2-1 away win. Nathan Baker with two headers. Rooney penalty for them.
-
Them 2
Us 3
Weimann x2 Benteke pen, Welbeck x2
-
1-1. Early Benteke goal and late heartbreak thanks to some jammy deflected effort for them.
-
Villa 2-0 up with a minute to go.
They get a dodgy penalty after Ashley Young dives, and score from it after Rooney's mishit shot bounces off Brad's head, then off the post and in.
5 minutes added on. de Gea comes up for a corner and scores the equaliser.
Then he does it again.
Moyes keeps his job, wins the Champions League and goes on to manage Manchester United to unprecedented success.
-
Cant see us winning, cant even see us drawing this one. Doesn't matter how good a team we are at the time, since 1995 they've usually pissed all over us and we're not a very good team at the moment. Nor are they but they'll still be too strong for us. 3-0 United.
-
We roll over again against the worst Man Utd team since football began.
Them 4 Us 1.
-
6-2 us.
-
2-2 draw with united getting a last minute equaliser.
-
2-1 away win, last minute job.
-
I have no idea. We are as capable of getting battered as we are of winning comfortably there.
-
Lose 3-2 with them getting an injury time winner in the 108th minute.
-
We'll get cheated. The Plastics will finally find some 'Fergie Dust' and get two penalties to cancel out our one goal Benteke lead.
Hate them more than any other club, not because of their success, neither because they were the richest club for so long and now their fans complain about Chelsea and Man City. No the reason I hate them is because their fans are and always have been, ******.
-
They are at there lowest ebb for a generation and we have played some good stuff recently.
3-0 to them.
-
I think we'll win this. They were all over the shop last night and just look like a team of strangers. 3 points here and 3 from Fulham will do nicely.
-
Utd will bounce back, before turning shit again. Seems to be a general pattern to their season. In addition if there's one game that Utd want to come along when they're crying out for a win, it's against us. More often than not a routine, comfortable (piss easy), 3 points in the bag.
I think we're at the start of a mini bad run going by the patterns of results this season. We'll lose another game or two before we pick up any more points.
3-0 Utd.
We'll be lucky to get a couple of shots on target.
-
Yep - the usual "ho hum" 0-3 drubbing I suppose
It would be marvellous to get something from this though.
-
Wot no poll?
-
Moyes to get the chop on Friday night, Ferguson back in as caretaker manager and they thump us 18 -0, or Moyes stays and they put on their performance of the season with the reserve team trying to impress - 18 -0
NO way will we get anything up there on Saturday - if we do I`ll buy Mr Woodhall a pint after the Fulham game :)
-
There is no way we can't get at least a point off upper mid-table fodder?
-
It's my birthday. Make it happen Villa!
-
3-1 Villa, smash em to bits.
-
Wot no poll?
No apparently. Shame innit.
-
Them 4
Us 0
Srsly.
-
We will win if we perform as we did against Chav$ki. We will lose if we perform as we did against the anti-football team known as Sturke. It will (hopefully!) be a 0-0 draw. Typical Villa.
-
2-0 them, boo.
-
1-1 it is then.
-
2-0 Vila first
a manure goal on 44 th min
Manure win 3-2
-
Quite excited about this one... Nothing to lose really (nobody actually expects anything so defeat wouldnt hurt so much as, say, last saturday), but deep down we are probably all quietly optimistic of a having a big smile on our faces for the rest of the weekend from about 2.30 saturday onwards... The unpredictability of Villa nowadays is quite good fun at times.
-
1-2
Agbonlahor, Vlaar
-
4-1 to them
-
Madchester Rave On.
Is it still 1989?
Moe 2 - 3 Lamb
Delphx3
-
I'd drop Gabby for this and play Albrighton it will never happen though.
-
Head says we'll get spanked. Heart says we could scrape a draw.
A win would be fuckin fantastic at the theatre of shit.
-
We'll do what we usually do up there, only this time they badly need three points and a good performance, and nobody obliges a team in need like we do. I'd say the usual 3 or 4-0, but I have a feeling it could be much worse than that.
-
Where's the poll? I think we'll lose.
-
head says lose, heart says 9 nil win.
if the Villa score early enough then we stand a chance of something from the game.
-
2-2 for me, 1-0 up early on, they'll get on top and take the lead and we'll get a late equaliser.
-
Don't forget Man Utd have to play Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday 1st April - only 3 days later. They may well rest a few players as they have no chance of the League and are highly unlikely to make the top-four, so the Bayern game is of greater importance. Having said that, their 'second' string is still strong. I'll go for 1-1.
-
They're miles away from where they were. Even so, they still have enough to beat us.
-
I can't see us getting anything there so I will say 2-0 United.
-
Has anyone been to the Imperial War Museum (North) at Salford Quays ?
I should have some time to kill on Saturday morning and was wondering if it was worth the visit.
-
I could never type anything other than a Villa win. It would be a knife through my heart. So 2-1 to us, similar game to the one at Anfield, except Youngs pnealty claim after falling over Guzan is waved away.
Please please please please please dont be Phil Dowd as ref
-
I've got a feeling we will win this.
1-2 the Villa.
-
I'd drop Gabby for this and play Albrighton it will never happen though.
To be honest he hasn't played well lately but his pace will be essential to any joy we might have, and over the years he's scored a fair few against Utd. He's one of the few players who doesn't always seem to get overawed by playing them.
I would personally drop Weimann for Albrighton.
-
3-1 to Them.
Mal Donaghey, John Siveback, Peter Davenport
Andy Blair for us
Grrr - I hate this fixture, not as much as the one at Villa Park though.
-
They are hurting badly and will want to give something back to their fans.
We, in turn, sank to new depths against Sturk. We will get mauled.
-
2-2
That is all.
-
United will need a no-mark mid table team to bully to show they can still win in front of their mob of glory seekers.
Same score as the home match, with the exception of a possible consolation from Gabby to celebrate his pay cut.
-
Down on your luck? Desperately need a win? Then play the Villa.
Usual drill - United 2 Villa 0
-
We will win ffs.
Man U 1 - 3 Villa.
8)
-
'Rah, rah, rah; we're going to smash the oiks'!
-
3-0 to them. As usual.
I stopped having any optimism when playing this lot a long time ago.
-
We should have a new third kid where we dress all our players as waiters or maids. To be used whenever we play Utd.
-
Lovely stuff

-
Gabby to score the winner this weekend 2-1 to us.
-
Sounds like KEA is out, Weimann ok.
Personally I would leave Andi on the bench...for a while...he hasn't really done anything since he scored the winner against Man.City and has only scored 4 goals all season.
I think Utd will beat us, they love playing us no matter how much in the shit they are. But...turn up like we did against Chelsea, Liverpool then anything is possible.
-
It's a shame KEA is out, he's been effective in the last few games. He'll go with Sylla I would have thought but I quite like the idea of giving Clark a game in there. He's played there before.
-
Karim El Ahmadi is an injury doubt for Saturday's Barclays Premier League clash against Manchester United.
El Ahmadi was forced off during the first half in last weekend's 4-1 defeat to Stoke City after picking up a thigh strain.
And the 29-year-old midfielder is struggling in his race to be fit for the trip to Old Trafford.
But Andreas Weimann, who also left the field against Stoke after suffering a dead leg, should be fit to face the Red Devils.
"Andi is okay but Karim is struggling at the minute," said boss Paul Lambert.
Villa face Man Utd on Saturday, with a 12.45pm kick-off.
They will be looking to bounce back from the loss to the Potters.
United come into the match on the back of a defeat in the derby against Man City.
-

Would rather see Bennett in midfield than sylla to be honest.
-
Sylla has really disappointed this season. I thought he looked a decent player last season and he more than played his part in our improvement. He's been pretty crap this season though.
-
Another option is Lowton back in defence and putting Bacuna in midfield.
-
I'd rather anyone play but Sylla. I'd like to see Bennett and Lowton back plus Bacuna in midfield.
Lowton
Clark
Vlaar
Bennett
Bacuna
Delph
Westy
Albrighton
Weimann or Gabby (not both)
Benteke
They need to win we don't.

I'd go with this.

I'm not sure i'd be making too many changes to the defence just because of last week. We don't let in 4 every week.

yep, it was a bad day at the office. A reminder of a lot of the bad habits from last season so I don't think it will happen again. I'd certainly keep Bacuna, Vlaar and Bertrand. Possibly Clark for Baker if anything at all.
-
Need to bounce back after Sundays dire display. Get back to playing like we did against chelsea and we can get something. 2-2

I know but i prefer Lowton & Clark there, plus there was no reason to drop Bennett for Bertrand.
As i said we don't need to win so mix it up a little.
-
2-2
-
Defeat as usual.
-
0-4 away win, Benteke (2), Bertrand and Gabby. They're an easy touch at home, so let's go up there and take the piss like everyone else has.
Moyes to be physically assaulted on the pitch at the final whistle by a pissed-up, beetroot-faced Scot, an even more pissed-up Geordie with shady Black Country connections and a short, fat club singer who looks like Charlie Drake.
-
Another option is Lowton back in defence and putting Bacuna in midfield.
I'd go with this.
Me too.
It's important we have as much pace as possible in central midfield especially if it's Fellani and Carrick as the central two as they are very immobile.
-
Villa performances are difficult to predict at the best of times but the Mancs have Bayern three days after we play them so may well rest some of their main men. Fingers crossed Rooney is one of them.
-

I think you can be sure rooney will be rested big dick.
-
Defeat as usual. But it would be great to beat them, and watch the home fans lose the plot and have a meltdown. Won't happen though will it ? 3-1 defeat.
-
They are under massive pressure to win this after getting turned over by Liverpool n Money City in their last 2 home league games. Moyes is also under pressure to put up a decent fight against Bayern IMO or he could well find his days numbered.
Anyway, back on topic, the Villa. KEA out is a blow if he doesn't make it. I really do not want to see Sylla starting, would rather bring Gardner back (is he still at Sheff Weds?) or Lowton at RB and push Bacuna into CM.
Albrighton probably deserves a start over Weimann, if Lambert has that decision to make should Weimann be back to fitness.
Prediction is a 3-1 home win, our goal a late consolation.
-
They are hurting badly and will want to give something back to their fans.

I bet you wish you were still in Barbados?
-
Where's the poll? I think we'll lose.
I attempted to add a Russian/Crimean style poll but accidentally pushed the go button before completing it. I am sure one of the Mods will correct it.
-
I like Sam Baileys prediction. She's probably never seen a football game in her life.
-
She's an ex-footballer and a regular attendee at Leicester matches.
-
Best poll ever?

What a pig's ear you made of that. Edit your original post to sort it out young man.
-
She's an ex-footballer and a regular attendee at Leicester matches.
Okay I really do like it then. I thought all Leicester fans hated us with a passion.
-
I would definately play Albrighton in this match. Old Traffords pitch is large and would suit him. We were uniformly dreadful against Stoke and need to put on a show up there.I dont mind losing as long as give a good account of ourselves and score a couple.
-

LOL. I probably will do by 2.45pm tomorrow!!
-
The depths they have plumbed are far more unfamiliar to them than ours are to us. We'll stuff them.
-
We will no doubt play them back into form!
-
A Villa win would be great but what's even better is the fact that 12 months after our defeat there confirmed their title win - this year a win for us will make it mathematically impossible for them to retain it.
Ironic!
-
Moyes to be physically assaulted on the pitch at the final whistle by a pissed-up, beetroot-faced Scot, an even more pissed-up Geordie with shady Black Country connections and a short, fat club singer who looks like Charlie Drake.
Or Michael Knighton juggling his balls.
Villa leading 2-1 until, in the the 90th minute, a pissed-up, beetroot-faced Scot in the stands nods at the Phil Dowd look-a-like referee who awards 8 minutes additional time.
You know the rest.
-

More of a coincidence.

The Yanited forum looks more bleak than this place in January 2013, with comments such as this:
Easy three points.
3-1 Villa.
-
And this one;
I expect a Villa win. The only team we have beaten at OT in the league since for ages is Cardiff. Basically, any half-decent team is pretty much favourites at Old Trafford at present, and Villa fall into that bracket I think. Coupled with the fact that players are likely to be rested for Tuesday, I think they'll win. Their trio of Westwood, Delph and El Ahmadi will overrun us in the midfield and their front three will kill us with speed and strength.
Poor little lambs. I hope we smash the bastards.
-
Ha! They used to think they were invincible now they're scared of El-Ahmadi!
-

Isn't KEA injured?
-
I would love to join in with all this schadenfreude about Man U but until 2.45 tomorrow I am holding my tongue as I don't want to tempt fate on another arse-kicking.
-
This is either going to be a laughing stock against the mighty Villa or a laughing stock against a dire United. Your guess is as good as mine.
-

Same feeling here

Bollocks to that I'm taking every chance I can to put the boot in and will continue to do so even if we get beaten tomorrow.
-
I fear it will be the same as it usually is when Villa go to Old Trafford ,a home win. I read somewhere that Rooney has not scored at OT since October. What better team to come up against than Villa to end that record .United 3 Villa 1
-
Isn't KEA injured?
With any luck

Didn't mean injured, just not playing.

Me too. I think they will beat us. I would love to be wrong but too many kicks where it hurts from them over the years has made me very negative when we play them.
-
Think we will lose easily 3 or 4-0

Not knocking you for that but I am obviously more superstitious than you. Like I never join in chants of "Its all gone quiet over there" or "what a waste of money" because whenever I have done in the past it has come back to bite me!
-
Yaniteds time of dominance is over, there is a major re-building job to be done at Old Trafford NONE of their players would be first choice at Madrid, Barca, Munich, even the Etished, and there is now a queue of clubs with more money than them, so they dont play top-picks any more, after all where would you rather live Barcelona or Manchester??. no i`m afraid a potential few years as also-rans beckons for them, it happened to Leeds, Liverpool, Arsenal, and now, hopefully, it`s about to happen to them, and you know what, i fuckingwell love it!! (fancy a draw by the way)
-
Sylla has really disappointed this season. I thought he looked a decent player last season and he more than played his part in our improvement. He's been pretty crap this season though.
He looked good at the end of the season as he was given a run of games.
I think we sometimes under estimate how difficult it is to get up to match standard having spent the season on the bench.
I agree he looked awful against Sturke, maybe he needs game time.
-
Sylla did have a decent run last season. But he looks miles away from being a first team player, and would put Lowton or Albrighton in before him .....

If we're going to keep him, let's get him out on loan for a half-season; perhaps with one of the promoted clubs.

Thanks for fixing it.
-
Looking forward to tomorrow, it seems like an age since Cardiff (didn't go to the Newcastle game). I've got absolutely no idea which way it's going to go so I won't bother predicting anything except that Ashley Young will fall over some imaginary feet at some point.
-
Isn't KEA injured?
With any luck
Wanting a player injured, very nice.
I think we miss him when he doesn't play, he works hard.

We certainly did against Stoke. He's been good of late and I'm saying this as someone who's not always been KEA's biggest fan to put it mildly.
-
we need at least 11 players to be anywhere near what most of us want. quite honestly tmw manure have been schlepped silly in there last two home games 8) so if they've got anything about them then pride should make them come out of the blokes fast, but Villa are annoying turning it on for the big clubs and being also rans for the likes of stokey.
I predict a riot with Gollum being hung in the Stretford end.
nurse more valium please
-
They will come out all guns blazing. Wounded pride and a call from their manager to put us to the sword with a show of open attacking football which has been synonymous of Manchester United teams over the years.
Step up Gabby. 1-0 to Villa.
-
I feel that the fly past of the 'Moyes Out' banner pretty much guarantees we'll be about 6 down by the time it goes over.
Would that be ironic?

Bellends. Everyone already knows it is going to happen so surely when it does it looks purile and immature.

When the banner flies past:
Please let me hear " .......Holte enders in the sky!!!!" Louder than ever.
sorry can't make it.
-
Sylla did have a decent run last season. But he looks miles away from being a first team player, and would put Lowton or Albrighton in before him .....
I too would prefer to see one of the Academy graduates given a chance ahead of Sylla. Heard a caller on the radio earlier suggesting putting Clark in midfield which might not be a bad shout. Have him and Westwood a bit deeper and let Delph play in a more advanced role.
-
Best chance in years to turn these twats over but you just know they'll turn it on and be 3 up by half time!! Not normally pessimistic, I just can't help myself when I see this fixture.
I'd love it love it love it if we can put on a show and beat these at the theatre of hand jobs, heart says 1-2 win but the noggin says 4-1 defeat
Prove me wrong Villa please!!!!!
5.45am kick off here, I'll be up to see, UTV!!!
-
The early game here so very respectable ko time about 10.45pm I think. Come on Villa give them a fkn shoeing!!
-
Agree about Sylla - he's just not PL standard. Last week he was a liability.
On the train from Euston - full of London Mancs with their little kids in their replica kits. I shall feel quite sad for the little ones on the way back!
-
If KEA is missing we have no chance. It's that simple.

I don't normally condone violence but you really should take him into a back alley somewhere and beat him up. It's for his own good.

Not seen any Villa shirts yet here in the Lowry Outlet Mall

My son 14 is going to his first villa game without me today weird feeling I hope more than ever we get a result!

TRAVEL NEWS: Don't know if this has been mentioned but a lorry has overturned near Old Trafford this morning. Fans are being urged to avoid Chester Road as both carriageways are currently closed. Full story on Manchester Evening News website (sorry, can't seem to provide a link).
-
606 just tweeted that United have taken more points from us than any other team during the history of the Premier League...
Please, Villa, time to start rewriting history!
-
I would get Bryan Small in , always looks good against these.
-
I'm trying to be optimistic about this, I really am. But unfortunately my miserable nature is asserting itself, and I can see no other outcome than a morale-boosting victory for the shittest Man Utd side I've ever seen against a team that excels at ending their opponents' awful runs.
We've got so many monkeys off other teams' backs, we should open a fucking chimp sanctuary.
-
well I was on the piss with Manure fan last night , in fact hes been down Villa with me a few times and we have always lost.
. He crashed here last night on the sofa and woke up 30 mins ago and had a tea.
I said ' so youre staying for the game right ? , Ive got it on BT '
he has not got any cable
he replied ' no Ive got things to do '
yeah right , even hes worried . ;) muttering to himself . I blame that fucking Fergie lol
-
What's this nonsense formation he's got us playing this week?

A cuff for his won - not a full blown beating.
