’s, or a Sussex as the locals say.

My comment was largely tongue in cheek (it'll be Dec) but cheers for the recommendations. Sounds like it's worth an overnight.

From the BBC website:
There are no meetings between the Premier League's so-called 'big six' on weekend of 12-13 November - the one before the World Cup - following a request by the Football Association.
Up to the other 14 clubs to pile in feet first?

Lunacy. Just need a dirty Leeds tackle on Harry Kane that puts him out, and it'll show Southgate up for the uttering fucking twat that he is.

The idea that you are less likely to get injured playing a top 6 team as opposed to bottom 6 is just plain daft.
-
Isn't it just Southgate wants the players he picks from those clubs in camp a day earlier?
If Man. City-Liverpool are playing on that Suinday at half 4 they aren't rolling into training camp at Burton until late that evening so everyone playing on the Saturday would help in the era of "marginal gains" in sport.
As for us would've rather had Bournemouth at VP but that wasn't possible.
Decent start for us, let's hope we get a decent pre season to take advantage as us being 3-0 down to Watford after an hour last year was a bit of a joke.
-

A disgraceful decision. Apparently Southgate was concerned that there will not be enough time to assess injuries. WTF how is that better when they are all still playing someone else? Newcastle and Leeds for example are going to put out deck chairs for Chelsea and Tottenham?
-
The idea that you are less likely to get injured playing a top 6 team as opposed to bottom 6 is just plain daft.
I don't think that's the motivation. I think the point behind this is that games between a Scab 6 team v an Also Ran will be a leisurely stroll in the park for the said Scab 6 team, such that it should not even really be necessary for a Scab 6 team to select any of their England international superstars in their starting XI, or if they do start they might be able to be withdrawn once the Scab 6 team is 4-0 up after 20 minutes.
-
I hope there's never a World Cup mid-season ever again. Corrupt, greedy FIFA wankers.

I think it could be a cracker with quite a few teams in contention. Players will be pretty fresh as it's mid-season and there's been no summer tournament this year.

Xmas period will be brutal for teams with the most players who get to later stages of world cup. Given the way most of the England players have played this season I can see more shock results than normal in xmas/new year.
Big chance of clubs like us and perhaps Brighton who won't have that many players at world cup (if likes of Mings and Kamara don't get called up in the end) to have a mini pre season and really do well over xmas.
Mind you we have that three week break early in Gerrard's reign this season and were terrible when fixtures restarted so perhaps I'm being optimistic there!

August looks decent as well.
More likely to be the other way round with all our Argentinians / Brazilians / French being at WC till the semis at least

I hope there's never a World Cup mid-season ever again. Corrupt, greedy FIFA wankers.
There's no doubt that FIFA are greedy, corrupt wankers and there are numerous ethical reasons why Qatar should not be hosting the World Cup.
However, there is no real reason why World Cups should always be held at a time that is convenient for European teams. That seems like a somewhat neo-Colonial attitude.
-
At least there's less international windows in Sep/Oct (March'23?) this season, so there will club football almost every weekend outside of the World Cup month.
-
I can see two home Sunday matches without TV causing the switches.
West Ham will be on August 28th as they should play the Conference League play off round on the 25th (also, the Villa website says this).
In addition, the Man U home game should move to November 6th as they will be playing in the Europa League on Nov 3rd.
-
Bugger.
-
Sorry, a couple more Sundays...
I think we can bank on the Arsenal home game being switched to Sunday February 19th, assuming they get through the Europa League group stage. Even if they finish 3rd in their group, they would drop into the Conference League (like Leicester did last season), so would be playing in Europe on Feb 16th.
West Ham away will be on Sunday March 11th, if they are in the last 16 of the Conference League.

From the BBC website:
There are no meetings between the Premier League's so-called 'big six' on weekend of 12-13 November - the one before the World Cup - following a request by the Football Association.
Up to the other 14 clubs to pile in feet first?
I just can't follow the logic here at all, which is why I want it to go horribly wrong.
Lunacy. Just need a dirty Leeds tackle on Harry Kane that puts him out, and it'll show Southgate up for the uttering fucking twat that he is.
The idea that you are less likely to get injured playing a top 6 team as opposed to bottom 6 is just plain daft.
It's probably more about the match theoretically may be less intense / less riding on it so teams may be more likley to rotate players or players may be less fatigued after a stroll over Forest than a 6 pointer against Man City. I think that bollocks, with the international break I'm sure all managers will put out their strongest team, but we'll see.

Christmas fixtures are brutal (and stupid right after the WC).
-
So Sk....ahem the FA can manipulate fixtures to suit demands of the National team..... so presumably "Supa dupa mega sundays" are not just lucky draws for the TV companies then ??? ??? ???
Have had Man U TV (Sorry Sky Sports News) on whilst working at home - fuck me every other story is based around them.
When will they accept they are a middle of the road average prem team now?

And we'll have 5 players who will have been in the final - Martinez, Buendia, Coutinho, Luiz and Carlos.
Fortunately our English players will have rested for an extra week or so (if any go)

Brutal ? It's 3 games in 8 days. Back in the olden days they used to play on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. They would get on the local corporation bus with the fans to the home game, smoke half a pack of capstan full strength and eat pie and chips out of newspaper for a pre match meal, after the game go back home on the bus, clean their own kit and boots then travel on a steam train the next morning from Snow Hill to the away game which could well be in Sunderland. For what ? A 5/- win bonus...if they were lucky ! You tell that to the bloody overpaid prima donna wimps of today and they just don't believe you !
I will concede there was no World Cup and when some frenchy did start it up we declined to take part as we didn't want to lower ourselves to play against a bunch of foreigners at a game we had invented.

Forget all this tosh about league fixtures
What's the date of our FA Cup tie against ManU and when do tickets go on sale?

Why are the hurling and football championships finishing early this year? Not the feckin' Qataris at it again, is it?

Kind of, they wanted the players to avoid the heat of an Irish summer in August. ;)
It's to give more priority to the club championships. Not really in favour but it doesn't bother me unduly, probably more of an issue for Munster hurling fans.

Hopefully they both get away ties to FC Vladivostock or Inter Kazhakstan.
Mind you we played West Ham between their two ties with Sevilla last season and still lost (even Burnley got a draw with them after one of their european ties).
Considering they're a nightmare match up for us that would be a statement win early on so getting them a few days after european tie should help us.

Don't think Luiz will be with us by then, Carlos and Buendia will both be borderine for squads aswell.

With all this world cup stuff, do we know yet when our 3rd round trip to old trafford is?

EFL fixtures out next week.
Waiting to see which London teams are at home when we go to the NFL at Wembley.
-
Anyone know when Sky etc are likely to make their pic of games for the first few weeks (I know they've done opening weekend already).

At the time the games are played, I'd imagine. ;)

July 5 - for matches in August and September...
Cheers, that's a useful list to have.
-
I'm not sure how rigidly they've stuck to it in previous years, mind.

From a cursory glance at SSN, I think they’ve picked the opening weekend games already.
-

They missed the dates pretty much every time last season.

There's no way on Earth that Sky will give 11 weeks' notice of their Boxing Day picks. They couldn't hit the six week deadline on any of the picks last season.
-
Amazon have the Boxing Day games.

Yeah thanks. Although they usually missed by a few days still a useful list to have.

Good point, well made
-
Amazon have the Boxing Day games.
But even though all games are shown on Amazon live, a few kick off times are still changed and I would wager our game with Liverpool will be one of them.
-
I hope so.
