We realy need this. Whats the team?
-
.
-
Villa: Guzan, Bacuna, Clark, Baker, Herd, El Ahmadi, Westwood, Delph, Agbonlahor, Benteke, Weimann

Lowton on bench or injured?
-
Lowton should be in !
-
Herd at left back maybe? Who do Fulham have on the right of midfield?
-
@MatKendrick: Looks like a 4-3-3 to me, possibly with Baker and Herd in central defence with Clark at left-back and Bacuna right-back #avfc
-
subs: Steer, Lowton, Helenius, Albrighton, Bowery, Sylla, Tonev
-
Fulham: Stekklenburg, Riether, Senderos, Hughes, Riise, Parker, Dejagah, Sidwell, Karagounis, Kacaniklic, Berbatov
-
Gabby is captain
-
Says something about Lowton if he can't get into that line up.
-
I find it strange Lowton is on the bench if the back 4 is how kendrick predicts .
-
Wonder what happened to Big Libor?
-
Great to see Herd back, if only to piss off PaulWingeAgain.
More seriously, I'm not sure where Lambert plans to play him, unless it's in central defence with Baker going to left back. Strange selection but one thing about Herd, he never lets us down. I just hope he's careful with his tackling inside the box.
-
That back 4 makes me nervous! I feel we may need to score at least 3 to win...
-
Chris Herd? Even when Lowton is available? Strange one.
-
I'd have gone for the same attack and midfield but I will be interested to see how the back 4 line up - herd getting the nod ahead of Lowton is a surprise to me , but lets hope he takes his chance.

Less of the snide digs please.
-
I kinda like Herds commitment....when he has played the 2-3 occasions at full back he looked pretty decent.
-
six playing who came though the acadamey
-
six playing who came though the acadamey
I don't know if that's a good or bad thing
-
@MatKendrick: No place for Libor Kozak in the matchday squad - can only presume he is injured. Will try to find out #avfc
-
With that starting 11 I really doubt today will be 0-0.
-
Are you standing by with the fish pie should it be required pws?
-
The fact herd is in for Lowton suggests to me he'll be part of a back three. Otherwise it really is a vote of no confidence in Lowton. Lambert seems to see herd as a bit of a last resort
Delph could be wasted at lwb, if that's where he's playing.
-
In an attempt to bring us luck i'm going to follow the game on here only. So when we win, you can all thank me. If we lose, it's your fault for believing such superstitious guff.

Just teasing, PWS. Paul will know what I mean. You should be pulling me up on my spelling, I spelt incorrectly 'whinge'.
-
I would love Helenius to come on, bag one and do a little pants celebration

I can't see Delph starting at left back - I think its a 4-3-3
-
Lambert tends to see Herd as a centre back. It looks like 4-3-3 too so the only question is whether it's Clark or Baker at left back. I hope he goes with Clark at centre back.
-
Herd at the back is a penalty waiting to happen. Who's the ref?
-
Poor Lowton. Should be in I think. I thought Clark would be captain.
-
Maybe. Who's at left back? Bacuna? I'd have thought Lowton would get the nod at right back ahead of herd, poor form or not
-
I don't know if I love the fact that even though we know the starting 11 we aren't sure of formation. Or if it terrifies me!
-
Herd at the back is a penalty waiting to happen. Who's the ref?
Mike dean i think
-
Herd at the back is a penalty waiting to happen.
That's my only fear too, CJ. Herd gives his all but a full on tackle in the box is not beyond him.
-
Early villa goal would really rock them as they are low on confidence after losing 6 in a row .
-
Bring it on kids.
-
Bring it on kids.
It may be my pre-match optimism but I feel a lot more confident the kids will do us proud today. They've matured a lot over the last 12 months.
-
Bit weird that Libor's nowhere to be found, he must have picked up an injury mid-week. I'm relieved that Bent's missing from the Fulham team as well, you just know he would have scored - especially with that unconvincing back four.
Come on the Villa!
-
In an attempt to bring us luck i'm going to follow the game on here only. So when we win, you can all thank me. If we lose, it's your fault for believing such superstitious guff.
If we draw?
-
reckon herd is in at centre back. wouldnt like to see delph moved
this is the way I see us lining up.
--------guzan
bacuna, herd, baker, clark
kea, westwood, delph
weimann, benteke, gabby
to be honest that is a very poor fulham side. must be the oldest midfield in the league.
the swedish kid has the makings of a fine player, could cause us problems.
if benteke and gabby play well we should win comfortably.
4-2 to the villa

Fuck off. xx

We'll burn the witch
-
Cmon Villa....keep the good away record going
-
Be nice to win by 4 so we'd go above Yanited on gd!
-

Relieved?
He's our player, he can't play against us.
-
Come on Villa!!
-
Lowton was at fault for their first on Wed, and got nowhere near the header back on the 2nd. He may well have been left out on merit. Herd always competes.
-
As Merse says....."they have to have a go and that plays into Villas hands".....
-
Where did Fulham get these "big" screens? A sale at Argos?
-

Relieved?
He's our player, he can't play against us.
Wasn't there a player who played against the team he was on loan from and scored the winner or knocked them out of the cup...??
-
Herd at the back? Hmmmm.
-
What's the story with Kozak?
-

And that is one of thd problem with the loan system.

Back in the 80s (I think) small heath loaned a player to Coventry. He scored the Coventry winner in the last match of the season that kept them up and relegated small heath.
-
When I hear the name Herd the first thing I think of is Nightclub brawl and Bents bird....football player comes last.
-
KEA plays again. I have criticised him for the last 2 games and he's scored and assisted. I'll begin again-he's shit, slow, boring, can't tackle, and yeah, is pretty shit. Come on Karim! Villa to win 2-1
-

Morientes for Monaco against Real Madrid in the Champions League a few seasons ago as well.
-
What's the story with Kozak?
Big Czech bloke, hit and miss.
-
When I hear the name Herd the first thing I think of is Nightclub brawl and Bents bird....football player comes last.
I'm not a fan at all. He is also slow, mistimes tackles, can't pass. Get Lowton back in that side Lambert. Let's hope Herd proves me wrong too-it's been a while since he's played, hasn't it?
-
Looks like:
Bacuna Herd Baker Clark
What on earth does Lowton have to do to get back in the team?
-

Ah yea, thats the recent'ish one I was thinking of. I take it the premier league has always had that rule.
-

Bacuna Herd Baker Clark
What on earth does Lowton have to do to get back in the team?
Play well?
-

That's exactly the same description you gave KEA :o)

Which he hasn't done since May.

By that logic Westwood and Weimann would have been dropped as well. Lowton has done well when called upon (at RB) since his early season dip.
-
any one see Jack Grealish's goal yesterday . What a christmas cracker that was ;)
-

Shit! Forgot that he's only on loan! He's been frozen out of our team for so long I literally forgot that he's still our player.
-
A very weak defence today. This could give Fulham a chance to stop their bad run.
-
any one see Jack Grealish's goal yesterday . What a christmas cracker that was ;)
The new Messi.
-

Nice goal...
-
The ideal scenario is for Benteke to bag a couple in a by-the-numbers win, thus setting him up for the Yanited game but ensuring the fans aren't overconfident.
-

Haha. I'm hoping they both prove me wrong, which KEA has been doing in the last few games. I just don't like KEA and Westwood in the same midfield. I think Sylla must start, but what do I know...Lambert's the manager and to his credit, he doesn't change the team at the wish of the supporters. And so he shouldn't. Need the three points today.
-
I wish Merson would give his brain cell a rest.
-
Lambert said 'baker will have to move one over'. That sounds like herd at cb with Clark and baker at lb.
Need to get on the front foot here I think. You could argue we've none of our first choice defenders playing.
-
A very weak defence today. This could give Fulham a chance to stop their bad run.
I agree mate, though Clark has done well this year. Can't defend for 4 people though. Let's hope Vlaar is back soon.
-
I like Herd but am mystified by the Lowton freeze-out.
-
I hope herd doesn't do any of his rash challenges.
We need to make energy count here. They've got some fairly old players down the spine of their team.
-
Fulham have suffered 7 straight defeats. WE KNOW WHAT THAT MEEEAAAANNNNSSSSSSS.....
-
Fulham have suffered 7 straight defeats. WE KNOW WHAT THAT MEEEAAAANNNNSSSSSSS.....
Sadly it means a comfortable 2-0 win for them with us looking pathetic.
-
hoof. whats's the point? keep it on the floor.
-
Come on Villa!
-
I like Herd but am mystified by the Lowton freeze-out.
Well he himself has admitted his bad lack of form and within minutes of him coming on last week we had conceded a goal due to him. Not too much to be mystified about tbh.
Herd isn't maybe technically the greatest, but he has bags of energy and will also be able to run with the ball and bring it out of defence if we need to try and hold on to possession.
-
Are we winning yet?
-
Can't find a decent stream. Is commentary on anywhere?
-

http://talksport.com/radioplayer/live/?popup=1
I'm listening to this mate.
-
Slapheaded Fulham defender should have had a yellow for that tackle on Benteke.
-
We are as usual making opposition look good. All Fulham so far
-
Parker lucky not to be booked for that one on Bacuna too. Hate Mike Dean!
Not at all convinced by the back 4 today.
-
Finding a stream is a real nut job these days.
-
I love Delph. He never panics.
-
We are as usual making opposition look good. All Fulham so far
It looks pretty even to me.
-

This is how we play. We soak it up and break.
-
great save brad
-
Thanks Guzan
-
Stunning save from Guazn from a free header from corner. Berbatov will not believe he kept that out.
-
Unreal keeping.
-
Baker shouldn't be letting that run past him in the box...
Keep soaking up their shit guys and smash them on the break...
AMAZING SAVE Brad
-
Guzan is our best player by a mile.
-
we get beat in the air all the bloody time at the back
well done Brad
-
World class from the Goose.
-
we get beat in the air all the bloody time at the back
well done Brad
Yeah, against S'ton we were embarrassed in the air.
-
Guzan is our best player by a mile.
Mr Consistency.
-
Is Riise wearing a wig?
-
Guzan is the best goalkeeper in the league.
-
Berbatov looks lively today. Can see his movement in and around Herd being a problem. I think we've started ok overall though. Couple of chances to have a chance on the break.
Would be surprised if Delph and / or Westwood don't get a booking today, which would mean missing the Man U game.
I don't think I've noticed Weimann yet?
-
close well done gabby
-
good move Villa. Be nice to see us take a game to someone, one of these days
-
Benteke - bad miss. 4 yards out free header. Should have buried that.
-
Close from the beast.
-
2 Months ago that's back of the net right there.
-
Ahhhhhhhhhh......better lads but Tekkers you need to hit the target
-
Benteke should have at least put that on target.
-
Is Riise wearing a wig?
hair dyed badly I think...........
-
That was us looking good on the break. Difficult chance for Benteke that I think.
-
Benteke - bad miss. 4 yards out free header. Should have buried that.
Bit harsh was coming to him at pace good move though
-
Is Riise wearing a wig?
Halloween costume?
-
That was us looking good on the break. Difficult chance for Benteke that I think.
Got to put them away. No one challenged on the header.
Mention for the lovely, lovely outside of the foot ball from Delph to put Gabby in too.
-
getting more possession now
-
CMON Villa....fulham fans getting restless, they look bunk. We can take these apart if we want it.
-
close again
-
save from benteeke
-
Benteke looks much sharper.
-
SHIT....thats better Christian
-
Another decent chance for Benteke - decent stop but straight at the keeper really.
Needs a good, very badly.
-
third time lucky for CB
-
He'll score today.
-
Another chance missed by Christian
-
They look there for the taking if you ask me....1st goal is crucial
-
off the line by baker
-
save from benteeke
Bloody hell, he can play in goal aswell? The man's a monster.
-
Off the line Baker - not one tracked mick jaeger running from midfield.
-
Clark was Laursenesque there
-
defending good there
-
Phew. All sixes and sevens at the back there.
-
Great defence all around
-
off side i think
-
Comedy at the back again...
-
delph out for manure
-
well done Villa. great defending! Delph shown a yellow? will miss Man Utd? twat, Delph.
-
Delph out of united.
Never a booking if you look at the earlier ones though. Harsh. No consistency from Mike Dean. Shock!
-
Bollcocks...thats us fucked against United
-
Ref almost blew his whistle and than played on leaving us all over the place
-
We're passing it a fair bit better so far. And the midfield three look decent.
Breaking down a bit at the front though. Benteke doesn't quite look his sharpest. But we do look like we can win the ball high up the pitch today. Fulham look a bit ponderous at the back.
Our defenders are doing well so far. But the shape looks a bit awry and I can see them breaking our offside trap.
I honestly typed that before that Fulham chance! Great play by Clark. He did somethign similar v Southampton.
Delph must be booked there surely.
-
Jagger was a yard offside at the start of all that.
-
Bollcocks...thats us fucked against United
don't >:(
-
Delph out of united.
Never a booking if you look at the earlier ones though. Harsh. No consistency from Mike Dean. Shock!
Come on, that was a text book yellow card. Reckless challenge.
-
Great example of our total lack of movement there. Clark on the halfway line, nobody moves into space for him, passes back to Guzan.
-
Is Riise wearing a wig?
Think he went to the Fulham Christmas party as an Elvis.
-
ffs sidwell
-
Fuck off Sidwell you ******.
-
Shit. Sidwell of all people
-
We look a mess without Ron. They look nervy at the back too. This is going to have some goals in it.
-
FUCK
-
Oh no, not that get.
-
FFS Villa.
-
poor bacuna
-
Bacuna you twat!
-
FFS Bacuna useless
-
Fuck. Literally as I posted. And of all fucking players.
-
Christ - softest goal all season anywhere?
-
soft goal to give away
-
Awful goal.
-
I'll be surprised to see us get anything from this.
-
fuck off sidwell. It's our own fault though. We're just useless at trickiness around the box. We only have one plan away from home..counter attack. Do something else Villa. Get the ball to the wings, possession play perhaps. Yawn football.
-
well had to be sidwell but defending was awful
-
Michael Jackson wankers.
-
Very poor defending by Bacuna.
But it's not his position, is it?
-
Sitting back, sitting off, sitting deep. inviting pressure, asking for trouble.
-
We really can't let Fulham take 3pts against us....surely they're worse than us!!?
-
Well, we pick up lots of points when we go behind. So fingers crossed. Come on Villa.
-
tragic defending there. bacuna and guzan
still plenty of goals in this
hate seeing that useless turd sidwell score against us
-
We've been shit again deserved that this style of play pisses me right off
-
What was Guzan doing too? Think he confused Bacuna who shoud have row Z'd it!
-
Lets get at them now. They're not down there for no reason.
-
Very poor goal to concede - looking dodgy at the back one off the line and one off the bar - need to tighten up - we will get chances to score and need to take them - decent game to watch.
-
I haven't heard or seen Herd yet.
-
Fucking hell Westwood. Stop pointing at other players for the ball player to pass to and move into space to receive the ball. He's hiding again. Poor movement too. Players get on the ball over the half way line and have no option but to play a hopefull long ball.
-
That was coming. Their running from midfield is causing us real problems. Never thought he could score from there though.
At least we know that this villa side can come back from conceding goals. But we also know that our recent luck can't carry on forever.
-
Great decision again not to play Lowton, Lambert.
-
Score first against Villa and worry..
-
I don't know why Bacuna is being played at RB, FFS. What is it about this club and fucking right backs? There always seems to be a kerfuffle going on in that position for us.
-
Villa bending over to a team that haven't won in 7.
Delph booked.
Just need an injured defender to complete the set.
-
Lets get at them now. They're not down there for no reason.
I said that against Sunderland
-
What was Guzan doing too? Think he confused Bacuna who shoud have row Z'd it!
More experienced players might have been more decisive there I think. But Bacunas looked shoddy all day so far.
-
Herd is not a PL player.
-
They decided to sit back and let us attack... that's where we get fucked as all we can do is counter.
-
Pass it along the back line, run out of ideas, hoof it, repeat.
-
Im convinced we are going to win this
-
We'll win.
-
skillful goal
not its not
it was awful Villa defending
-
Quinn..... GuZAN! Not Guzmun you twit.
-
Niall Quinn doing the Guzan / Guzman confusion there.
-
Quinny son, who the fuck is Guzman? Lol.
-
Fulham are targeting Bacuna for sure, every time Berbatov gets the ball he is pinging it out there.
-
We'll win.
We'll lose.
-
Fucking hell Westwood. Stop pointing at other players for the ball player to pass to and move into space to receive the ball. He's hiding again. Poor movement too. Players get on the ball over the half way line and have no option but to play a hopefull long ball.
Westwood is another poor player. Besides Delph, we have a poor midfield. KEA and Westwood have been anonymous. After 25 minutes. That's poor.
-
We can definitely create chances against this defence. But they can certainly create chances against us too.
I think Westwood is looking ok, but the full backs and other midfielders aren't contributing enough. And Weimann really hasn't done anything yet.
-
weiman is having another quiet game - poor season for him
-
I don't know why Bacuna is being played at RB, FFS. What is it about this club and fucking right backs? There always seems to be a kerfuffle going on in that position for us.
Agreed , Lowton should be at right back , felt Guzan went to ground too soon as well but these things happen - we should still fancy a win.
-
I wasn't on thread earlier, can't be bothered to hunt, but any reason why Kozak isn't in the squad today?
-
Herd is not a PL player.
He's having a decent game so far.
-
Quinny son, who the fuck is Guzman? Lol.
I've heard him call him that on many other occasions, it really grinds my gears.
-
Weimann just touched the ball.
-
benteke should've been running in to meet that cross not delph
-
They are crap at the back
-
I wasn't on thread earlier, can't be bothered to hunt, but any reason why Kozak isn't in the squad today?
toe injury
-
come on villa
-
Herd is not a PL player.
He's having a decent game so far.
Agreed, looks comfortable on the ball and without the ring-rust I thought he'd have.
-
Fuck fuck fuck fuck
-
ffs
this is getting worse
-
If we equalise, their confidence will crumble.
-
Never a penalty Dean.... never, ever, ever a pen.
-
Shit. Penalty by Bacuna
-
penalty to fulham
-
Playing like a bunch of schoolboys
-
What?
-
harsh but bacuna is not a rb ffs
-
Oh dear, oh dear. Bacuna's having a mare.
-
NO FUCKING WAY
-
We are fucking rubbish I am sick of watching this.
-
ffs Villa
this is shit
-
Mike Fucking Dean is and always will be a fucking ******.
****** ****** ******
-
shocking penalty, very very soft.
-
I think we're done here.
-
never a penalty for me that. Bacuna needs to be taken off though straight away, his starting position there was pub football esque
-
Game over, without us even having a go.
-
Fuck me that's a harsh pen. Bollocks.
-
Christ this is turning into a disaster
-
Three years down the line and we're still fielding a defence containing Clark, Baker and Herd. Not good enough I'm afraid.
-
Ah well, we can always sit back and defend like fuck and launch it up field every time we get the ball.
-
Harsh but you don't challenge like that when you're behind the attacker. Poor again from Bacuna.
Have to say that initial touch from Berbatov was different class.
-
come on Villa, let's see what you're made of
-
never a pen in a million years
-
Three years down the line and we're still fielding a defence containing Clark, Baker and Herd. Not good enough I'm afraid.
Well, not even two years, strictly speaking.
-
Bacuna having a shite day. However, Berbatov showed what having creativity in the side means - what a touch that was to put what's his name through. Would Kozak have done that? Lambert needs to overcome his allergy to real creative signings.
-
Still convinced we will win!
-
Playing us at our own game now
-
Game over, without us even having a go.
It was game over at Albion as well.
-
dean giving us nothing
-
Berbatov fucking Dracula looking wanker.
-
Need a response straight away.
-
Gabby and Weimann fouled in one move and nothing doing from Dean
-
Clumsy. Bacuna at fault for both goals.
Can we stop wacking it long from the back please????
-
I think we're done here.
Don't worry the only stats that count are goals scored. We can counter attack back into it.
Oh wait.
-
close from delph
-
We can come back here....Fulham are crap, no doubt about it....but we never play a solid 90 mins so I'm hoping the next 45 will be ours.
-
Great move. Should have scored
-
Harsh pen but bacuna looks too often exposed - defensively all over the place - we came back against west brom and can do so here .
-
Get one before half time and i'll be confident
-
Brilliant from Delph!
-
Damn that was a quality move....
MORE THE SAME!!
-
Just remembered Weimann is playing today.
-
Hmm. Was that a pen? I think it possibly was, but a bit soft.
Fantastic pass from Berbatov
We're going to have to pull it out the bag again.
Are we actually playing worse than v Southampton? Probably defensive wise we are
Could really do with one before half time. Certainly need to avoid conceding
that was wonderful by delph. Gabby had to be following that in. It was the only place delph could have put it.
-
Wouldn't surprise me if we got a good tonking today lets be honest we've rode our luck the last few games it's getting embarrassing
-
Today:
Bacuna shit.
KEA shit.
Westwood shit.
Weimann megashit.
-
Just remembered Weimann is playing today.
What is the point of starting him at the moment?
Play an extra midfielder and actually have an effect on the game.
-
Game over for me.
-
Who else reckons we'll end up with four strikers on today?
-
Baker needs to get much tighter than that.
-
Please come back soon Ron. We need you. Benteke is at least getting a little better. Still well off the pace though.
-
Wouldn't surprise me if we got a good tonking today lets be honest we've rode our luck the last few games it's getting embarrassing
5 unbeaten is not riding your luck
-
Berbatov is still a class act- taking us apart.
-
we are making them look like Real Madrid
its fucking Fulham
-
We are suffering from new manager getting Berbatov to play too
-
Too many players having spells where they're utterly anonymous this season.
Westwood and Weimann chief amongst them.
-
how long can Lambert watch Bacuna out there?
-
Shambolic, unsurprisingly.
-
Bacuna is getting his arse whipped here today
-
Wouldn't surprise me if we got a good tonking today lets be honest we've rode our luck the last few games it's getting embarrassing
5 unbeaten is not riding your luck
don't normally disagree with much you say on here but I think we have been incredibly fortunate in most of our last games.
-
we one before HT
-
Again, I think Westwood is far away from our main problem. The whole right hand side is contributing nothing.
The movement is often very poor, which is a problem when you play so narrow and Baker isn't going to contribute much going forwards (from open play).
Berbatov giving us the runaround.Playing for a move no doubt!
-
Wow, this is unbelievable today. So disappointing so far
-
Just remembered Weimann is playing today.
it's like playing with a goalie, 9 outfield players and a chicken without a head on
-
dean didnt even see that hand ball prick
-
Too many players having spells where they're utterly anonymous this season.
Westwood and Weimann chief amongst them.
Westwood has at least had a couple of decent games recently
Weimann has been really poor all season
-
we one before HT
Bannan's left.
-
Pass pass pass, lay off, pass back, sideways pass, lay off, long ball. Yawn
-
Make this count Villa.
-
Thing is, the evidence is there today to say 'we've played crap'. And that free kick from Westwood. Sigh. What an awfully average player
-
Awful.
-
Really is surprising just how much Weimann has dropped off from his form of last season. I'd be tempted to give The Gladiator a go, can't be any worse.
-
fuc knows what weiman brings to the team at the moment
and Lowton should be in at RB
-
Why does Westwood take set pieces....Bacuna can obviously hit an area so he should take them
-
Wouldn't surprise me if we got a good tonking today lets be honest we've rode our luck the last few games it's getting embarrassing
5 unbeaten is not riding your luck
Albion were 2 nil up and battering us and missed a few sitters
Sunderland we drew nil nil they missed an open goal
Southampton had 23 shots on goal and 72% possession to our 3 on target which we scored from
If that's not riding your luck what is ?????????
-
We give the ball up soooooo cheaply.
-
Please come back soon Ron. We need you. Benteke is at least getting a little better. Still well off the pace though.
As with last year, an injury to Vlaar (and Okore admittedly) and we're left with a defence that would struggle in the Championship.
-
Every corner is the fucking same with Westwood too
-
I still think Albrighton should have started instead of Weimann. He's just in better form.
-
If Berbatov wants to leave in January he would suit us nicely
-
Please come back soon Ron. We need you. Benteke is at least getting a little better. Still well off the pace though.
It's not the defence (apart from Bacuna) that is letting us down, it's the fact we don't have a midfield.
-
Just saw the pen decision again. Harsh doesn't begin to describe it. Didn't have a stream for first 15/20 minutes - should they have had a pen earlier?
-
Very poor today. They are in the bottom three.
-
Time for bacuna to make amends
-
Where is Weimann?
PS Come on Bacuna free kick
-
Benteke had to beg for a clear free kick then!
-
I might skip the 2nd half. cba
-
Chance for Bacuna to make amends here.
-
Save your game Bacuna.
-
Too close for Bacuna
-
He's a thought..... When you have a striker who has statistically BY FAR won the most headers in the entire league, why not play with width, i.e. 4-4-2 and feed the bastard.
-
Step up Bacuna
-
I wish we had a player that could pass the ball the way Berbatov did for that penalty.
All the people criticising Westwood, can I just ask what it is that you think he's doing badly.
We've only got two players who are looking to get on the ball and pass it forwards.
Come on then Bacuna. Smash this. Bit close for up and over the wall
-
Just saw the pen decision again. Harsh doesn't begin to describe it. Didn't have a stream for first 15/20 minutes - should they have had a pen earlier?
No not from what I have seen, and the one they got was a piss take. Dean did not even consider it.
-
Please come back soon Ron. We need you. Benteke is at least getting a little better. Still well off the pace though.
As with last year, an injury to Vlaar (and Okore admittedly) and we're left with a defence that would struggle in the Championship.
In fairness, take out both first choice CB and both natural LB options and most teams would struggle apart from the top few.
-
great FK by bacuna ;/
-
We're showing some fight, but technically this is a piss poor Villa side.
-
He's a thought..... When you have a striker who has statistically BY FAR won the most headers in the entire league, why not play with width, i.e. 4-4-2 and feed the bastard.
And how many times do we lose possession from these won headers? Our problem isn't that we don't aim for Benteke's head enough, it's that we aim for it too much.
-
I just look at this side, and too many of the players do not look good enough.
-
Lowton for Weimann, Bacuna right mid and try and supply the forwards please
-
Gerrim off. Bacunas been dire. Then again, everyone else has too.
-
If Berbatov wants to leave in January he would suit us nicely
no way we have Tonev
-
If we had a 100 million (as if) to spend in the summer I would honestly replace every defender we have and Westwood and KEA.
-
Wouldn't it be great to have a match where things just go well from the start, we play well all the way through, that sort of thing.
-
I think we need a change here. I'm just not sure what it is given our options. Perhaps we go really direct again as against the Baggies? Or Tonev on to give us some width?
Herd's actually done pretty well I think. So hope he's ok.
-
I wish we had a player that could pass the ball the way Berbatov did for that penalty.
All the people criticising Westwood, can I just ask what it is that you think he's doing badly.
We've only got two players who are looking to get on the ball and pass it forwards.
Come on then Bacuna. Smash this. Bit close for up and over the wall
Regarding Westwood-he rarely goes forward, rarely passes forward, hardly ever takes a good/different variety of freekick/corner. Can't beat a player, has no pace. I don't understand the support of him.
KEA is exactly the same
-
He's a thought.....
Only from long balls for him to create knock downs for other players to run onto. We should be constantly aiming for his head INSIDE the box.
-
This is technically the worst villa side I think I have seen. Football was shit under McLeish but at least we had some players with a bit of ability.
-
ref hasn't a clue today
-
I just look at this side, and too many of the players do not look good enough.
I would agree, but 5 unbeaten isn't a dreadful return before today. There's a tactical problem which seriously needs to be addressed, and that's just tanning it at Benteke's upper three-eighths and hoping for the best.
-
If we had a 100 million (as if) to spend in the summer I would honestly replace every defender we have and Westwood and KEA.
I would buy 2 wide men of real quality, a number 10 and a holding midfielder
-
Fulham are crowding Villa out on the edge of their area rather than pressing upfield, thereby nullifying the only way we get points.
Simple, effective tactics.
-
Wouldn't it be great to have a match where things just go well from the start, we play well all the way through, that sort of thing.
Here here Paulie. When is the last time that happened? Arsenal, first game? It's the only match I've pretty much enjoyed our football all season.
-
It's almost like there are two Aston Villas.
One can play really, really well (Arsenal and Chelsea away), and the other is absolutely abysmal.
The problem is, there is next to nothing in between.
-
Poor half - needs a real turnaround as we had at the Albion - but we can't keep playing 45 minutes badly.
-
This is technically the worst villa side I think I have seen. Football was shit under McLeish but at least we had some players with a bit of ability.
Come on mate.
-
not to worry, at home to mid-table opposition next weekend
-
Most of this team just aren't good enough and never will be. Every game is a major bloody struggle it's depressing watching this lot.
-

Only from long balls for him to create knock downs for other players to run onto. We should be constantly aiming for his head INSIDE the box.
When he has more than one defender on him because Premier League defences know what to do with crosses. I agree that we need more width and one reason is the cross option, but it's not the only option and 4-4-2 just concedes the match.
-
I wish we had a player that could pass the ball the way Berbatov did for that penalty.
All the people criticising Westwood, can I just ask what it is that you think he's doing badly.

But why would you expect a holding midfielder to beat a man, have pace, or venture forwards too much? I think he's been looking to pass the ball forward a fair bit to be honest. As against West Brom, he's the only one who will pass it forwards on the deck under pressure.
-
well that was rubbish
I saw that againt baggies so lets hoping
is Lowton on bench?
get him on , get BAcuna instead of Weimann ( hes been wank )
fuc knows whos on bench but probably a dull bench
-
Get your West Brom team talk out then Lambo.
-
He should have selected Weimann!. Absolutely convinced we are going to win!
-
all my keys are packing up on laptop by the way ;(
-
Yes we have not defended well the last 2 and a half games .
-
Out-thought and out-played. This has been as bad as anything we've served up this season, against a dire team. If ever a team really, really needs a break, we almost always oblige with gushing generosity.
-
Every time we get the ball, we are surrounded by Fulham players, hasselling and nipping at us, putting us under pressure.
When they get the ball, we stand off, stand back and let them play.
Westwood, and Kea, totally, utterly ineffective midfielders.
Tidy footballers, but ineffective midfielders.
-
Tonev for Weimann?
Maybe Lowton for Herd with Bacuna in midfield.
-
I just look at this side, and too many of the players do not look good enough.
The back 4 cost less than £1mil ..there are times when you need to pay for quality and we haven't for a few years.
That's now 4 goals ..WBA ..Soton 2nd and 2 today Bacuna has been at fault for , Lowton should be brought back
-
If we had a 100 million (as if) to spend in the summer I would honestly replace every defender we have and Westwood and KEA.
I would buy 2 wide men of real quality, a number 10 and a holding midfielder
Can lambert do it with £3 million ;(
-
Play Gab and Tekkers up front with Helenius in the hole....he got skills!
-
I just look at this side, and too many of the players do not look good enough.
Unfortunately they don't. We've ridden a lot of luck in recent months and we're in a solid position but lose a key player and things can change quickly in this league. For me I'm not sure Weimann (certainly in his current position), KEA, Westwood, Bacuna, Baker, Herd, Luna, Bennett, Lowton, Sylla, Tonev, Helenius, possibly Clark and perhaps Kozak are good enough.
Who in our side is a really good footballer? Decent touch and eye for a pass? Not sure.
We have a solid spine with Guzan, Vlaar, Delph and Benteke but as we see, lose Vlaar and the defence is a total shambles, and whilst Benteke struggles we look poor in attack. Delphy hasn't been at his best since returning either.
January needs action so we can cement our top half finish. If we don't we could conceivably fall back.
As for today. A good half time bollocking and I think we'll push on a bit, but we need to make changes. This game isn't over as Fulham look ropey at the back. That said, I don't think they're done scoring either.
-
Towards the end of last season we saw Villa score some amazing goals coming from some excellent passing moves. I was hoping we'd see that develop into our style, but we seem to have gone a different way altogether. We no longer seem to pass it patiently. Weird.
Collymore really laying into the ref on Talksport just now. Saying he's ruining the game.
-
all my keys are packing up on laptop by the way ;(
use on-screen keyboard like me
-
not to worry, at home to mid-table opposition next weekend
... without Delph.
-
Let's hope for one of our completely different second half performances.
-
Fulham are way more organised in both attack and defence. A nothing showing from Villa; two down, no ideas going forward, totally out-foxed in defence time and again (although we have our central defenders out tbf) and Delph out for the United game. What a load of shit.
-
If we had a 100 million (as if) to spend in the summer I would honestly replace every defender we have and Westwood and KEA.
I would buy 2 wide men of real quality, a number 10 and a holding midfielder
I'm building from the back....the Hansen way.
-

I would buy 2 wide men of real quality, a number 10 and a holding midfielder

And, incidentally, the McLeish way.
-
Karagounis is knocking on 37. Villa have to foul him to get near him. I often wonder if Lambert even watches football outside of match days.
-
Every time we get the ball, we are surrounded by Fulham players, hasselling and nipping at us, putting us under pressure.
When they get the ball, we stand off, stand back and let them play.
Westwood, and Kea, totally, utterly ineffective midfielders.
Tidy footballers, but ineffective midfielders.
They're not even that tidy at the moment. KEA is one of the poorest midfielders we've had. Westwood is Championship standard at best.
Westwood keeps playing Hollywoods. He's fast becoming the new Bannan. When he's not doing that he's pointing at which players the person on the ball should be passing too, but not showing any movement to receive the ball himself. He's hiding again. In fact he's been pretty fucking cowardly this season. Quite why I don't know because he looked quite assured from Feb- May.
-

I also worry that this whole "counter attacking football" thing has sunk into their minds now, it's pretty fucking unimpressive watching a team fail to string more than two passes together, have no idea whatsoever when it comes to creativity, and to just lump it forward far too readily.
-
Not a lot in the game in general play for me. We've looked capable of scoring but dodgy defensively without Vlaar. Fulham have played well but have had things go their way. We completely gifted them that 1st goal but I can see why the pen was given. We're not half as bad as some of the doom merchants on here make out though.
-
Most of this team just aren't good enough and never will be. Every game is a major bloody struggle it's depressing watching this lot.
Its as bad as the late 80s except the beer down here now is far, far better.
-
Oh well, we're due a defeat
-
Goals change games. This performance isn't very good, but then we haven't played well very often this season in my view. But if we don't give away two soft goals, and stick one of our reasonable chances away, the perspective looks very different.
I find it frustrating that if anyone criticises a performance where we win (eg Southampton) they're accused of being negative.
The things to criticise today are the defending for both goals - from the same player each time. And that we've shown up again our deficiencies in passing in movement. But we've passed it better than we did v Southampton and we've created more chances than we did in the first half of that game (ie more than one).
-
dodgy pen that
dont excuse our shitness
but very poor
-
Just saw the pen decision yet again but from a different angle - if anything it should have been a free kick to us
-
Can forgive Guzan for the goal as he rarely makes errors and saved a cert earlier but bacuna has been careless too many times at right back.
-
I'd like to see how Lambert will defend these stats if we end up losing today. It's all good and well playing poorly and being clinical. It's a whole other thing being 2-0 down to the team with the worst form in the league sat firmly in the bottom three.
-
Lambert is a shit tactician. Unless there are 50yards behind the defence we have no idea, no clue on how to open a team up. It's fucking depressing. And don't come back at me with the progress argument - most of our points this year have come from totally chancing it, city, Southampton we should have been twatted in both those games
-
We'll win 4-2.
-

A measured opinion. Get off this thread!
-

That's fair enough, but he doesn't make any penetrating balls, has no real presence. A holding midfielder needs to be more dynamic in this day and age.
-
Merse has just said what most of us have been saying for 2 years.
-
It always happens to us when they have a new guy in charge.
-
shame merson has been eating the mince pies , god how we need this type of player in our team
creativity guile give us that cutting edge
we look so limp
-

Results are improving but its a dreadful style of foootball to watch .
-
Id bring Weimann on for the 2nd half!
-
Must do better. We are clearly having too much possession. However we've been better than the 1st half against West Brom.
-
I honestly think Lambert's plan is to try and get to half time in every game without conceding, and then see what happens. I can't think of any other reason he refuses to attack crap or out of form teams.
-
This is technically the worst villa side I think I have seen. Football was shit under McLeish but at least we had some players with a bit of ability.
Agreed. Smash and grabs are of course great but it would be nice to know we could play some football sometimes. All the posters down on anybody querying the stats during the week missed the point. Yes, three points in the bag but what happens in games like this when a team says 'ok, here have the ball we won't let you counter'? We lack the ability to do anything when the onus is on us. Eventually teams will put the onus on us.
-
Confirms that we need a midfielder who can tackle and close down more than anything, there is no point in having a playmaker if you dont have the ball.
There are some very ordinary performances out there Bacuna Weiman KEA Benteke
-
Well I cannot see any progression in this side. Our ability to keep the ball is becoming a joke in the PL. You can only get so far counter attacking and I can't see that these players could progress us further. If this is Lambert's strategy and he won't consider change, I wonder how long before a Stoke / Pulis type decision will need to be made. We've regressed so far in terms of our play and the transfer and wage budget excuse doesn't wash any more.
-
Oh well, we're due a defeat
Yeah fuck it i'm past caring
-
I've got two words to say to that.
Shite.
And what's the other one?
Shite.
Cheers Villa another afternoon ruined. Lambert out of his depth and hopefully a job.
-
Merse has just said what most of us have been saying for 2 years.
What he say?
-
We have got to buy a creative player for the middle in January, because we're utterly devoid of ideas there. Like Merson said, we don't have the creativity to play through Fulham, so we're just going to lump it long at Benteke and feed off those scraps.
That was that sort of player we needed to buy last January, but we didn't, and we didn't in the summer, either, so to not buy on in January would be very risky.
-
Afternoon chaps, 2-0 how bad is it?
-
We'll win 4-2.
Similar to reading away when 0-2 down and Carew turned in a mammoth display - we need benteke to do similar , score the next goal and the whole momentum changes .
-
Not a lot in the game in general play for me. We've looked capable of scoring but dodgy defensively without Vlaar. Fulham have played well but have had things go their way. We completely gifted them that 1st goal but I can see why the pen was given. We're not half as bad as some of the doom merchants on here make out though.
Totally agree with this.
-
He's either gonna go very long. Or bring Tonev on.
I'd go long I think, unfortunately I don't think we're going to get two goals from a different approach.
It's not Herd's fault at all, but if Vlaar is in this side I just don't think we'd be two down.
Guzan at fault for the first. But I've changed my mind on the second - it's definitely not a pen.
-
KEA and Wiemaan not existent not helping
But all in all we need some serious money spent on midfield its so poor
-
Id bring Weimann on for the 2nd half!
Off you mean
-
Why let Bacuna stay on the pitch, his guilt for the first goal should see him removed, don't blame him for the penalty ref made i believe the wrong call. Guzan has to share some of the blame for first as well but hard to overly criticise him.
Delph showed why he will not make Woy's England team, his impetuousness is so costly, a mad tackle and now he is suspended for a game that we had hope of winning
for the first time in years.
Lowton on for Bacuna for me as well please,as he is great going forward, leave Weimann on to start with but may have to bring Tonev on for him.
-
Id bring Weimann on for the 2nd half!
;)
-
Afternoon chaps, 2-0 how bad is it?
Extremely shit
-
Id bring Weimann on for the 2nd half!
Off you mean
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!
-
Merse has just said what most of us have been saying for 2 years.
What he say?
That we don't have the ability to break down or open teams up.
That we have don't have a player with a bit of guile.
-
Id bring Weimann on for the 2nd half!
Off you mean
It was a lame joke sorry
-
Some of the hyperbole about how bad we are every week makes me laugh it really does. We have not played well first half but had 3 really great chances. At the same time the defending for the first is the worst all season, from BOTH Bacuna and Guzan IMO, and the second just is not a penalty any day of the week. The guy has backed into Bacuna to ensure contact, WTF is the lad meant to do, just let him get the ball without contest? Mike Dean is a shoddy ref, and always will be. He will send off Delph second half given the chance. Such a poor ref.
As for the team - Westwood is always looking to be available and pass forward, the issue for him is movement in front of him! Weimann is nowhere, so there is literally only Gabby. KEA does nothing for me. Sylla should hold, with Westwood and Delph in front, Gabby needs to get wider more often and we need an outlet the other.
Oh and we clearly, clearly miss Vlaar
-
What makes him think Bacuna is a full back I really don't know.
-
Tonev is on for KEA
-
still think there is a result in this for us. Benteke missed a sitter and Delph was unlucky. We have handed them 2 goals. Not really getting the rub of it luck wise today, penalty was very harsh and the one we cleared off the line was blatantly offside. New manager has organised Fulham properly though, defending deep so Gabby is out of the game. Berbatov is playing deep and they have successfully isolated our two full backs both who have been awful.
Lambert paralysed again on the sideline, he really has a lot to learn tactically.
Weimann needs to be taken off, absolutely useless yet again. Lowton to come in at right back. Unfortunately Delph is going to have to go left back. Id move Herd into midfield and get him to man mark Berbatov when he drops in there. Think Herd has done well if looking like he is going to kill someone with a few of his tackles.
id try
Guzan
Lowton, Clark, Baker, Delph
Bacuna, Herd, Westwood, Albrighton
Benteke, Gabby
-
Tonev for KEA. Positive at least.
-
I'd get Lowton and Tonev on for KEA and Weimann. Move Bacuna to MF
-
Tonev is the answer.
-
Vlaar has not only been excellent this season but we clearly miss his leadership and organisation.
-
Id bring Weimann on for the 2nd half!
Off you mean
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!
:P
-
You wanker lambert - tonev ??
Should have been lowton on and push Bacuna forward .
-
I think there's still a win here. Fulham haven't become ace overnight. Shake them up and the nerves will start to show.
-
Tony give us 2 blinders....otherwise Petrov should give up scouting.
-
According to my opta app Westwood has got an 89% pass completion rate with 32 successful. And 4 out of 7 in the attacking third.
I'm not saying he's the saviour but I just don't buy that he's the problem.
Tonev for KEA. A good time to get one of his shots on target!
-
Predictions for this half?
we will pull it back, more hope than anything else...
-

As for the team - Westwood is always looking to be available and pass forward, the issue for him is movement in front of him! Weimann is nowhere, so there is literally only Gabby. KEA does nothing for me. Sylla should hold, with Westwood and Delph in front, Gabby needs to get wider more often and we need an outlet the other.
Oh and we clearly, clearly miss Vlaar
Yep
-
Tonev hat trick coming up.
-
We've been losing the game in midfield with 3 CM's, so we take one off and bring on a winger? Strange. Tonev should have come on but not at the expense of CM territory, of which we can't afford to lose any more.
It's about time Tonev unleashed a 20 yard screamer in the top corner.
-
Westwood with a crap ball there.
-
In a way, that team with Tonev is now even more counterattacking. The midfield two will have to sit deep and rely on out-balls to the pacy front four - that's conceding the midfield and that is a defence-and-counter tactic.
-
Predictions for this half?
we will pull it back, more hope than anything else...
Na they'll score and 3rd and i'll go for a nap in my chair.
-
I'm sensing the dreaded 4-2-4 and hoof tactic.
-
Looks like Tonev right and Gabby in the hole?
Tempting fate, but I think Clark has been very good in his reading of the game
-
come on Tonev wheres your shot
-
442 it seems
still the same full backs though
-
Weimann should be benched fir about six games.
-
When all is said and done, I think Westwood looks like a lesbian.
-
Predictions for this half?
we will pull it back, more hope than anything else...
Na they'll score and 3rd and i'll go for a nap in my chair.
Looking forward to my nap....
-
@StanPetrov19: Football looks so easy when Berba is on the ball. Just showing young players. No step overs but still look world class. Love to watch him
-
Berbatov is one of those players I would like to see get twatted.
-
Bloody hell....where do you start trying to put that right?
For all the talk of this number 10 we need in midfield, I say we're crying out for someone prepared to roll their sleeves up and go into combat.
KEA and Westwood together are wetter than the front row at a Boyzone concert. So when Delph gets his obligatory yellow card and has to tread carefully, our tackling in the centre of the park virtually disappears.
Herd is never a centre half. Baker is never a left back. Surely Lowton, Baker, Clark, Bacuna is preferable?
As with the Albion game, this isn't over - their confidence is fragile and a goal will rock them.
Come on Lambert -- earn your stripes.
-
A trafficcone would be an improvement over KEA today, sadly the same can be said for Westwood.
Weimann gets no service but doesnt help one bit getting the ball or applying any kind of pressure.
-
Actually a really good ball back in from Tonev there if Gabby had read the intention
-
They are murdering us.
-
Lambert should go 3-1-6. That will work.
In other news Tamworth losing 1-0
-
40mins to go. We are going to win. Quite convinced!
-
He's done it, as predicted, gone heavy up front. I reckon Helenius or Bowery will make an appearance to finish the game with five forwards.
-
They are murdering us.
We do look bereft of quality
-
It's pretty hard to believe Weimann is on the pitch.
-
Hmm we're pretty open now, as I guess we need to be.
But our full backs are looking pretty exposed.
-
I will never understand the benching of Sylla this season I have to say. He allowed Delph and Westwood to play further up the field.
-
Far too easy for Fulham to get good crosses in - really poor defending today.
-
Currently making Fulham look like Bayern Munich.
-
they need to bring weimann off the bench now
close by fulham
-
It's pretty hard to believe Weimann is on the pitch.
He is?
-
Have we had a shot on target?
-
They are murdering us.
We do look bereft of quality
They are bottom three.
-
It's just a case of getting the our first goal then we'll see a different villa.
-
Well done Herd...at least you picked someone up
-
I will never understand the benching of Sylla this season I have to say. He allowed Delph and Westwood to play further up the field.
I agreed but then the recent games sylla plays on his return he was very poor.
-
It's pretty hard to believe Weimann is on the pitch.
Agreed, I want to know what more Albrighton has to do to show he's in the better run of form.
-
Great work from Gabby.
-
gabbys been decent
that is all
-
Men against boys, this. Against Fulham. Dreadful.
-
these corners!!!!! fuccccccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk. Need to breathe
-
What a shit corner
-
They are murdering us.
We do look bereft of quality
We all know it too. 2 years without a proven Premier League signing and this is what you get Villa in 10th place completely flatters us. A nerve wracking 2nd half of the season ahead no question.
-
I reckon I could take a better corner than Ashley Westwood.
-
They are murdering us.
We do look bereft of quality
They are bottom three.
They may be bottom three but they are looking far better than us.
-
Well done Herd...at least you picked someone up
Herd is hardly the issue, Bacuna is a complete liability at the moment.
-
Do something different from a corner you morons
-
All i see is 9 donkeys in claret running around.
-
Woeful.
-
Berbatov is one of those players that you hate having playing for you, and then he has one of these days where you wonder why he isn't playing at the very top level week in week out. Off course we draw the short straw.
-
bacuna having a mare
-
Has anyone ever seen Baker do anything but clear an attacking corner. He's got a 50p head!
-
They're going for a third. We need to score here and get them back on the back foot.
Need another screamer.
That looked like a foul by Clark.
Good play from Gabby.
It's either gonna be 4-1 Fulham or 2-2.
I agree Bacuna should be taking corners instead of Westwood, especially from our right.
-
Bannan takes better corners than Westwood.
-
For Gods sake bring Weimann on!!
-
Bacuna is having a shocker - how many times has he lost possession.
-
Westwood does deserve stick for corners like that
Bacuna looks lost at the moment.
Lowton on now please
-
Bacuna having a mare again
-
Bacuna having a shocker.
-
Bacuna needs taking off now, he's embarrassing himself.
-
I've got a full bottle of Jack Daniel's here and I'm going to take a swig every time we give the ball away.
-
bacuna and weimann have to come off
-
Westwood does deserve stick for corners like that
Bacuna looks lost at the moment.
Lowton on now please
If he was in the same pub team as Curtis Davies he'd get stick from his mates after for corners like that.
-
What the fuck is bacuna doing? He's lost his head.
-
They are murdering us.
We do look bereft of quality
We all know it too. 2 years without a proven Premier League signing and this is what you get Villa in 10th place completely flatters us. A nerve wracking 2nd half of the season ahead no question.
We may be further up the league than last year but we seem to be playing football that is just as shit.
-
Get Benteke off he isn't bothered anymore.
-
I've got a full bottle of Jack Daniel's here and I'm going to take a swig every time we give the ball away.
It was nice knowing you.
-
I've got a full bottle of Jack Daniel's here and I'm going to take a swig every time we give the ball away.
74 minutes.
-
Bannan was whipping in good corners yesterday when he was standing them up for us. Another poorly chipped corner from Westwood as he has done all season. It's no personnel, it's a terrible terrible tactic.
-
I don't know what Lambert has fallen out with Lowton over, but he really needs to make friends make frends never never break friends and get him on and Bacuna off, quicksharp.
-
I've got a full bottle of Jack Daniel's here and I'm going to take a swig every time we give the ball away.
Is it empty yet !
-
Bannan takes better corners than Westwood.
But not so good on the straight motorway bits.
-
Really fed up of these comentators jizzing over Berbatov.
-
Well, our away support is superb as always.
Do we get extra points for that?
-
I've got a full bottle of Jack Daniel's here and I'm going to take a swig every time we give the ball away.
Ill bring you another one round then
-
I've got a full bottle of Jack Daniel's here and I'm going to take a swig every time we give the ball away.
Is it empty yet , hilts?
-
This is so shit.
-
Attacks few and far between.
-
Really fed up of these comentators jizzing over Berbatov.
In fairness, he has more creativity in one of his feet than our entire team shows at times.
-
I've got a full bottle of Jack Daniel's here and I'm going to take a swig every time we give the ball away.
74 minutes.
62
-
Do we ever practise passing, movement, technique in training...EVER!?
-
Fucks sake - whats with Benteke. Hardly making the effort to get in where it hurts is he?
-
I've got a full bottle of Jack Daniel's here and I'm going to take a swig every time we give the ball away.
74 minutes.
It'll be empty in 7 minutes then.
-
what a shit corner
-
Yet another crap corner.
-
I think Herd and Clark have pretty well. Baker and Bacuna less so. They don't seem to be in their full back position very much
I wish we had more of a settled way of playing. All the chopping and changing of formations means we can lack rhythm in how we play
-
here's another corner-not bad.
and another-woeful.
Can't someone else take one?
-
Do we ever practise passing, movement, technique in training...EVER!?
The only stats that count blah blah blah
-
It's come to this that we're wistfully discussing Bannan. Ha ha.
Bacuna's terrible. Two free kicks papered over a hell of a lot of cracks that playing regularly are really showing off. He's quick and can run 90 minutes and take the odd worldy free kick. Sadly he can't pass, control, defend.
-
Piss off Westwood
-
Westwood. That is such a shit corner it defies words. I guarantee most on this board could have done better than that. Desperate.
-
Really fed up of these comentators jizzing over Berbatov.
In fairness, he has more creativity in one of his feet than our entire team shows at times.
He is the type of luxury that would transform us in fairness from workman like to having a genuine creative edge.
-
Yet another crap corner.
It fits nicely into another frustrating display...
-
Karagounis is 37 and breathing out his arse already, but he looks better than our midfielders.
-
Does Benteke give a fuck any more?
-
This team is desperately crying out for that Robbie Keane influence he had a few years ago
-
We can score here. No matter if we're not playing well we can score.
-
Westwood. That is such a shit corner it defies words. I guarantee most on this board could have done better than that. Desperate.
Westwood needs to be off set plays!!
-
Westwood you fucking donkey
-
Does Benteke give a fuck any more?
Hasn't looked like it since he signed a new contract
-
Dear oh dear Westwood.
-
what a fantastic free kick
championship
-
Get Westwood and Weimann off for fucks sake
-
haha
-
Fantastic free kick Westwood. Complete and utter wank
-
Fuck me, that was abysmal, Westwood.
-
Speechless
-
I'm sensing the dreaded 4-2-4 and hoof tactic.
What as opposed to the dreaded 4-3-3 hoof tactic?
-
Westwood cannot kick a dead ball. When is Lambert going to see this?
-
Can no-one else take a free kick or corner?
-
Does Benteke give a fuck any more?
Looks like he wants out.
-
Ooft that really was the shit icing on the turd cake from Westwood.
-
he always look shit on Sky I hate them
-
Zico Westwood with the free kick.
-
W E S T W O O D J U S T F U C K O F F
-
Everytime Westwood steps up to a set piece you know whats coming. Painful mediocrity. He's not good enough. Not nearly.
-
It'll be worth subbing Westwood off if only to make 100% sure he's nowhere near any dead balls.
-
This is embarrassing
-
Really fed up of these comentators jizzing over Berbatov.
In fairness, he has more creativity in one of his feet than our entire team shows at times.
Don't get me wrong, he's had a good game, bit they're making him sound like Pele.
-
Stop giving Westwood the ball.....and take him off.
-
Hoping that the over-30's collectively run out of steam for Fulham!
-
Lambert are you blind...take him off all set pieces...in fact, take him off!
-
I'm tempted to open a bottle of red wine, turn this off, and read the newspaper.
Is it too early for the wine? I've always thought Sunday afternoons have an exemption from time-based wine restrictions, but I dunno .....
-
Westwood definitely needs to come off set plays. Bacuna or Tonev can whip them in and I think we need a bit of that.
-
Westwood you fucking donkey
You reckon he does?
-
christ almighty
-
We need to go out and buy a bit of quality in midfield or it will be a long hard run in to the end of the season.
-
Westwood couldn't deliver the post.
-
Does Benteke give a fuck any more?
Looks like he wants out.
I don't care how big he is, tell him to get to the back of the queue.
-
Can no-one else take a free kick or corner?
The one thing Bacuna can do is take a freekick it seems. I don't know why we don't put him on set pieces. Tonev would also be better than Westwood.
-
Does Benteke give a fuck any more?
Looks like he wants out.
Much more of this and the feeling will be mutual.
-
I just want to see Albrighton come on and get at a full back.
-
Can no-one else take a free kick or corner?
I bet Bacuna would take an excellent drilled corner.
-
Really fed up of these comentators jizzing over Berbatov.
In fairness, he has more creativity in one of his feet than our entire team shows at times.
Don't get me wrong, he's had a good game, bit they're making him sound like Pele.
He has erection problems?
-
Fuck me - Albrighton for Weimann please? Just for half an hour to see what happens?
-
I'm tempted to open a bottle of red wine, turn this off, and read the newspaper.
Is it too early for the wine? I've always thought Sunday afternoons have an exemption from time-based wine restrictions, but I dunno .....
It's not early for wine here and I'm 5 hours behind
-
I'm tempted to open a bottle of red wine, turn this off, and read the newspaper.
Is it too early for the wine? I've always thought Sunday afternoons have an exemption from time-based wine restrictions, but I dunno .....
Wine might not be strong enough to cope with this shit.
-
We need to go out and buy a bit of quality in midfield or it will be a long hard run in to the end of the season.
Can't see us doing that.
-
Christ almighty this is witless stuff.
-
I'm tempted to open a bottle of red wine, turn this off, and read the newspaper.
Is it too early for the wine? I've always thought Sunday afternoons have an exemption from time-based wine restrictions, but I dunno .....
Wine? I'm already on the Brasso.
-
Really fed up of these comentators jizzing over Berbatov.
In fairness, he has more creativity in one of his feet than our entire team shows at times.
Don't get me wrong, he's had a good game, bit they're making him sound like Pele.
a 70 year old Pele would be all over us to be fair
-
It's ridiculous. You would think Fulham are chasing the game.
-
It seems we struggle against struggling teams this season. There's so much work to do on this squad.
-
Is it too early to start on the crystal meth?
-
All the players Lambo has bought looked amazing on Youtube....is that how he bought them, from watching Youtube?
-
There must be two Aston Villas... the one I see most weeks (either live or on TV) struggles to pass, can't take corners and rarely looks like scoring, acts like a championship team and makes the two worst team in the league look good... There is another one... it played on wendesday night in front of about 2000 Villa fans... we are dreadful to watch.
-
I'm tempted to open a bottle of red wine, turn this off, and read the newspaper.
Is it too early for the wine? I've always thought Sunday afternoons have an exemption from time-based wine restrictions, but I dunno .....
Not when the Villa are playing mate. The thought occurred to me break into the Christmas booze its that bad.
-
a team will 7 defeats on a trot making us look like Hinckley Utd
-
They are more likely to score next.
-
wtf Guzan
-
Is it too early to start on the crystal meth?
Not if Bacuna is anything to go by today.
-
We sound like we've had three sent off.
-
We are stinking this division out again. Unless things change at this club - tactics and transfer policy - we will go down sooner rather than later.
-
Our recent unbeaten run has the feeling of a house of cards about it, given how much luck we've had. A loss here, our ritual handing over of 3 points to ManUre next week and I fear another shite Xmas period like last year.
-
lambert fucking change it man
-
don't you start Brad
-
This villa team looks to me like a team that is fighting relegation.
No belief, no ideas, no quality.
-
Westwood and Benteke fouled and nothing given. We have been shit as it comes, but Dean is a shit licker.
-
I'm tempted to open a bottle of red wine, turn this off, and read the newspaper.
Is it too early for the wine? I've always thought Sunday afternoons have an exemption from time-based wine restrictions, but I dunno .....
Wine? I'm already on the Brasso.
Mince pies and industrial strength opium for me.
-
In the long term a lot of these players will have to be binned off. They're not going to improve much more.
-
Er... Not playing well are we?
-
Fulham have suffered 7 straight defeats. WE KNOW WHAT THAT MEEEAAAANNNNSSSSSSS.....
Sadly it means a comfortable 2-0 win for them with us looking pathetic.
Prophetic.
-
We are missing Ron. Need a quality defender in Jan.
-
Herd getting wound up.
-
We are stinking this division out again. Unless things change at this club - tactics and transfer policy - we will go down sooner rather than later.
Agreed. Garbage. Being brushed under the carpet by many posters in recent weeks but it is stinking the place out.
-
WOW how can you look so worldie one season and look so shite the next....Benteke?
At least act like you care when you don't.
-
Berbatov blatantly fouled Herd before that
-
Fulham giving us a footballing lesson here.
We really are the anti-football. Fucking clueless.
-
Poor refereeing today. But still, not an excuse. We're awful.
-
It's all very harem scarem and disorganised. Their runners from midfield just aren't being tracked at all, whether down the wing or into the box.
Herd is going to get sent off at this rate. He's not the most level headed at the best of times.
-
Fuck off Karagounis
-
Fulham have suffered 7 straight defeats. WE KNOW WHAT THAT MEEEAAAANNNNSSSSSSS.....
Sadly it means a comfortable 2-0 win for them with us looking pathetic.
Prophetic.
At least we saw it coming.
-
Fulham giving us a footballing lesson here.
We really are the anti-football. Fucking clueless.
An Alex McLeish side could give us a footballing lesson. That's how bad it's become.
-
Berbatov blatantly fouled Herd before that
Berbatov has been at it all day but the ref refuses to book him.
-
Treatment for a muddy leg....bloody poofs!
-
Berbatov blatantly fouled Herd before that
Berbatov has been at it all day but the ref refuses to book him.
Well this is Berbatov wankfest day.
-
This is a hammering. We're not even putting up a proper fight.
-
This villa team looks to me like a team that is fighting relegation.
No belief, no ideas, no quality.
thank fook for another 3 shite teams
We are missing Ron. Need a quality defender in Jan.
we need more than Ron
-
Fulham have suffered 7 straight defeats. WE KNOW WHAT THAT MEEEAAAANNNNSSSSSSS.....
Sadly it means a comfortable 2-0 win for them with us looking pathetic.
Prophetic.
At least we saw it coming.
I was rather hoping you were wrong and we could spend the post match thread mocking you.
-
I've been watching since the half hour mark and I don't think I've seen one shot from us yet. Maybe that cross / shot from Delph late in the first half. Piss poor.
-
Idiots in each other's way
-
We truly stink
-
we cant even score that
-
Very, very easy for Fulham, this.
-
After you, Claude
-
FUCKING SHOOT ONE OF YOU!!!!
-
oh westwood fuc off now
-
That pass from Westwood absolute garbage.
-
Westwood... *buries head in hands*
-
Fulham giving us a footballing lesson here.
We really are the anti-football. Fucking clueless.
An Alex McLeish side could give us a footballing lesson. That's how bad it's become.
Erm.... score Villa!
And as bad as it is, you have an incredibly selective memory on McLeish
-
we keep getting away with not conceding a third. Wish we'd score
Westwood. fucking useless
-
This is the worst I have seen Westwood play, utter garbage.
-
ok, Ill be happy with a draw at this point....
:P
-
This is up there with the crapness of the Newcastle display
-
So, what was the half time team talk then?
What has he done to pep the team up, to steady the ship and to change things to take the game to Fulham?
I can't quite work it out.
-
"Wiseman" from Quinn, there.
-
Comically hopeless. And for fucks sake...PLAY TO THE WHISTLE! Anytime our players stop playing and throw their arms up desperately, someone should bloody shoot them.
-
Can see us getting sucked into a relegation battle.
-
weimann and westwood
go on holiday for a year please
-
"Wiseman" from Quinn, there.
He's almost as good as Guzman or Benteekey.
-
Westwood. If I didn't laugh I'd cry
-
As poor as this has been you get the impression we get one we could get two. Ludicrous though it sounds. The getting the one bit might need a bit of help mind you.
-
I wish Niall Quinn would stop calling him Guzman.
I think it's fair to say the tactical changes haven't worked
Two players got in each others' way there. I don't see why Weimann was appealng for hands. He'd have been better off striking it properly.
-
weimann and westwood
go on holiday for a year please
I'd go as far as sod off and don't come back on todays display.
-
"Wiseman" from Quinn, there.
He's been saying 'Guzman' all game too
-
Can see us getting sucked into a relegation battle.
That's a tad dramatic isn't it?
-
This is the worst I have seen Westwood play, utter garbage.
Agreed, his performance and delivery have been shocking
-
Bring on helenius lambert got to be better than this shower of shite
-
YES GABBY!!! THINK....I love that coming from Gabby, the thickest looking player in the world
-
Fulham giving us a footballing lesson here.
We really are the anti-football. Fucking clueless.
An Alex McLeish side could give us a footballing lesson. That's how bad it's become.
Erm.... score Villa!
And as bad as it is, you have an incredibly selective memory on McLeish
His memory can't be any worse than your eyesight, Ozz. ;)
-
Can see us getting sucked into a relegation battle.
That's a tad dramatic isn't it?
I can imagine it happening if we continue playing this poorly for an extended length of time.
-
Thanks Villa. Just as I started to believe we were making a push for the title you do this. Bastards.
-
Fulham are an average side who've been underperforming. We're a poor side who've been overperforming. There's been a swingaround today. We've run out of luck and sorely miss Vlaar.
-
Long ball again....
-
Can see us getting sucked into a relegation battle.
That's a tad dramatic isn't it?
We are six points clear today, losing to a side in the bottom three. Also, we seem to be getting worse every time I see us.
-
Big transfer window coming up for Lambert.
-
Fulham giving us a footballing lesson here.
We really are the anti-football. Fucking clueless.
An Alex McLeish side could give us a footballing lesson. That's how bad it's become.
Erm.... score Villa!
And as bad as it is, you have an incredibly selective memory on McLeish
I can only remember the shit bit's from TSM's reign...
-
Nice quick feet Delph
-
Have we put in a decent performance against a struggling side?
-
nearly OG there
-
All this needs now is the Benny Hill music.
-
Keystone cops defending again
-
This should be 0-3 by now.
-
This is fucking dire...
-
Why are we hoofing every fucking ball 60 yards forward to Benteke? It might work when our forwards are 2v2 against a high pressing team like Southampton but here when Fulham have 8 players back why are we twatting it forward instead of passing the bloody thing down the wing?
-
Shite.
-
Weimann has been truly awful today.
-
Tonev is a fucking poor excuse for a footballer.
-
Can see us getting sucked into a relegation battle.
That's a tad dramatic isn't it?
I can imagine it happening if we continue playing this poorly for an extended length of time.
Doesn't that apply to every team? I imagine Man U fans are thinking the same thing. We could win next weekend against a team who have been playing as poorly as us in recent weeks.
-
Saddest of all .... Lambert has failed to react once again to something that plainly isn't working.
-
I Gonna have my afternoon snooze now
-
Jesus!!! I do look at us sometimes and think I have played in better Sunday league teams than us.
-
Is Riise wearing a hairpiece?
-
As much as everyone groaned at Herds inclusion today, he's actually been head and shoulders our best defender. And he's still only been about 6/10 today.
-
You'd think someone for Weimann would be a good shout. Perhaps Albrighton.
Hmm. Tonev is a bit of a headless chicken isn't he!
Just what the cotton hell rooting tooting fuck is going on back there. And why are we pussying out of it and playing ridiculous lay-offs on the edge of our box?
-
and Lambert does nothing
-
Saddest of all .... Lambert has failed to react once again to something that plainly isn't working.
He hasn't got it in him I don't think. No tactical nous at all and fortune has deserted him today.
-
Thanks Villa. Just as I started to believe we were making a push for the title you do this. Bastards.
;)
-
Why couldn't the Villa board ever be bloody inventive for once and do a Southampton
-
Tonev is a fucking poor excuse for a footballer.
was just thinking the same, he fits in well in the current squad with the other collection of garbage
wouldnt like to be a sub on the villa bench today, if the manager doesnt think your worth a run on a day like today its time to find a new club
-
Come on Villa, you bunch of fucking ******.
-
Weimann has been truly awful today.
That is far, far too kind.
Much of the issue in midfield is the lack of options up top. Gabby is too central, Weimann never seems to have a position. 4-3-3 should have 2 wide forwards, who can beat players and get in behind to supply the big man.
-
Can we bring Damien Duff on? Please...please can we?
-
Manure will be worried
expect the Villa back lash against them
-
Why has Lambert made no substitutions this half?
-
This is shite as was Soton to be fair but in that match we managed to get goals on the break.
-
Lambert's post match will be interesting. He's become a master at spin, and dramatic draws and wins help. But when you lose in the much the same manner as the games won without the help of those goals, well it's like walking naked in the street on a cold day trying to convince everyone you're fully dressed and warm.
-
Weimann has been truly awful today.
poor season for me
-
If Fulham can own this team like this, imagine what Man U will do to us next sunday....
-
Can see us getting sucked into a relegation battle.
No, because it depends how poorly you are playing to start with.
I'd also bet everything I own that Man U fans aren't thinking anything like the same thing. They're not going to get sucked into a relegation battle. If we carry on with this sort of level of performance for too much longer, we will be.
What I do know is we need to start putting together some much improved performances, and soon.
There's no movement, no passing, no ball retention, and far too much hopeful lumping in recent weeks. We've got away with it to an extent, but we've been found out today by a side that has lost its last fourteen thousand matches.
-
Delph okay.
Guzan okay.
Herd okay.
The rest have been astonishingly shite. Oh well, easy game next week.
-
Put some studs on your boots Westy...thats the third time you've been on your arse
-
When did we last put in a performance like Fulham have today?
-
What other PL teams would the likes of Westwood, Tonev,Herd, KEA or Weimann get into?
-
Big transfer window coming up for Lambert.
Don't hold your breath .
-
Weimann has been truly awful today.
poor season for me
I don't think he's as good as the buzz either. Playing persistently out of position doesn't help him. He's not a wide forward. He has to be playing up through the middle if he's got any chance at this level.
-
Lambert's post match will be interesting. He's become a master at spin, and dramatic draws and wins help. But when you lose in the much the same manner as the games won without the help of those goals, well it's like walking naked in the street on a cold day trying to convince everyone you're fully dressed and warm.
No presser is ever going to ask him a clever enough question to give us some insight though. There won't be any questions about the system, or lack of substitutions or creativity, or why so many long balls. It'll just be 'how do you feel to lose' and 'Benteke didn't play well, are you concerned'.
-
It's odd, I think individually Herd and Clark have been two of our better players. But the team as a whole has looked very shakey at the back.
I think this second half is pretty good evidence of why we don't play 442. We're not good enough. Westwood and Delph just aren't physicallly strong enough. And we don't keep the ball or create well enough to warrant that degree of risk.
-
Who have we got on the bench that can really make a difference?
-
Guzan has been poor IMO
-
What the fuck was that, for example?
-
I would take any other premier league teams midfield ahead of ours....anyones!
-
Great long pass to their keeper
-

I thought the lads were fantastic
weimann was truly class today
-
What other PL teams would the likes of Westwood, Tonev,Herd, KEA or Weimann get into?
I think some of those would struggle to get into Championship sides.
It says it all that Sidwell and Parker have looked a class apart today.
-
Excluding the GK, this has to be the worst defence we've fielded in the prem league. Its breaking new records for shitness year on year in recent times, we lose a promising youngster for the season together with the best of a bad bunch being out for a couple of games and we get this lot. I think Bacunas a good player mind, but he's no fullback.
-

I'm not convinced by anything he has done since he's been here. We have the worst squad and play the worst football I've witnessed since supporting villa. All his doing, he is a chump
-
I can take losing but not when we don't even look like we've got a clue.
Our passing is fucking shocking.
Very frustrating.
-
We simply lack enough players of premiership quality.
-
Which also tells you that teams can turn it around and start to play well. So can we. From being 10th at the start of the day with sides below us losing games one defeat however poorly we have played doesn't equal a relegation battle. Now if we also stop scoring also then we're fucked.
-
Too fucking late, Paul, too fucking late.
-
Sorry Paul, substitutions are at least 20 minutes too late.
-
Weimann , Westwood and bacuna have all been utterly shit today - why wait until 80 minutes to make the last 2 changes.
-
why didnt he bring weimann on
-
So NOW he makes the substitutions we've wanted for nearly the whole half. Maybe we could do this job sometimes.
-
Should we sell Benteke and spend £20m on a new midfield.
-
Guzan has been poor IMO
Everything falling apart in front of him hasn't helped, but his save in the first half was a worldy to be fair. That aside it's been his poorest game all season.
-
Yeah. Lowton on for the last 10 minutes will transform this match. Nice one Paul *taps nose*
-

He'll just bang on about the penalty being a massive decision.
-
With 10 mins left....??????
-
Fuck it..
-
Villa bending over to a team that haven't won in 7.
Delph booked.
Just need an injured defender to complete the set.
Prophetic.
-
Should have had Lowton on 82 minutes ago. Should have hooked Weimann at half time
-

Yeh, I wish Mat Kendrick would spend less time thinking of truly awful puns and more time asking better questions.
-
Guzan has been poor IMO
They have been collectively shit today.
-
I can take losing but not when we don't even look like we've got a clue.
Our passing is fucking shocking.
Very frustrating.
That's the problem, our passing is truly awful, just awful.
-
No spin can be put on this surely? We have been utter shite. Is he going to blame injuries etc?
It's beyond obvious where we lack as a side. Delph aside, the entire midfield needs revamping. Useless. Weimann has been poor the entire season so far, got his new contract and has vanished since. Need a new wide player and a number 10.
-
I know Lambert has had his hands tied to a point....but is this the best we can hope???
-
When did we last put in a performance like Fulham have today?
aresnal and chelsea I thought we were great
pretty downhill since
-
Delph okay.
Guzan okay.
Herd okay.
The rest have been astonishingly shite. Oh well, easy game next week.
think clark has been ok. to be fair to herd and clark, the full backs playing next to them have been comical
surely these subs could have been made after 55 mins. Just beggars belief really
-
Come ref, blow your whistle and put us out of our misery.
-
Hollywood ball there from Westwood.
-

Really? i think bacuna is in the same league as j lloyd samuel
-
There has been too much of " no worries we counter attack" to " teams playing us must be scared" etc. I guess it doesn't always work specially when you are behind due to stupid goals
-

And the 'exceptional' performance in the midweek win taking its toll.
-
pen?

The penalty decisions will be the get out card today - I guarantee it.
-
why didnt he bring weimann on
My joke, first half!
-
thats a pen
-
Embarrassing performance to be honest.
Poor free kicks
Poor in possession
No attacking threat
No width
-
Mike Dean is ......
-
ffs more of a pen than fulhams
-

I was just thinking that, it's a ready-made excuse, and to a point, it has validity, but our passing the ball like a bunch of 6 year olds isn't explained by it.
-
Stone wall pen.
-
That was a fucking pen.
-
No doubt about it, the ref is shit.
-
I support a lot of what Lambert does, but fuck me, waiting until 80 mins to make more changes is a tad of the shit side.
-
It's one thing to be shite, but not to get any decisions our way is just God pissing on us fans today.
-
Doesn't matter. Pen would only have gone out for a throw in anyway.
-
Watch Scott Parker --- THATS how to tackle lads
-
Dive. Gabby's been watching Ash Young vids.
-
Weimann has been truly awful today.

Quite right, and if played correctly with someone in midfield who can 'play him in' regularly i think you would start to feel the buzz.
-
Can we have a scrolling marquee on the site, reminding us permanently that we actually aren't very good?
-
I know Lambert has had his hands tied to a point....but is this the best we can hope???
No this is it for me. The budget issue might have been an issue for the first season, but not now. The lack of any progression and basics like set pieces do it for me. Good coaches can get shit teams at least looking solid. We look nothing of the sort.
-
When we get the ball it looks like the game goes into slow motion. Fulham get the ball and its back to normal speed.
-
That was a penalty. Much moreso than theirs.
Benteke is showing no movement at all now.
-
Weimann has been truly awful today.

well that shows what a stupid decision by Lambert
hes making him look shit - waste of a player
-
The ultimate embarrassment - Fulham fans chanting '2 nil cos you're facking shit'
-
Fulham won't get an easier game all season.
-
This team is crying out for two or three experienced players, particularly in midfield. There's so little leadership in the side at the moment.
-
Which of these teams looks Championship Standard?
-
I know United are crap....but we're going to get smashed by them...I just know it, and it all starts again.
-
No doubt about it, the ref is shit.
I'd like to spend an hour or two rubbing a cheese grater against that face.
-
This team is crying out for two or three experienced players, particularly in midfield. There's so little leadership in the side at the moment.
Yup.
As was the cast for most of last season.
-
blatant pen
we deserve fuck all though, disturbing lack of spirit showed by the players today and the quality of football was another effort at Wimbeldon 89.
-
I blame those who posted on the match thread early.
-
This team is crying out for two or three experienced players, particularly in midfield. There's so little leadership in the side at the moment.
The funny thing is that the most experienced midfielder we've had on the pitch today was our worst and least leaderly performance of the afternoon.
-
We are basically a cheaper version of MON's team all counter attack not enough quality in midfield.
Seriously our midfield is being battered by Steve fucking Sidwell a player we paid 60k a week to then gave away from free ..couldn't make this shit up
-
I support a lot of what Lambert does, but fuck me, waiting until 80 mins to make more changes is a tad of the shit side.
Strange how he didn't learn from the albion game.

Truth hurts, doesn't it.
-

I said at the time that doomed us.
-
Parker, Barry, Nolan, Milner... all would do a job in our midfield.
-
pen?
Probably yes , but lets not let the ref carry the can for this display - the team have been shockingly shit !
-
didn't compete against a team low on confidence we get what we deserve
-
This team is crying out for two or three experienced players, particularly in midfield. There's so little leadership in the side at the moment.
We don't 'do' experience.
Remember we were able to turn our nose up at the offer of Barry in the summer, because he doesn't fit our new model.
-
What's Heskey up to these days? He says hopefully...
-
Should we sell Benteke and spend £20m on a new midfield.
wouldnt trust Lambert with the money
-
Another pinpoint corner...
-
Scott Parker should have played for us at some point.
-
Should have been a penalty regardless of our performance.
Still, this has been terrible and I fear an absolute mauling against man u next game.
-
Fulham have had 20 shots, 8 on target. Pretty similar to Southampton game.
-

Yup.

The old chestnut of who could we bring in to replace Lambert will no doubt be the last line of defence.
-

And you'll have to start going to games again
-
Its times like this that I think Martinez might of been a GREAT option.
Oh well, time to watch 2 teams who play football in 40 mins.
-
Blast from the past. Darren Byfield has come on for Tamworth.
-
This team is crying out for two or three experienced players, particularly in midfield. There's so little leadership in the side at the moment.

I don't know how much Everton are paying Gareth Barry but ........well, you know the rest.
-
Randy won't do what needs to be done.
I'm afraid you may be right: the kind of player I'm talking about wouldn't cost much in transfer fee but the wages would probably be higher than we're prepared to pay. But someone of the experience of Scott Parker, for instance, would be so beneficial to us. Or Petrov, sadly.
-
The ultimate embarrassment - Fulham fans chanting '2 nil cos you're facking shit'
Truth hurts, doesn't it.
Yep, they're facking right.
-
Parker, Barry, Nolan, Milner... all would do a job in our midfield.
Yes, and at least three of them are on wages that we just wouldn't pay
-
lots of players hands on hips feeling sorry for themselves
-
Benteke's stopped playing now
-
Niall Quinn 89th minute - "Christian Benteke hasn't quite been at it today has he".
Thanks Niall.
-
I blame those who posted on the match thread early.

And you'll have to start going to games again
Do I have to? It's getting cold!
-
I think we do have enough players who are Premier League quality. Just the ones who are are woefully off form. Benteke has looked shite for a few games - he'll be back but at the moment it's not good. Same with Weimann. Same with Lowton. Same with Westwood. They're the footballing equivalent of the England Cricket team at the moment. A lot of good players off form and it needs to improve.
-
Its times like this that I think Martinez might of been a GREAT option.
Oh well, time to watch 2 teams who play football in 40 mins.
He was and he turned down an approach as he did with Liverpool because he wanted to stay at Wigan. He only took the Everton job once it was vacated and Wigan had gone down.
-
I can scarcely watch and I'm paying.
Benteke nearly scored mind ...
-
WE HAD A SHOT!! WE HAD A SHOT!!
-

Was just thinking of that comparison. We could do worse than quite an overhaul in the first team.
-
I think our best actual all round performance was when we lost 2-1 at Stamford Bridge....
Apart from that I can't remember us looking convincing against anyone.
-
That's it then. Very, very poor.
-
We never make anything look easy, or comfortable when we attack. It's desperate and hopeful(hopeless). We've been totally outclassed today. Parker might be past his best but he's been excellent today. He's premiership quality. Sidwells a solid player and has done well. KEA and Westwood are nowhere near Prem level. Not even within a country mile.
The warning signs have been there for the last few months. Carry on as clueless, desperate and huff and puff as we were, and results would eventually flounder.
-
Another brilliant Westwood corner
-
I blame those who posted on the match thread early.

Do I have to? It's getting cold!
You need to sacrifice for the greater good
-
Tonev is a fucking poor excuse for a footballer.
I'm not sure what he is meant to bring to the team but you get what you pay for & we pay fuck all.
Our results have been better than our performances. Anyone who watches us knows we are a shit to watch, totally reliant on the one or two quality players we have. Unless we buy some quality we are going to need every one of those points come May.
Mike Dean - twat.
-
Boooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
-
well that was pretty horrible
Im getting pissed off with Lambert more and more
-
Lowton keen to get Berbatov's shirt, there.
-
Should we sell Benteke and spend £20m on a new midfield.
I would. Doesn't look arsed, right now wouldn't care if he went in January. Give Kozák the CF spot.
Go all out for Fischer, Kiyotake and maybe one other.
Centre back on loan too.
-
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Sick of Lambert and Lerner to be honest
-
Sick of Lambert and Lerner to be honest
You know we're still in the top half?
-
Shocking officiating aside that was some oafish, clumsy, ineffective, lacklustre shite against a struggling shit team of misfits. Not good enough.
-
Parker showed our midfield how to do it today.
Awful tactics, no movement, resulting in long balls.
-
Sick of Lambert and Lerner to be honest
You know we're still in the top half?
We have rode our luck in a few games to be fair. Can't recall one game where we've won and been comfortable, particularly against teams around us.
That has to change.
-
Sick of Lambert and Lerner to be honest
You know we're still in the top half?
Only stats that count blah blah blah. We are a joke.
-
Central defender and central midfielder with experience, leadership and an exceptable level of quality is pretty much all it needs. Been saying it for 18 months, maybe longer but i'll say it again anyway.
-

Shame the player who could do both roles is playing at Highbury at this very moment
