That side never won in the league, it's hardly going to do it today. Where's Kozak gone?

Clearly Okore and Lescott can't pay twice in a week so are being tested for Tuesday.

no surprise to see Okore and Lescott rested but am really not a fan of Richards at centre back. Flabby back on bench instead of Kozak.

Doubt Sagna and Otamendi have played together many times before so we mightnt be without a sniff here

It's actuallya stronger team than I imagined.

Wonder if we can get at their sagna otamendi centre half combination today

Hutton...and Gabriel back on the bench

How on earth are they going to bloody cope in the championship?

With a spine as robust as an unset jelly, I can't say I'm feel overly optimistic about our chances. Still, 'could be worse. Possibly.

Kozak being rested? Hutton back, on the bench though. Ayew playing through the centre? No Toure or Aguero, we might stand a chance here!

I think Scott ' Goal Machine' Sinclair is playing up front. Triffick.

On Sports Extra they just played an interview with Hollis saying he 'wasn't going to waste a good crisis', and nobody knew what he was talking about.

Not sure if this has been discussed yet, chance to have a major clear out and rebuild I guess?

Did my ears just deceive me, or did Chairman Hollis just say "We're not gonna waste a good crisis" on 5Live SE??

Edit: I see somebody else (Sean) heard it too. Good grief.   :o

I agree. The whole club stinks of "couldn't give a fuck" right now, from the top down.

You hear stuff about not wanting to pay Debuchy's loan fee and see the lack of signings and you just wonder why the fuck we bother any more.

Filipe Louis (sp?) just made a filthy tackle on Messi and got sent off, tbh I don't think I'd even get close enough to kick the little fella.

It's hardly surprising with a scumbag like Simeone managing them.

Played well for 10 minutes without threatening much. The usual midfield frailties are there as Gil Gana Westwood and Veretout take it in turns to give the ball away. Defensive lack of cohesion returns and not much running off the ball.
The crowd are all resigned to a defeat and the players are too and it's not a stand out citeh line up.

People who think Bacuna, Westwood and their ilk are going to be decent players for us next season as we romp the league, I've a feeling they have a rude awakening coming, they don't understand just how poor a team we are. I'm still seeing comments bemoaning bad luck and a bit here and there could have made a difference. No chance. This team is garbage and the squad have about 5 or 6 capable players in it. Gil is your typical example, he does absolutely nothing of any significance in most games. Clark, he's poor, he's going to be the same next season. We have 2 centre backs who struggle to play 2 games in a week. Good luck to them next season. We have a board who have no idea what they are doing, they can't even conjure up a single transfer this month and we make every excuse under the sun for them.

They are as incompetent as the team. In fact the team resembles the board down to a tea. No fight, no intelligence, no nous and giving up as soon as it gets hard. Pathetic the bunch of them. The grounds half empty because no one can be arsed watching our weekly defeat anymore and we lie to ourselves that next season these muppets are going to either grow a brain or suddenly discover they can play football.

They will need to offer some sort of deal to the fans to get attendances to hold up. No marketing guff will work, we know the players are shit and boring and there isn't really any sort of workable plan by any of them because they're twats above their stations. Only cheap deals will talk.

No one is happy that we've been constantly beaten for the best part of 5 years. We need to collectively wake up though, wishful thinking that this collection of terrible players are going to do the business isn't going to help us. The more of the Westwood's, Gabby's and Sinclair's we keep next season the harder it will be for us to come back quickly. They just don't have it. Against who have they looked good the last few years?

I keep hearing this "if people think we're/Villa are going to cruise the league in the Championship...", but don't think I've actually heard any Villa fan say that they think we'll cruise the Championship next season.

There were a few (about a month ago), but they seem to have gone rather quiet lately.

FFS - Is there anyone happy with this? Are you people happy by trying to find someone that might have said something? Get a fucking grip - I am hurting with the situation.

Feeling like someone reminding you that you have an ugly nose at every fucking moment

Feel better for having a wee rant? Jolly good. Anyway, I thought you'd given up on The Villa this afternoon were watching Barca.

What an amazing set piece from Messi - amazing! great save - but still

That's the thing.  Somehow he is getting away with it.  It's been such a clever, subtle lowering of expectations every year that people no longer seem to fully take in what is going on. We will be sitting just below halfway in the Championship table  next year and folk will be saying, "Villa should be doing better than that, they're a top half Championship club..."

Lerner is destroying the club.  I'm inclined to think he is already considering pocketing the prize money we get on finishing the season. What is it for this year? 65million, I think.  That will cover the price he bought us for.
