Guzan, Vlaar, Senderos, Hutton, Cissokho, Delph, Westwood, Richardson, N’Zogbia, Weimann, Agbonlahor.
Subs: Given, Baker, Bacuna, Cole, Bent, Sanchez, Grealish

Win please Villa, bit concerning that Okore still isn't in the squad.
-
Fucking hell still no Okore :(
2-0 to us.
-
Thought we'd see Sanchez start, but not to be yet.
Come on lads, we need a win.
Wish this was on TV.
-
Looks like 4 4 2 no creativity in midfield 0 - 0 No Lowton and Clark in the squad are they the next out the door?
-
sticking ten quid on tom ince to score. Otherwise he definitely will.
Don't mention it. One for the team.
-
Fucking hell still no Okore :(
2-0 to us.
Not in the squad is a slight concern but I certainly wouldn't drop Senderos yet.

Same line up has been 433/451 so far (hasn't it?) - so I doubt it's 442.
It's a versatile line up, in all honesty.
We can be fluid, you'd hope. We just need to be better going forward.

Need 3 points here, next five games are horrendous.
-
It's depressing to see Hull having a number of players I'd like us to have. Their midfield is good. I really rate Quinn, too. Never stops working.

Agreed. Yeah that's what I mean, he played in every pre season game now hasn't even been named in a competitive squad since that knee injury in training.
-

I'd have Huddlestone and Jelavic of their starting XI today, but I'm not sure where else I would take their player over ours.
Possibly Ince and Davies.

Completely agree on not dropping Senderos but Okore's continued absence is becoming a big worry.
-
No Vlaar is a concern. With Okore not fit still would like to see Clark rather than Baker take up his role. Agree that this might be a good game to give Grealish a run around (and yes I know that kind of makes him sound like a old dog, but I couldn't resist ???). Think I might start Sachanz on the bench, but then bring him on at half time depending on how the game is going. Think there are tougher matches we might need him for. 1-0 or 2-1 to us would do me nicely. Need to give the home fans something to shout about.
-
Vlaar's playing.
-
I would take Ince. Davies is probably better than Senderos at their best, but not sure. Jelavic is ok, and a good goalscorer but no better than an interested Bent.
I am sure Lambert said Okore would not be ready until after the international break the other day so not really shocked on that one.
The idea that Baker is now clearly in front of Clark is not good for him at all - and not something I agree with!
-
I'd love us to somehow have a barnstorming, gung-ho approach to this. Just go and win the game! Claim Villa Park as your own again Villa! Finger crossed.
-

Those four, yeah. I wouldn't mind Quinn as a squad player.

Eh?

I am sure they are looking at Delph and thinking the same ......
-
Almohamody is one of their key players.
-
I'd hope so. He's our best midfielder.
-
It's probably the team I'd have picked though I wonder what Delph could do in the more advanced midfield role
Width is a concern. Looks like they'll be playing 352 so I expect the key factors today to be:
Which midfield three is dominant - I'd guess it will be reasonably equal
Our wide forwards versus their defence. Do we get left almost three on three up front but risk their wing backs getting loads of space? Or do our wide forwards get in a battle with their wing backs and either get sucked back into deep positions of push them back to be a defensive minded back five?
In theory it's formations like our 433 that started to make 3 at the back seem redundant. Let's hope we can cause them some real problems

On TV here. I can experience my misery, concern and possible ecstasy in crystal clear HD.

Two very even sides on paper. If Zogbia and Gabby turn up today, I'd fancy us. Particularly in the case of the latter, it's a big if.
My main hope is that we play Gabby left and Andi through the middle this time, to do them both a favour. Gabby's fluffed a few chances this season and his pace will be better used wide, and Andi is done no favours playing wide. He can put a chance away if he gets it, but he needs to play through the middle.
-
See what I've been reduced to? Lovely balmy late August afternoon, and I've felt compelled to dig out the "lucky" scarf. Now a bit sweaty.
I hope you're bloody happy, Villa.

This. Oh god, this.
It's bugging me seeing Gabby up top and Andi out wide. They need to swap. Weimann is much better through the middle, whereas Gabby can use his pace against fullbacks and cut in from out wide to give slow Dawson problems today.

where the hell has that scarf been for the past four years!
-
I don't think they are better than us. Last season, in a stretch of abject misery we found a way to win a game, at Villa Park, comfortably against this lot. We have as close to a full side out (long term injuries aside) which has played really quite well in the league so far. At some point the goals have to come because we have created some decent chances. I was actually hoping Bent started today after some positive words from Lambert so we'll need to see how Weimann and Gabby do. But surely for Gabby something has to give and he can come back to the form we know he is capable of.

Andi had his best game of the season in the corrosponding fixture last season, playing through the middle. Two goals to boot.
-
Hull were literally playing in cotton wool for the cup final though, today will be a much tougher game. I expect a narrow defeat, would probably take a draw and be delighted with a much needed win considering the next 5.

I'd like Lambert to change things in good time if they need to be. If Gab or Andi aren't doing it, we need to bring on Benty with ample time to nick a goal. Giving him 5-10 minutes probably isn't enough.
That said, I'm hoping we can bring Benty on with the job done and dusted already.
-
We aren't winning yet. Lambert out!

Paul McShane is one of the worst footballers in the top two divisions and looks to be at left back it seems. If Nzogbia cant get into form today well......
Seems like Jelavic up front on his own, something he isnt great at.
they look really average.
our selection is poor, maybe Sanchez not quite fit enough yet
-
Mario is playing today somewhere
That's all that matters, Apparently
-
Mario is playing today somewhere
On his Kart
-
Another low crowd here. With Hull not fill looks like sub 30k at the moment.
-
Nice move.
-
When we start playing well at home, our crowds will improve. Our football is my concern really.
-
Nice, N'Zogbia didn't look pleased though.
-
needed to cut that back but good move
-
Great bit of play from Gabby leading up to that.
-
Mario is playing today somewhere
On his Kart
He's just missed a sitter
-
Hit the bar, half a foot it was in. Good effort. Richardson did well at the start of it, he does look a good player Richardson.
-
Great move started with a great ball from Aly. Good stuff.
-
Started very well.
-
Midfielders bombing forward. Clear difference already.
-
the attendance looks terrible. Mid 20's maybe
-
F*ck me, the ground looks deserted! Some good passing and keeping the bar. We don't look at all worried, which is good.
-
Is it on the radio anywhere?
-
How was that not a foul on Richardson then?
-
we are just so devoid of ideas as we hit the final third. It slows down completely. Just there N'Zogbia breaks winds up against two players and has to play it back. Where's the movement to give him some forward options?
-
richardson through then

Gabby comes out and stands on the wing too rather than making runs!

Hats off to that many wanting to go to see the dirge we serve up at home

Gabby!!!!!! Get in!! Up the Villa!

5 Live at 1.45 I believe for those who can't get WM
-
Fucking great goal. Deserved too. We are slapping our dicks all over them.
-
well done senderos? winning ball and great move
-
Nice move and lovely Gabby finish. Let's see more of that Gabby. In the right position to be effective
-
Nice goal
-
Yessssss!!!!!
-
Yes!!! Well done Gabby
-
70% possession
-
70% possession. Wow
-
70% possession. Barcevilla
-
good finish from Gabby
Potato head's decision to play with three centre halves is absolutely ridiculous
-
Fuck me Villa. Nearly again from a Gabby break
-
Really, good stuff.
-
nearlky two
-
Lambert's done it! THIS is how the team should play. Lambert has finally found something that works. This is not what I expected, not in the least.
-
We look good so far. Keep it up Villa.
-

don't mean to be a miserable fucker, but do you recall Stoke last season when we all thought the same? I want to see a bit more before I'm pulling out the bunting
-

Cheers, I'll see if I can find it digitally as I have no FM radio in the house.

???

Up to 3rd
-
Gabby looks supercharged
-
From the Beeb:
Aston Villa 1-0 Hull
Villa look full of running, getting in behind the defence at will. Gabriel Agbonlahor gets round the back but his low cross is well dealt with this time. Hull need to hang on in there.
-
gaaby started well
-
I'm not saying we'll do this every game now, but what's really encouraging is that this isn't just a couple of guys playing well, though they are - the movement and teamwork is great. That's not been the case since the end of his first season.
-
Sod's law. First home game in yonks i'm not there and we play well.
-
N'Zogbia wearing the new 50p shaped boots
-

It's really quite strange what happened last season for the majority. Early days yet too, mind.
-
A lot of players seem to be slipping over.
-
The joy of NZog is he wants to be positive. So does Richardson, which means we try and get on the front foot.
A decent centre forward and a good wideman would really push this side on now.
-
nzogbia so frustrating
hutton so composed
-

I dont know jim, think Nzogbia and Rico have been utterly useless so far. Gabby and Weimann doing well
-

as a winger what really let's him down is his first touch. It is awful, and because of that does not allow him the room he needs to run at defenders and hit spaces with his pace.
-
hutton so composed
Who would have thought it? I certainly thought during McLeish's time he was shit.
-
nzogbia so frustrating
must be fit then
-
Weimann has passed ok, but lacks pace and guile so gets caught in possession too much out wide for me.
Can't agree on Richardson, he has won 3-4 tackles and looked nimble and got his head up.
-
Modern technology, eh? I subscribe to The Times and they have sent me a video clip of Gabby's goal! Very kind of them. And very good of Gabby to make me so happy.
(Sterling's goal too for Liverpool - very good move)
-
ive been looking for shane long
idiot ;/
-
Cissokho is a big lad, positions himself well and really makes space hard to come by for the right winger/midfield players.
-
Our kit looks fucking great.
-
From the Beeb:
Aston Villa 1-0 Hull
It's been all Villa, as Fabian Delph shoots wide again from long range. Impressive scenes from the home team.
-
there the sort that go in
-
Weimann has passed ok, but lacks pace and guile so gets caught in possession too much out wide for me.
Can't agree on Richardson, he has won 3-4 tackles and looked nimble and got his head up.
Weimann has a pathetic first touch but has been getting in good positions on the ball.
Richardson seems to be given a free role behind Gabby but isnt making himself available for passes from our midfield duo. Dont think he adds anything at all centrally for us. Might be worth swapping him and Nzogbia for a bit.
Hull improving now, we have gone into our shell since the goal. Huddlestone much more involved
-
why on earth is Weimann taking the corner? He clearly had no clue what he was doing.
-
Great break there.
-
Decent corner from Andi.
-
Cissokho is a big lad, positions himself well and really makes space hard to come by for the right winger/midfield players.
It's possible that he just *might* be a really good left back, rather than just being better than Bennett and Luna. Here's hoping, it looks promising.
-
YEAAAHHH!!! Weimann!!!!1 Get in!
-
Listening to R5Live, we seem to be doing well! Weimann!!!!
-
YESSSSSSSS
-
ggooallll
-
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL
-
good move
-
What's going on here? *puzzled*
-
Brilliant move. Richardson bombing on again creating the space.
Great ball too from Gabby, and then Richardson, and quality finish.
Well played Villa.
-
Another good goal. Bastards are doing it on purpose because i'm not there.
-
Gabby AND Weimann scoring in the same game. Blimey.
-
YESSSSS!!!! Gabby and Weimann, looks fucking ace to see that
-
Was that Curtis Davies having a nightmare?
-
YEAAAH!
-
What a fucking lovely Villa goal!!!!!!!
Cissokho is a big lad, positions himself well and really makes space hard to come by for the right winger/midfield players.

I agreed he's a proper LB Risso with a lot of experience and understanding of the game at this level. Liverpool fans were wrong about him. He's been very good. As has big Phil
-
great move for the goal, Weimann very calm on the ball took time and placed it in
-
Brilliant stuff, Villa. Keep it up.
-
Lovely stuff. Really good goal again.
-
Great linking up for those 2 goals
-
What's going on here? *puzzled*
Beautiful though isn't it?

Who are they and what have they done with Aston Villa?
-
my eyes do no believe what they are seing
-
Who are they and what have they done with Aston Villa?
The Roy Keane effect ;)
-
Now come on Cleverley, join the party and help make us great again
-
From the Beeb:
GOAL - Aston Villa 2-0 Hull - Andreas Weimann (36 mins)
A really nice goal again from Aston Villa, who are playing some cracking stuff today. A flowing move down the left ends at the feet of Kieran Richardson, he takes his time and picks out Andreas Weimann 10 yards out, and he makes no mistake, crashing home left-footed.
Three shots on target for Villa all season - three goals...
-
my eyes do no believe what they are seing
Clean sheet, two goals at home, both forwards scoring, the majority of possession.....
-
We are fucking all over this lot. Gabby great chance again
-
Could have been 3!
-
save from gabby
-
my eyes do no believe what they are seing
Clean sheet, two goals at home, both forwards scoring, the majority of possession.....
you'll wake up in a cold sweat in a minute with your mum sitting next to you telling you everything will be ok
-
Gabby, great attempt.
-
Who are they and what have they done with Aston Villa?
The Roy Keane effect ;)
And more specifically, who's that playing in the number 11 shirt, and where have they hidden Gabby's body?
-
Lovely, lovely from Delph
-
sanchez and grealish on the bench too ;)
-
my eyes do no believe what they are seing
Clean sheet, two goals at home, both forwards scoring, the majority of possession.....
you'll wake up in a cold sweat in a minute with your mum sitting next to you
That may be acceptable in Canada, TV......
-
Bugger me, nearly 3.
Fantastic, best I've seen us play in a long time.
-
Also I believe we are the only team not to concede in the Prem.
-
Fuck me off the bar
-
Close again
-
Did Gabby glance at his contract this morning?
-
Richardson's positive's play is helping us. For a long time from midfield our only forward-thinking player has been Delph, having someone else trying to push on, making runs, looking up and finding space is improving our play.
-
lovely free kick from Ash
-
westwood hits woodwork
-
Who are they and what have they done with Aston Villa?
The Roy Keane effect ;)
Ha! Well, maybe he has helped. If it were all him he'd be managing Barcelona, because this is some turnaround, but I think it appears to be a combination of a better backroom team than Culversa and Karhouse, better and more experienced players especially in defence, players like Westwood and Weimann taking that confidence and becoming better players themselves, and, I dunno, Jesus or something. This is a hell of a turnaround.
-
Great to hear our players being praised by commentators!
Free kick, come on, almost there, 'brilliant kick' ooh so close!
-
I love you Aly
-
Would it be disrespectful to Hull to bring Sanchez on already?
-
Great free kick, unlucky.
-
Westwood knocks the post unconscious.
-
Weimann has passed ok, but lacks pace and guile so gets caught in possession too much out wide for me.

;D rico did well there, nice pass for weimann who finished well. shocking goal for Hull to concede but Delph and Gabby doing well again there, picking the right passes.
we could really hammer these today. Davies and Dawson are solid centre halves but not in a three at the back. Davies is having some nightmare. The Egyptian lad at right wing back is getting torn apart by Weimann and Gabby. All our progress has been in the channel between Davies and the right back
-
Who are they and what have they done with Aston Villa?

I speak in jest off course. Yes it is a combination of many things including that back line looking really excellent. We've gone from Lowton/Vlaar/Baker/Bennett or Bertrand to adding three players will international experience. Proper players at this level. They won't be with us for next seasons CL campaign but good enough to get us there :)
-
What a lovely half of football. Perfect.
-
very positive first half - could have been 4
proper full backs - loving them both
more creativity today , some great football around and outside the box-
experience has helped us
225 mins without conceding a goal this season
-
Lambert: "We were really poor today."
-
Excellent first half. Well done lads.
-
That is as solid a first half as I can remember from Villa in a good while
-
Good first half effort. Would be heartening to see a full 90 minute performance and not let them back in the game.
Cissokho, Richardson and Senderos for a few million looks a deal. We might struggle the next 5 games but against sides we are more on par with we are better matched.
-
Also I believe we are the only team not to concede in the Prem.
Correct.
-
Senderos looks very composed out there. Not what most of us have considered of him in his career. He's really helping Ron Vlaar
-
Must've copped a bake after that midweek capitulation.
It's paid off thus far.
-
Best we've played since that 30 minute spell against Norwich last season. All over them.
Fullbacks have been positive. We've pressed well in their half. Gabby has been as good as he's been for ages. Weimann has been sharp. Zog has been lively and I've been impressed with Rico. Delphy has been top class too and Westy is playing like a man who doesn't want to lose his place to a potentially incoming Tom Cleverley.
Got to see this out now and keep on the front foot. Lets rack up a few more now. I don't want us to take our foot off the gas. Stay tight and then we can give Jack 20 minutes with a bit of freedom to express himself.
-
Also I believe we are the only team not to concede in the Prem.
Correct.
I was going to say Spurs but they are losing 1-0 at the moment.
-
Great half of football. The turnaround is amazing. Well done to the whole team and it's especially pleasing to see Gabby scoring and contributing much more.
We just need to pray that Ron isn't plucked from us tomorrow. Can't see it happening now though.
-
Must've copped a bake after that midweek capitulation.
It's paid off thus far.
A lot of these players didn't play and we had chances to win that game. It was poor no doubt as we still should have looked after our business, but our league side is a bit different to what we put out in the week
-
Really good half for us.
I hope it is not just early season promise (we were good the first 3 last season too).
Some of the additions have really changed us as a side. Richardson gets beyond the forwards time and again which creates problems, Cissokho is a beast of a footballer who as less than 2 million we have done brilliantly to get, Senderos is a significant upgrade on Baker and Hutton looks solid.
I think NZogbia is still feeling his way back to fitness, when he gets stick it is easy to forget he was out for an entire year.
-
It's like watching Not-Us v Us!!
-
If we continue playing like this the next five games may not be the complete nightmare everybody expects.
-
Surprised to see the ground so empty.
-
Change of shape from Hull.
-
The only disappointing element NZogbia so far.
-
Hull look rubbish, which is a relief but we're looking pretty confident overall so I'm quietly pleased with this...
-
Great closing down by Gabby. He's like a man possessed! Long may it continue.
-
I missed why Curtis Davies went off - was it injury?
-
The only disappointing element NZogbia so far.
At least he is working hard and trying to have us going forward.
He needs 8 or so games to get back to full fitness I reckon.
-
Tactical change
-
I missed why Curtis Davies went off - was it injury?
They said tactical. He was on a booking and think was the best one of the 3 at the back to remove.
-
Decent attempt from Senderos...
-
I missed why Curtis Davies went off - was it injury?
Changing from 3 centrebacks to just 2.
-
They have flooded the midfield now. We need to be careful we don't lose grip on this.
-
All Hull at the moment.
-
I missed why Curtis Davies went off - was it injury?
Because he's crap I believe
-
Encouraged by listening to the first half on the radio, I've come in from the garden to watch.
We'll probably be shite now!
-
you knew they would come at us for the first 15 minutes of this half. We need to weather this and hit them for a third to kill it
-
Is it time for the Rock?
-
I'd be bringing on La Roca in the next 5-10 minutes for Westy
-
Sanchez for Charlie I reckon
-
Fuck me Charlie
-
Sanchez for Charlie I reckon
That's my view.
-
Sanchez for Charlie I reckon
yep could be. Here he comes in fact
-
Charlie is shattered by 60 minutes at the moment.
-
Sanchez coming on.
-
fucking Aly Cissokho. Good defending by the big man
-
Keep ball from the villa fans again.
-
Good call Ozz. Proper ITK that
-
Very impressed with the full backs today.
-
Great block Aly.
-
Do you smell what The Rock is cooking?
-
We'd be 4 up/down if Cleverley was playing depending on your personal opinions.
-
Gabby in trouble here
ok back up...phew
-
Good call Ozz. Proper ITK that
Eh 43000 bulltwitcritters should be hanging on my next post.
-
Good to hear the crowd, hope we keep this up. We want 3!
-
Still only 2-0. Lambert out.
-
Sanchez looks to have firmed things up a little bit. Like an immodium.
-
disappointed with us on the ball second half here. Robbie Brady starting to get in a few good positions so no surprise Sanchez coming in
-
Still only 2-0. Lambert out.
fine by me. H&V prediction league is what it's all about
-
would the good people of H&V repay my £10 bet on Ince scoring - as it prevented this scenario.
Many thanks.

lots of farting, no shitting is a way to define Mr Ince
-
The midfield have stopped running in behind in the second half, which was the main feature of the first. That is more to do with Hull having more bodies in the centre of the park though.
-
Silly foul there Carlos
-
Been comfortable all game.
-
Hull's flooding of the midfield has helped. I'd perhaps bring on Grealish for Richardson.
-
shit 2-1
-
this is the Villa I don't like. We are letting the opponent has the ball way too much now. I know it is still comfortable but the better teams don't allow you back into the game. We need to keep pressing and not drop deeper and deeper.
-
And there you fucking go 2-1
-
Bollocks.
-
ffs we have gone flat this half
-
fucks sake Villa.
-
Fuck a duck. What a fucking awful goal to concede.
We end up not winning here it will be a travesty. Got to get back on the front foot.
-
How come taking a free kick without waiting for the whistle isn't classed as 'kicking the ball away'?
-
Grealish on for Ricco
-
Not surprise. We've been a bit disappointing this half.
-
Why do we never kick on in the second half?
Pissed off about that.
Jack is on now.
-
It was such a stupid free kick to give away by Sanchez. We can't get the fucking ball now.
-
we have completely lost our composure and shape and this is exactly the version of Villa we hate with a passion
-
It will be ridiculous if we don't win this now.
-
I feel these last few minutes are going to have a familiar look to them.
-
Liverpool battering Spurs is what we need to learn to do. Not stop playing, keep going at the opposition and kill the game.
Terrible shot by Delph
-
poor finish
pass to grealish
-
The return of the anxious last 15 minutes. Oh how I've missed it.
-
Great run, let himself down with the end product there.
-
I feel these last few minutes are going to have a familiar look to them.
Hull starting to press more now. Got that inevitable late goal about it.
-
Fuck me, great save from Brad
-
guzan save
-
Delph......ahhh!
-
Bent coming on
-
Been comfortable all game.
boo hiss
-
Dribble from Delph but ffs pass.
-
Got to hold on to this
-
need to win this , so important
-
Bent coming on. Got to be honest, when 2-1 up and holding on a bit he's the last player i'd be bringing on.
-
Been comfortable all game.
boo hiss
I will take the blame. Sorry lads.
-
Hopefully that will lead to a big plate of humble pie!
-
Good save Brad. We're just letting them back in it. Sounds familiar doesn't it?
-
off of off ;)
-
Fucking twat Jelavic
-
Bent coming on! Interesting. I have to say, I admire the intent.
-
Sanchez looking frustrated with little movement in front of him. Welcome to B6 Mr Rock
-
this is disgusting against Grealish
-
Fucking hell are Hull determined to cripple Jack
-
go on jack
-
They're hacking at Grealish. Nasty.
-
Gabby coming off for Bent
-
Gabby off Bent on
-
Every time Grealish has had the ball, they've hacked him down.
-
empty seats m'Lord?
-
Come on Bent! Show 'em yr still a goalscorer.
-
Bent for Gabby? Not sure about that. Bent isn't one to hold the ball up.
-
Bent looked alarmingly slow there
-
Seriously, three or four bad challenges on Grealish in a matter of minutes.
-
this is a fucking disgrace now
-
Fucking hell!
Clattenburg needs to red one to stop this.
Fucking goblin looking fucker.
-
This is fucking disgusting. Every time.
-
Great noise coming from VP.
-
three yellows on him
-
It's amazing what Grealish has actually done is taken Hull completely off their game.
-
They're taking it in turn to kick the lad. Disgusting.
-
cant believe were holding on
-
poor ball from Grealish there after some good work. Nice block by Phil
-
cant believe were holding on
it's the Villa way
-
Typical Steve Bruce tactics - if you're not good enough to deal with a player, simply kick them. Fucking fist-face...
-
5 mins
-
5 fucking minutes??? What the fuck for Clattenburg?
-
Come on boys, five minutes!
-
Typical Steve Bruce tactics - if you're not good enough to deal with a player, simply kick them. Fucking fist-face...
Is Grealish that good?
-
Fuck Bent!!!!!! C'mon
-
bent misses
-
Great pass from Ash, poor effort from Bent.
-
Oh Bent. :( Hit the target, man!
-
Bent should have scored that.
-
fuck ex bloose nearly scores guzan saves
-
Great chance for Bent. Got to score them.
-
Did anyone really think Bent was going to score then?
-
Typical Steve Bruce tactics - if you're not good enough to deal with a player, simply kick them. Fucking fist-face...
Is Grealish that good?
He's certainly getting the better of them at the moment.
-
5 minutes you fucking mutant Clattenburg?
-
they are winning all of the second balls
-
5 minutes you fucking mutant Clattenburg?
not surprising since most of that has been since Grealish came on
-
Fucking hell Brad - nicely done!
-
Come on villa
-
lovely pass from westwood there for Bent
-
Nearly there....
-
Vlaar looks fucked now
-
Stop limping Vlaar. Stop.
Please.
-
Vlaar staying off. Down to 10 men
-
Another couple of minutes to add on there I guess
-
28000 attendance. That's worrying.
-
Fuck Grealish should have had a go there
-
Yesssss all over. 2-1
-
That was a corner.
-
All over, phew!
-
YESSSSSSSSSS 2-1
-
Get in.
-
3 poiints
-
Phew. Nice one lads.
-
Harder than it should have been but good win.
-
Thank fuck.
Good win.
-
fuck me, smirkers fault that nervous finish!
-
AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
-
Top 4!
-
Whoo hoo, great performance and result!
-
Will take that.
-
Hopefully nothing major injury wise for Vlaar.
-
Ace. See you all later...
-
started a post match thread
-
28000 attendance. That's worrying.
It's the reality of no investment, an owner who wants to sell, and 4 years of rubbish.
We are getting better at holding on to these leads now ;)
Second half we stopped playing and the extra man in midfield for Hull did for us but Grealish coming on broke the game up well. Chuffed with 7 pts from 9.
UTV
-
Relieved to pick up win, but that was unnecessarily difficult at the end. A game we'd have lost last season.
-
Good result. Largely decent performance though we sat off a little too much second half. We dealt with Huddlestone but struggled a little with Aluko's pace and movement. Still much deserved 3 points.
Gabby was excellent, as was Delph. Weimann was lively. Zog was bright in the first half but faded second half. The fullbacks did well.
Jack got absolutely mullered when he came on and it was clearly a gameplan they had should he come on. A couple of slamming tackles to disrupt him, but he kept getting up though to be fair to him and looked good on the ball. Today was a lesson in how he'll get treated by defenders at this level.
In the end they didn't create much and we could have had more than 2. I was just about to put my house on Bent nicking that goal at the end, but it wasn't to be.
7 points from 3 games. We'd have taken that hands down from the first 3. It's nice to get on a good run before heading into a tough run of fixtures.
The Ron injury is possibly a mixed blessing. Hopefully it's enough that he's nailed on to stay for the time being, but not serious enough to keep him out for too long.

Edit - wrong thread
