Brizzle will be deflated after yesterday, we'll be inflated. 2-1 to us and our Russian comes of age.
-
2-1

1-1

1-1

Fuck the fuckers! 3-1.
-
0-0

Who knows. Any score is possible.
-
We'll put our fists all over this lot and then funeral them.
1-0.
-
Based on other peoples opinions that you need a squad to compete these days; it's a definite home win. I must be one of the few who actually have a dislike of Brizzy City so come on your lions.
-
1-0 Hogan it is New Year
-
If my memory serves *hollow laugh* when we were on a good cup run in the 50s, might have even been the year we won it we played Sheffield United, Middleborough and Bristol City in succession. The Meaning Evil published a song sheet to be sung to the tune of Tipperary that went "goodbye Bristol City, farewell Middleborough" except we were expected to pronounce Middleborough Middlesbro to rhyme with "long way to go to Wembley, a long way to go". Needless to say only the nerks sang it.
-
Villa to click and run out 3-1 winners (yes I have had a few drinks)
-
I'm going. We need to make me happy so a glorious 1-0 victory is required.
I've just looked at last January and February results. Shockingly bad. Let's hope it's different in 2018.
-
I dont know. Not even a feeling. Shrug. Hope we win!
-
Fancy us big time tomorrow...3-1 win.
-
A win.
-
1-0 Hogan it is New Year
-
Scrappy win, 1-0.
-
A new year hangover. 2-0 to us
-
Not fooled by the Boro result. Bristol will turn us over.
-
A 2-1 win for the Villa. Adomah & Davis for us. Baker for them
-
We'll bore them into a comatose state then Davis will bobble one into their net for the win off a Hutton hoof from inside our box. That is if Bruce doesn't tell everyone how well plucky Bristol City are doing considering how small and lowly they are.
-
I see a shit crowd with plenty of season ticket holders not bothering given the day and kick off time.
-
1- 2

Sounds like a battle of the beach balls. Let’s take them on at Weston.
-
Draw 1-1
-
I'd go with;
Johnstone
Hutton
Terry (if fit) or Elphick if not (but on the right)
Chester
Elmo
Jedinak
Hourihane
Grealish (both in the far more advanced positions they had second half against Boro)
Adomah
Snodgrass both wide
RHM up top.
Murphy has that pace and mobility and I think he'd cause Baker no end of grief.

Did you spend some time inside with Ronnie Barker and Richard Beckinsale?
-
1-1 I think. But maybe not.
-
Think they will be too good for us 1-2.
-
0-0
-
It'll be interesting to see who starts in goal

I like the episode where Beckinsale/Godber reminisces about his high hopes one year for Villa in the cup, only to lose 1-0 to Rotherham. An awful game.Credit to the scriptwriters for their research.

Why the late kick-off time and not on Sky?
-
Why the late kick-off time and not on Sky?
Because Bristol City played at 17:30 on Sat and there's at least 48 hours between games
-
Johnstone
Hutton Terry (if fit) or Elphick if not (but on the right) Chester Elmo
Jedinak
Hourihane Grealish Adomah
RHM Davis
3-0

What's a nerk?

I'm chuffed after realising it's not on telly, means we may win.

As we've seen since he's been here, having Jedinak sitting in front of the defence makes us more solid defensively, but it comes at the cost of us having to set up deeper and not be able to break as quickly. That said, we are now in the position where we've got to win games and seeing as we are hardly free flowing in attack, keeping it tight at the back might be our best chance of doing that.

1-1

1-1 Whelan.
Gerry Gow for them.

Gerry Gow for them.
Surely that score should be 2-0 to them?
-

Because Bristol City played at 17:30 on Sat and there's at least 48 hours between games
And yet Wolves get an extra 26 hours by playing tomorrow night? As if they need an further advantage....
-
Head says Brizzle win; heart says dismal, goalless draw. Happy 2018 y'all.
-
Who knows. Any score is possible.
Brilliant!!
-
What's a nerk?
I don't know , but I have heard Fletcher say it in Porridge once.
-
The fight back continues. Us 2 Wurzels 0.
-
Tight game, but am hoping being at home might just swing it our way. 1-0 Villa, Grealish to score.
-
The term nerk, as used in Porridge was a cleaned up version of berk. Berk had to be cleaned up because it was an abbreviation of Berkshire Hunt which was rhyming slang. Pedant alert. As was calling somebody a Charlie or a proper Charlie. That was a cleaned up version of Charlie Smirke ( a very famous jockey in his day) which also was a sanitized version of Berkshire Hunt.

Bristol City haven't won on New Year's Day for 103 years.
