Brentford missing off your list
-
Hate regionalised draws.
-
Derby at home please.
-
Would like Barrow at home, pretty sure I've never seen them.
-
Rochdale been given W/O as Harrogate have Covid in the squad and there's not time to rearrange before the 2nd round date.
-
"The winner of the League Cup qualifies for the play-off round of the 2022/2023 UEFA Europa Conference".
That's an incentive to finish higher up the league and qualify for the UEFA Cup or the Champions League to avoid that nonsense.
-
Why put league cup winners in the shit cup?
It should be carabao. Guess they trying ti turn this confernece cup into cup winners cup.
-
Hate regionalised draws.
I assume it's done to avoid say Plymouth and Barrow having to play each other mid week. Having said that the National League over the years has had many long distance fixtures which clubs have got on and dealt with.
-
Yeah, we aren't exactly Russia. And the draw halves our chances of playing a local team!
-
Rochdale been given W/O as Harrogate have Covid in the squad and there's not time to rearrange before the 2nd round date.
Chelsea v Rochdale in the 3rd Round then
-
Yeah, we aren't exactly Russia. And the draw halves our chances of playing a local team!
Or a 'bye' as it's otherwise known.
-
Can get as big as 50/1 for Villa to win the cup.
Generally around 33/1 still OK before the draw...
-
Blues blues blues
-
No thanks. Nothing to gain, would never hear the end of it if we fucked it up. Best case scenario we go through comfortably having picked a strong team to be on the safe side, while whoever we play the weekend after will have had a nice rest after playing a collection of schoolboys, kit men and catering staff during their League Cup tie.
-
Have a feeling we might get Coventry away
-
Small Heath away please.
-
Small Heath away please.
No thanks, don't mind getting them in the FA Cup when the new players have settled in but not before the end of Aug.
-
Small Heath away please.
I would prefer never to have the play the "unwashed" ever, i don't want to give them any kind of moral victory, forget them.
-
Exactly. Wanting a local derby in the cups is diddy club behaviour.
-
A mid week trip to Holker Street.
We are ball number 2 in the northern section.
Small Heath and Smethwick are both in the southern section.

Being scared about playing the Noses is Diddy Club stuff.

Stop talking shite. Man United fans don't get excited about playing Morecambe. Doesn't mean they're scared of them.
Anyway, they need to get on with this draw.
-
QPR at home Albert returning to VP would be brilliant.
-
QPR at home Albert returning to VP would be brilliant.

We actually can't play SHA can we....
Probably Blackburn if they're still in it....used to play them more than Man. United in cups about a decade ago.
-

They get all fuzzy about going to Elland Road.

Everton, Leeds or Wolves look the worst possible draws we can get.

Ah it's looking doubtful then!
-
Stop. Dragging it out. You twats.

I don't mind then dragging out so much if they're talking about us winning it, to be fair. 🙂

So I don't even know what or who this Barrow are obviously in the North. No idea.

Very far North. They were in the league for years before spending decades in non-league. Promoted back to the bottom tier the year before last.
We really should be winning.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holker_Street
Holker Street has remained unchanged since the redevelopment of the main stand in the mid-1990s. Described as having "a traditional, old fashioned feel", the ground has three sides of terracing and one all-seater Main Stand, the latter with a capacity of around 1,000. The Main Stand, backing onto Wilkie Road is raised above the central portion of the pitch, with flat standing on either side. The Popular Side now has the only covered terracing, opposite the Main Stand. This end is dominated by the CrossBar which houses the club's offices, and which somewhat damages the aesthetics of the ground. Between 1963 and 2017, the ground had large floodlighting structures in its four corners. Three of those were replaced by smaller floodlights; one was kept because it also functions as a mobile phone mast.
The stadium also has basic catering facilities on match days.
(https://i.ibb.co/Qd1Vz6Z/barrow-afc-holker-street-1421422722.jpg) (https://ibb.co/Qd1Vz6Z)
The roof of the Main Stand suffered minor damage on 16 October 2017, as a result of Hurricane Ophelia. In 2020, a roof was built on the Holker Street End of the ground after the club had won promotion back to the Football League.

They'll beat Arsenal Youth Team if they bother to treat is seriously. They probably won't, though.

Outside of anyone having to get up there.
Thanks

And that is.
Furness is a peninsula and region of Cumbria in northwestern England. Together with the Cartmel Peninsula it forms North Lonsdale, historically an exclave of Lancashire!
The Internet helped!

Was actually going to visit the place one but gave up when they cancelled the train from Oxenholme Lake District and spent a very pleasant afternoon in Kendal instead.
Far worse away trips out there if you do an overnight stay around that part of the world.

There are many pubs and working men's clubs in Barrow. Barrow has fourteen of the latter, one of the highest number per capita of any British town. There are also many bars and clubs found primarily in Barrow town centre on Duke Street and Cornwallis Street. Popular venues on Duke Street include the following bars: Jefferson's, the Buddha Bar, Bar Cairo and the Drawing Room. They did have a Yates's but the building was deemed unsafe and has since been demolished.
A traditional favourite food in Barrow is the pie, and particularly the meat and potato pie. Pie shops are common, and Green's of Jarrow Street is noted as a favourite of Barrow-born celebrity chef Dave Myers and journalist Martin Tarbuck, who declared them to be Britain's best pies in a book dedicated to the subject.
Barrow was also the home of soft-drink company Marsh's, which produced a distinctive sarsaparilla-flavoured fizzy drink known as Sass. Marsh's was purchased by Purity Soft Drinks of Birmingham in 1993, and the company stopped producing Sass in 1999. Remaining bottles have subsequently sold for high prices as a collector's item. A new product, labelled "Barrow Sass", was launched in 2014 in a bid to replicate traditional Sass.

172 miles from Villa Park. 4 hr drive - assuming the M6 is clear all the way north.
Last train out of there leaves at quarter to ten, but takes until early morning to get you back to Brum with a couple of changes thrown in.
-
I’m a bit further North and it’s a 2 and a half hour drive for me and nearly 3 hours on the train. That 9:45 train back will be cutting it fine after full time even with a 745 ko! You certainly couldn’t stay for ET or penalties.

Make it sound so difficult to get there SV, then us Oop North will stand a better chance of getting tickets. Ground only holds 5046.

I know Jon I was too quick on the draw and never read it back after amending it. :(
-
Any consolation no extra time in these matches despite the geography and supposed nearer locations.
If level at full time then straight to a penalty shooter
-
What’s the away allocation for a league cup tie? I have a vague recollection it would be about 15% or 750 or so tickets.

We're entitled to claim 10% as a minimum.
That would leave c.4,500 available
Their average attendance when they got promoted from the Conference was 1376.
They didn't have any crowds last season because of Covid,
Guess tickets will be in short supply

Last train out of there leaves at quarter to ten, but takes until early morning to get you back to Brum with a couple of changes thrown in.
This involves waiting in Manchester Piccadilly between 1am and 5am to change. You would probably bump into a drunken ratboy wearing unmatching slippers stumbling out some nightclub.

I could be wrong but I don't think we have ever played Barrow in a competitive game.

Barrow beat Scunthorpe in R1 with a spectacular goal from Dimitri Sea (ex Villa).
-
I hope deano will take this seriously we want a cup
If we lose this it would be utterly humiliating
-
I’ve seen them play Sutton Town, they bought a fair few with them and the ones we spoke to were a decent bunch
From going up there with work it’s not one of the more picturesque Cumbrian towns.
-
I hope that we forego our right to 45% of the gate money (as I think we've done in the past ?). Would be a great gesture to help a smaller club out, in these troubled times.....and it's not like we need the dough.

Barrow are my local team, or at least were when I lived there permanently. Grim, grim place. Furness is known as the biggest cul-de-sac in Britain (although I think there are probably hundreds pf places that call themselves that), the A590 is the only way in or out, it's very much like living on an island.
Fun things to do:
Walney Island
Piel Castle
Trying not to get set upon by the local thugs (there was a street of nightclubs and bars, long since boarded up, that was referreed to locally as the Gaza Strip)
-
Getting in quickly - if anyone with a good away history doesn’t fancy Barrow on a Tuesday night can they let me know please?
Same here. I am actually staying 12 miles away that week!

Ah Cornwallis Street. Probably went bust when they enforced under age drinking rules.
I went on a seal watching trip round Piel and South Walney just yesterday. Beautiful bit of coast rather marred by Barrow. I spent 8 unhappy months living there and 5 happy years up the road in Ulverston. For those thinking of staying the Barrow Premier Inn is a few minutes walk from the ground. Inexplicably they appear to have a Holiday Inn Express as well.
-
One road in and on out so once you negotiate the A590 it’s easy to get to! You’ll never go back once you’ve been. Also a lot longer to get to than you think once you’ve hit Jct 36. Remember to draw your third eye on your forehead to fit in 😂😂
-
I would say there is a very good chance this gets shown aa a live game along with arsenal vs west brom
-
40 minutes on a good day. Getting there in time for kick off I would say more like an hour with the traffic. There's about 30 miles of roadworks on the M6. When I came up there was a 30 minutes queue at Wigan.

Hourihane's last stand. Conor will get a hat-trick and leave the Villa the next day with nothing but well-wishes.

I went to school in Ulverston, well for 4 years at least. I think I like more now coming back to visit as a "tourist" than I did when I lived in the area.
Going to the rugby league in Barrow was always fun though. Last time I saw them they were branded The Braves. I have no idea what the town's connection to native Americans was, but the PA seemed to be into it ("all youse kids get off pitch or the Braves'll come out an scalp yus").

-
Interesting, can’t find any reference to the first team playing against Barrow. Can only find one reserve team game that we’ve played. On 11th December 1920 the central league team had a free week and so journeyed up to Barrow for a friendly. 6000 watched as the reserves came from behind to win 2-1 with goals from Stott & Boyman. Note that 9 of the 11 had played in the first team.
Team: Jackson; Thompson, Timmins; Pendleton, Young, Leach; York, Boyman, G Blackburn, G Stephenson, Stott

I've had reason to visit Barrow on a number of occasions over the last decade or so, and it's fair to say it's not the most inspiring of places, but I've been to worse, however it is in a beautiful part of the country. For those of you who are going it's a good old way, but at least you don't need a sat nav. It's very simple: M6 north and A590. I've never been to the ground but it is on the main road leading into the town centre. I wouldn't bother trying to go by train, I've done that once before and it takes forever. For anyone planning on stopping overnight I would highly recommend the weatherspoons hotel in the town centre. It's rooms are superb. There was/is a pub in the town centre called Jeffersons that does decent pub grub, and the portion sizes are huge. Last time I was there was probably about two years ago. I ordered a bowl of chilli, and it was vast. When I finally surrendered to it in the end it looked like I hadn't even started it, and Mrs Rico ordered something different and had an equally large portion. There's nothing to see or do in Barrow other than drink so don't bother going sightseeing unless you want to take a look at the submarine factory which is huge. On the coastal road out of Barrow there is a Buddhist temple which is totally unexpected, but is magnificent in its beauty.
That's about as far as my knowledge of Barrow goes. Good luck to anyone making the trip.
-
Former Villa youth Dimitri Sea seems to be in good scoring touch for them
-
It's live on SKY.
https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2021/august/Barrow-cup-tie-selected-for-TV/
ah ffs - Sky obviously want to see a cup upset.... we might not let them down
-
we'd better twat these at least 12-0 or else.
-
I went out with a girl from Barrow. Never again will I set foot there.
Sounds like the first line of a limerick. The second line doesn't work for me.
I went out with a girl from Barrow
Who’s arse was the shape of a marrow
Although she was tall her legs were small
And her nose was exceedingly narrow.
You've been there then!
yes I have , I did not however meet the girl in question.
-
Barrow won 3-2 against Hartlepool yesterday, former Villa player Dimitri Sea came off the bench to score the winner.
-
Would play a full strength squad to get some more game time together.
-
Would play a full strength squad to get some more game time together.
Absolutely. Should be as near to full strength as is possible.
-
This has 'classic potential banana skin with maximum embarrassment' written all over it after yesterday.

Hope he's more positive on the pitch than when he posts on here.

No chance, fancy us to win fyffe-nil.

The coast road out of Barrow is lovely. Roy's Ices on the beach at Bardsea is worth a visit. Roa Island and the view to Walney and Piel is good too.
I suspect that hotels will not be cheap generally - the Lake District is full and Barrow is the overflow.
-
Does anyone have any details of tickets? It's only 1 week away.
-
Doesn't seem that Barrow have even got them on sale yet.
-
Thanks, I was beginning to think that I had missed something despite constantly checking the OS.
-
Dimitri Sea...what a brilliantly dubious name.
But BV is right, if he's anything to do with Demitri_C, we don't want more negativity.
-
Hurry up Villa and put them tickets on sale
-
Barrow put up the details today. Villa have 662 tickets. There's are on sale to Season tickets holders then members then general sale on Saturday.

It's the H&V version of Thee OhSees/OCS/Osees etc
-
Well Dean Smith can pick whatever team he wants for this one because we haven’t got any need to rest up players as they need the minutes for fitness apparently

Big thanks to the handful of people in the 15+ category who didn't grab a ticket to this. As a 12+ (and all 19/20 League Cup games) managed to get one at lunchtime today. Ground number 47 all set.
That makes at least three of us doing the trip starting in London. Eight and a half hours of trains and an overnight stay.
-
Need a strong eleven to get minutes into legs.
-
0840 Alarm clock goes off
0848 Set up an account on Barrow AFC website
0912 Two tickets purchased and printed out.
0915 Back to bed to continue Saturday lie-in.
-
Need a strong team definitely. Id start steer, targett, wes, JPB and tuanzebe. Otherwise strong.
I think
Steer
Guilbert - konsa ---tuanzebe---targett
JPB----nakamba----luiz-----chuk----,AEG

Ensure ings mcginn, hause young and maybe couble youngsters on bench

Well I would have certainly gone with something similar but I think it's a great opportunity against a lower and lesser league 2 side to play the side with have selected by Dean Smith today.

3rd round draw will be made tomorrow evening at about 10pm with scab 6 etc entering the tournament.
-
Rochdale next or stevenage if they get through please
-
Hope we play pretty much the same Villa team in the next round, some of these youngsters are the future and they look good.

I'm with you. Archer, JPB and CC for sure should play and Steer. Then decisions on others.
Tuanzebe and Hause as well. Depending how injury suspension are.

It would be even better to get them consecutively in the next three rounds!

Never mind Stevenage, Rochdale away suits me fine - The Crown Oil Arena (No longer Spotland) is just 2 miles down the main road from our house.

Boundary Park can't be too far away?
Either would suit me, but I'd prefer Spotland, another to tick off my list.

Stevenage is near me so that would have been ideal but they lost on pens.
A league one team woukd be ideal so we can play some of the kids again. If we were to draw a big side like city or chelsea it could be counter productive if those teams went in strong.

Sorry, I meant that's the probability, mathematically. I don't know of any bookies offering odds and, if they did, they'd be worse than that so they could build in their profit margins. You used to be able to bet on the coin toss in cricket and both teams would be odds on.

Villa away to Chelsea. FFS.
-
Oh FFS!
-
Bollocks
-
Best hope they play their reserves.
-
If there's a good time to play them it's this round. They've bigger fish to fry.
I'm deluded, aren't I?
-
Chelsea reserves.
Maybe Dean plays some of the under 18's this time to give them chance
-
No problem for our kids!
-
Couldnt have been any harder other than city. Even Chelsea's B team is good. Fucking joke
-
Not one of the other contenders are going out even if we do get through. Atrocious draw. Arsenal home to Wimbledon and Man City home to Wycombe. Absolute shite.
-
Initial reaction to the draw ? Fuck off.

Who is the clueless female presenting the draw?

We are winning the FA Cup this season.
-
Another one for Sky?
-
Who is the clueless female presenting the draw?
What makes you think she's "clueless", her gender? She's literally reading out names of football teams, I'm not sure how you manage to gauge her levels of expertise from that.
-
Come on Cam, they're shitting themselves already in West London !

Chelsea's team from the Third Round last season...
Caballero, Azpilacueta, Tomari, Thiago Silva, Emerson, Barkley, Kovacic, Hudson-Odoi, Havertz, Mount, Abraham.
Ermm... they don't seem to play many kids.

Another routine away win awaits.

What's Danny Ings's record against Chelsea like? Cameron will need some back up!

Why ? What has done wrong. She seems pretty good to me.

Repeat of 2006 when we had the free coaches and took 6k there.

Agreed.
Out of order and tbf a bit of a clueless comment.
-
Never voting for that twat Kevin Phillips' sister in law again after that.
-
Well it was fun.
-
Who is the clueless female presenting the draw?
I blame the suffragettes. I always said giving them the vote was the thin end of the wedge.
-
Feel sorry for the kids as they've earned a chance to start again, but I don't think many will after that abomination of a draw.
-

Caroline Barker - been involved with non-league football for many years as well as reporting on professional football. She was a director of Chelmsford City (Nigel Spink's original club) at one point.
-
Another one for Sky?
Could be. Wolves v Spurs also?
-
Chelsea away twice in a fortnight followed by away games at Man United and then Spuds Thats a tough run for sure

Yeah, and what sort of colours are white, purple and green? That's nearly as bad as Norwich.
-
I dont think it will be on tv to be honest and i hope it isnt. The less tv coverage the more chance i think we have
No way will we go as weak as we did against barrow
-
I’d play the same team as Barrow - why not?
-
Will we get a 6k allocation like last time

Top man cd well said.
-
Let's put out our strongest team and try and get past them, we need to be going for the Cup as it's a realistic chance of European Football which the Club seems to crave.
Very hard to get it through the League so let's go all out and put the big guns out against Chelsea.
I expect a weakened side though and a 4/5/6 -0 Defeat. Shame
-
I’d play the same team as Barrow - why not?
Because I want to win a cup and that means playing the team that gives us the best chance of doing so. If we find out Chelsea are playing the kids we can play a similar team. If, as is more likely, they play a strong team then so should we.
-
I’d play the same team as Barrow - why not?
Because as well as they played last night, that team would get well beaten by any current Chelsea side resembling the their first team.
If we’re serious about trying to go far in cup competitions, we have to play our strongest 11 in this one.
-
I’d play the same team as Barrow - why not?
I wouldn't. Bit of a difference between Chelsea's Reserves and Barrow's Elite.
-

I wouldn't. Bit of a difference between Chelsea's Reserves and Barrow's Elite.
And I'm not sure it will be Chelsea's reserves, anyway. I imagine Steer and, maybe, Tuanzebe will be the only non-regulars. We might play whichever of Young/Targett isn't starting in the league, too.
I suppose there is a reasonable chance that at least two or three of the Barrow kids will be off on loan by then, anyway, rendering it a moot point.
-
Chelsea's team from the Third Round last season...
Caballero, Azpilacueta, Tomari, Thiago Silva, Emerson, Barkley, Kovacic, Hudson-Odoi, Havertz, Mount, Abraham.
Ermm... they don't seem to play many kids.
Well... hopefully Barkley plays again.
-
He'll play the reserves again. Only time he hasn't in cup games was semi finals and final in 2020 league cup.

True, but how many times have we played a top team's first team in other cup games? There is no comparable fixture in the early rounds to guess our lineup by.

Hope he picks a full strength team but I am sceptical. I suspect Dean is like the majority of managers and prioritises the league massively. Which is bizarre when you consider how limited the opportunities to win honours are for the majority of clubs.
-
^ absolutely this. Last years defeat to Stoke was one of our most disappointing results for me.
-
But how many tickets will we get

Agreed she's definitely not 'clueless', or 'hot'.
-
Chelsea are playing Spurs on the Sunday before, so I presume our game will be on the Wednesday (22nd)?
-
We’ll go in to the game as underdogs for sure, but it will be a good test and experience for whichever starting XI Dean picks…every game is winnable so hopefully at least a good performance…and may be a good result.
-

Good spot, I'd imagine you're right. They also have Man City the following Saturday lunchtime which could, hopefully, increase the chances of them resting a few.

He has tended to play quite a few first teamers, or at least fringe players. Even Quisling got a run out at Burton last season. I imagine the team will be short of full strength but a lot closer to it than it was yesterday. If the likes of Archer, the Chuckwle Brothers, Ramsey II and JPB are on loan by then, it may somewhat force his hand anyway.
-
Not an ideal draw but let's see what happens, hopefully Chelski have other priorities. Pissed off about Citeh getting another easy draw.
-
2 trips to Stamford Bridge in 10 days.
-
These draws are fixed. How donciteh always get easy teams.
-
After we play Chelsea, We will be able to prioritise the league until January
-
For me is should be Steer + full strength (1 or 2 outfield changes max).
It may be a chance to rotate in the likes of Watkins, Targett etc if they're on the bench at that point.
-
Who is the clueless female presenting the draw?
Whenever she was on “Quest” during our championship years, she always brought some life to the presenting role. I’d rather listen to her any day than pricks like Murphy, Mills etc.
A clueless comment.

The person in question i have no idea if she is any good or not. I didnt see anything wrong with her yesterday though. I think alex scott is a brilliant pundit better than those two clowns you mentioned. Mills and murphy are terrible

These draws are fixed. How donciteh always get easy teams.

-
If you want to talk easy draws, I wouldn't say citeh had an easy one last season. Away at Burnley before Arsenal then manure. Unlike their opponents, who had a walkover in rd3, beat Chelsea on pens, then had only Stoke and Brentford keeping them from Wembley.
-

Oh, right. So, it's a conspiracy theory involving just Citeh; not the Scab6 generally.
Okay; whatever.
-
The draws aren't fixed. What a load of bollocks.
Surprised, as it isn't like the poster in question to believe mindless conspiracy theories...
-
Of course the draw isn't fixed, it is literally blind luck. Unless the scab six draw each other they are always going to be favourites.

Completely agree! She was presenting the game with Barrow the other night alongside Lee Hendrie and Glen Murray. I quite enjoyed the chat and banter between them and she didn’t come across as clueless to me at all.

How can someone be an anti vaxxer who has had the vaccine?
So as expected i didnt share any conspiracy theories.
This is a thread about the league cup not covid so lets keep it on subject
-
Good, then. So you're not an idiot, you just support the right of other idiots to endanger lives.

Good, then. So you're not an idiot, you just support the right of other idiots to endanger lives.
I support freedom of speech and choice just to correct you. I dont beleive in divide which is what happened. You can have vaccine and still have a different opinion from others
As i say this is aleague cup thread. Plenty of covid threads if you want go discuss in one of those 🙂
-
Sure. I don't generally. Just annoys me when people put the "freedom" of conspiracy theory loving arseholes ahead of the freedom of vulnerable people to actually stay alive.
Freedom of speech is not the same as freedom to act with impunity regardless of how your actions may effect others. In any case, nobody with an IQ over single figures believes in total freedom of speech, anyway.
-
I know the date's still TBC, but if anyone is planning on going to the Chelsea game via Chiltern, there's engineering work taking place around Bicester late at night (after 23:35). The 22:33 from Marylebone to Brum isn't affected, but there's a bus replacement running for part of the journey for the last train back at 23:07.
-
Oh well. The only thing the Blues and the Baggies drew was a night off.
-
I'm usually for playing the kids in these fixtures but looking at it, I hope we play the first team for once. Chelsea have Tottenham away the game before and City at home the game after, so 2 hard games will mean they're likely to put the stiffs out, albeit the 200m stiffs . We have the plastic mancs the game after so i'd say concentrate on Everton at home and the Cup as the priorities.
-
You'd hope we are physically fit enough to deal with three games in a week, anyway. I agree with sickbeggar (dafuq???)... we should go for it.
-

You would like to hope so we definitely lòoked alot mroe sharper against Newcastle. Watford we looked ridiculous at points
-
If we get a good allocation it will be a good game for those that can’t normally get away tickets
-
I hope we go for it too. I hate it when we don't try.
Same team as the other night then! 😁
Just a quick, and somewhat late, comment...
When they were about to start the draw, the wankers at Sky displayed the numbers to look out for.... You can guess which clubs... Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and....... West Ham!

It's a real shame that we'll be playing a team that could rest their first-11 and still field team with half a dozen internationals. I guess now it comes to down to whether Dean wants some more experience for the kids, or whether he wants us to try and win the whole thing, because as much as I loved watching the youngsters at Barrow, if we play the same sort of side at Chelsea we'll likely to go out.

Yes, Nakamba needs to come off for Luiz for a start.

Could possibly get away with the keeper and defense that played at Barrow at a push, but otherwise McGinn luiz, Ings, Watkins, Bailey (if fit) buendia, all need to come back with the kids as options on the.
bench.
I was speaking to Albion mate last night, who was really pissed off at the side they picked for the Arsenal game. Having virtually half your team being kids making their first team debuts against an established premier league side, is just not picking a competitive side and if I was one of their supporters who had paid I’d be seriously pissed off. What’s competitive is subjective of course and us doing the same against Barrow, with all due respect to them, is not the same. However, if we were to play that same side against Chelsea away, I would argue we were not picking a side that could compete and it would be totally unfair to the thousands that will presumably travel down.
-
after travelling the world to get to Barrow we better compete and put out a first 11.- no more Moscow's ever.
-
Our starting 11 at Barrow cost £48m. (and there's was £0m).
Arsenal's against that lot was £250m! God knows what Chelsea's would be.

Will the owners be paying for free coach travel ?
-
Just f$%k the f#$kers.
I think it's good to play them early in the comp, they will have other things on their mind.
We will win, JPA scoring a worldly for the winner.

Yea it is a possibility that go weak as 3rd round. But their b team is excellent too. If we go with team that played barrow we wilm get trounced so we will have to fo stronger i think. I would still play archer though after his last game.

wonder if Friedel will come in for Guzan?

I don't like the new thread title, it is tempting fate. Please revert it until if/when we win.
