Unlike under the last days of Lambert, we'll at least go up there and create chances. It'll be interetsing to see whether he sticks with the two in midfield and two wingers like he's been doing. I can't call it either way but we're good enough to get a point at least.

I remember last time we went there we actually created quite a few chances, but that our finishing was rubbish while theirs was clinical, so hopefully Benteke brings his shooting boots this time around.

Going to be a lot of pressure on Sanchez to match Fellaini in the air.

They're going to score. We could well score against their backline.

I'll go for an optimistic 2-2.

I think that is the attitude we have to adopt in the three upcoming away games.  The TSM (I & II) philosophy was to go into these kind of games ultra defensively and if we conceded just continue that way and try and keep the score down.  I hope Sherwood is concentrating on how we can cause them problems rather than being overly conservative in his approach.

Yep definitely. If we approach it like Lambert we'd essentially just be waiting for the inevitable. One goal goes in, the heads drop then the flood gates open anyway.
We've got to approach this game like we think we can win. We may get pasted, but if we sit back trying not to lose, we'll just get spanked anyway. We might as well go for it.

I've always felt that we get beat in the tunnel up there. You've got to have a go at them. They're piss poor at the back and seem to be a rag tag jumble of attacking players thrown onto the pitch, with no other tactic than the big boot.

The walk to the ground always makes me very angry indeed.

We'll probably lose. Sherwood will go after them and that'll let them play the counter-attacking football they like so much.

On the other hand...

We'll probably win. Sherwood will surprise them by going after them from minute one, smacking up the entitled little pampered prima donnas hard.

We need to be solid for this one ......

Given
Hutton Vlaar Okare Clark Lowton
Sinclair Delph Westwood
Gabby Beneteke

Still think we will lose but need to keep the goal difference down

And think Given could be more solid at moment - Guzan looks like he did when first came into team at moment

As someone who attended this fixture for decades and missed our one win every century in 2009, good luck to all those going and I hope we smash 'em. I will celebrate with a cigar and brandy if we manager to pull it off but head tells me play the kids, doesn't matter how well we play something psychological about this fixture that frightens our players, creates ridiculous refereeing decisions and inspires average Man U players to the performance of their lives. Take our annual beating with good humour and keep our powder dry for QPR on Tuesday.

Hope the lessons of the Swansea game have been learned, we set up with two in midfield today and we will be hammered. Sherwood seems set of leaving Guzan as number one, would be surprised if Given came back in though there isnt much in it. Sinclair hasnt shown up in his away games for us so far, marginal call maybe to push Cleverley further forward and bring Bacuna into the middle. Not a game for Nzogbia, we need mobile front players to press them high up the park to have any hope. I think we will need Sanchez in this one to deal with the threat of Fellaini in the air.

               Guzan
Hutton, Okore, Clark, Lowton
               Sanchez
        Cleverley, Delph
  Sinclair, Benteke, Gabby

To be honest I think it'll be a miracle if we get something, but we stand a better chance by attacking them.

I've just caught the first of many trains to get to OT. I've seen 2 of our 3 post-war wins there but am not too confident that this will be the 4th. At least I don't think we'll be a walkover this time.
good on you.
Coming from Sussex, you'll probably be travelling with loads of plastic mancs!

I think that this is the one where we will really have a go.More importantly , if we go one down, we won'the just accept it and change nothing as in recent years.United have their flaws this season and, currently we could just be that irritating side that spoils their afternoon.Draw.

Not in First Class. I paid the upgrade to avoid them!

Closest game of the season for me. I have to pick something up from the Trafford Centre after the game. The last time I had to do that after the football was 2009...

I did that once and it took me two hours to get off the Trafford Centre car park.

3-1 to them.  Can see it being close for about 65-70 mins but see them having too much for us over the course of 90 minutes.  But there is nothing for us to fear and we just have to give it a go, all the preasure is on them.

A point today, a win tuesday, and then an upset for Blackburn over Liverpool in the Cup would make it a great week :)

i'l be watching this match in the Plough, newport pagnell packed full of utd fans,

last time I did this (when Bent scored that goal) I had to be taken out for my own safety,
having said that I was badmouthing them all pretty bad, as I know most of them and they are decent enough chaps that turn into absolute wankers when Utd are on telly

should be an interesting afternoon

1-1.

I'd be delighted with that, but I fear we're in for a beating.

I think we'll make it very difficult for them and we'll get a point. Their back line is nothing special at all and especially their CB's. I like Benteke's chances against them with some good service which will be critical. My biggest concern is managing Fellaini who is an awkward bastard and he's very confident right now.
