Aly as a wing-back is a weird one. Crossing is not exactly his strong point.

He looks awful coming forward but that said in the last few games he's put in some decent crosses.

On that line up we're nailed on for a 2-0 defeat. We'll huff and puff and keep Everton at bay. They'll finally score and we'll cave. Throughout the match we'll do barely anything of note in the final third.

That is a piss poor line up. It just screams damage limitation. I've rapidly losing good will for Garde. I appreciate he's been treated like pish, but his last couple of line ups have been absolute shite and we're still the most horrendously bad side in the top flight by a distance.

The board needs sweeping clear in May.
Remi needs to go, for his own sake as much as anything. He's given up the ghost and there's no coming back. You can't recover from being this hopeless. He's not fit for purpose anymore, if he ever was.

Correct. There will always be a club willing to sacrifice its soul to stay in the PL. I reckon he'll stay with that lot, but he'll hold out for a PL gig. Someone will be fired soon enough at the bottom when next season starts.

I don't like him at all but I don't see how he's been found out. If his job is to keep teams up, then he's been very successful. Albion are on 35 points and realistically in no danger whatsoever of going down. That's worth a lot of money.

Veretout has been really poor in the last 2 matches as well. That said, he could have had more license to play between the lines in that formation and surely either he or Gil had to play as a more attacking midfield option. Why do we need to play 3 defensive midfielders when we have five defenders? All for Garde trying a new formation and he has to pick between cold vomit, warm piss and runny poo but I just can't see this working.

Heading is quite tricky compared to passing. Let's suggest that they try passing to a team mate and we can take it from there if any of them to get to grips with that.

In France maybe. I think he's been absolutely roasted in the Premiership. He'll never manage in the Premiership again after this season and if he even managers to recover any sort of desire to manage a football club again after being here, he'll be lucky. He's out of his depth, in a job he's not suited for, and we've absolutely wrecked him.

Shocking. Their first goal. (http://www.flashscores.co.uk/match/hEkkTPhs/#video)

Just got in and catching up on the thread, which as usual is the only thing that makes me smile about the Villa. So as an ex centre half thought id look at the video - load the site up - and it show 2 goals..... you couldn't make this up.

Probably 3 down by the time I post this

The first one is like those we have conceded for seemingly 10 years now
2nd goal was a good finish to be fair.

If we could just play with a bit of tempo instead of trying to play it through the entire team we might actually do ok, I've lost count of the games were we try and play it through everyone and each time it ends up with us giving the ball away.

In training these players need to learn how to head the ball and if they do win it to not give it straight away again.

Quote

A bizarre incident at the end of the first half where fourth official Kevin Friend passed out and banged his head on the dugout.

Both teams' medics quickly rushed to Friend's aid. The start of the second-half was delayed by five minutes as the officials took stock, and Friend was taken to hospital.

I am even losing faith in Garde, I mean 9-0 aggregate in the last two home games, he picked 8 defensive players today and we still ship goals like this and we aren't even organised at set pieces.
