This lot should be more difficult than Wednesday's lot. They're in the second tier and have their own English-language Wiki page (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SC_Paderborn_07).
Will we get our first win of pre-season? Maybe.
Will we keep a clean sheet? Don't be fucking stupid.
Pandaporn 1 Villa 3.

Oophs.
Enschuldigen Sie bitte.
-
SC Pandaporn!!
Bravo Bullyweefan.
-
The pace of the game the other day was very slow. Typical of a first pre-season game back, all a little lethargic, players still jogging off the summer beer and bbq. I don't expect this to be much different so it'll be tight.
2-1 Villa. Maximus Helenius, Wiemann.
-
To the Paderborn, starring Penelope von Keif and Dieter Bowles.
Has anybody done that one yet before PWS goes digging?
-
I know Paderborn quite well. Went there on work often many many years ago. As it's in the dambuster region and so became handy for a visit there. It's a bit like Nuneaton .....

It will be nice to see the new away kit today

Roadworks and slag heaps then?

Loads of traffic trying to get out of the place as fast as possible too I imagine
-
Two one, Villa. It will rain.

Are their fans as violent as the Nuneaton Ultras?
-
I have played in their old stadium, Army Minor Units Cup sem-final in 1989, we beat 16 Tank Transporter Regiment 4-2 after extra time.
-
I'm going for a loss tonight. Maybe 3-1. No idea why just not convinced we have goals in us
-
Paderborn - so we return to Castle Wolfenstein? Interesting. Very interesting.
-
What time's kick off chaps?
-
What time's kick off chaps?
4pm UK time

I'll go for 2-0 with our new beanpole Helenius to get them both.
-

There's not much to Paderborn but it's nowhere near as bad as Nuneaton which truly is the arse end of the world.

Cheers TV.
-
We're crap and doomed for relegation.
Them 15 Us 1
-
3-0 to Villa - Josh Web hatrick.
-
Jordan Bowery to have a Benteke-esque game and destroy the opposition single handed. 5-0 Villa. Bowery 5.
-
2-1 Villa
It'll be really really bad is my guess
-

That's no good, I wanted to be entertained whilst at work and I'll be leaving about 15 minutes after kick-off!
Will just have to keep checking cricinfo for the Ashes score instead.
-
2-1. Helenius and Tonev to score.
-
Bloody Germany and their Streetview ban. I wanted to have an online stroll to the ground
-
2-1 Villa can see us getting our first pre season win.
-
I quite like Paderborn's Martin Amedick, because his surname is "I'm a dick" *snigger*.
3-1 Villa. 2 for Helenius, 1 for Bacuna and Mario Vrančić will net for Paderborn. Specific-prediction-like-a-mofo. 8)
-
It was a game of two halves and if we continue to concede from corners we will finish no higher than twelvetieth.

First Half
Steer, Vlaar, Clark, Bacuna, Helenius, Westwood, Delph, Webb, Bowery, Bennett, Carruthers.
Second Half
Guzan, Lowton, Baker, El Ahmadi, Luna, Sylla, Bowery, Weimann, Herd, Gardner, Carruthers.
-
Not long to go now, come on the Villa
-
A game of two halves alright. Carruthers the only constant.
-
No Tonev?
-
Jack had better be sitting on his own with no kids around
-

Second Half
Guzan, Lowton, Baker, El Ahmadi, Luna, Sylla, Bowery, Weimann, Herd, Gardner, Carruthers.
A salutory reminder of what this is all about, a run out to get everyone a bit of match practice and fitness and to make them feel involved. With the exception of Tonev it appears....

This ground has a press box apparently, the flashy gits.
Tonev and Gabby on the bench I suppose
-

And Bowery. I'd have brought another youngster like Drennan or Burke though. And Donacien would be a good shout too as we're light at the back.

Trying to prepare us for a defeat, Richard?
Anything but a convincing Villa win today and I'll be getting the bed sheets out. Lambert beware!

Paul AVFC: CORRECTION - Second Half: Guzan, Lowton, Baker, El Ahmadi, Luna, Sylla, Burke, Weimann, Herd, Gardner, Gardner. #AVFC
-
Two Gardners?
-
They asexually reproduce I suppose.
-
Did we re-sign Craig on the quiet? :P
-
I hope not. Gary is just so good they named one of the other players after him.
-
What time is kickoff?
And
Will there be any links to watch this?
-
Webb at RB, Carruthers wide forward?
-
As far as I can tell, nothing's happened.

Bollox!
Rick ten Voorde. Simple finish after good run down the left from Thomas Bertels.
-
Still keeping up our no clean sheet tradition even in pre season :)
-
1-0 paderborn according to Mat Kendrick

No, just register. You'll need to pay, unless you have a season ticket code, to hear Jack Woodwank's live commentary.
I strongly recommend the text only.

HT Paerporn 1 Villa 0
-
Let's hope the second XI do a bit better this half.
-
Paderborn 1-0 Villa - HT: Hosts are in front at the break, Rick ten Voorde finishing neatly after good play down the left from Thomas Bertels. Villa had a couple of half-chances, Ciaran Clark heading wide and Ashley Westwood seeing a close-range shot blocked for a corner. 10 changes at the break.
-
Apparently Clark had a good half.
-
Apparently Clark had a good half.
Of lager? Beer? We need someone ITK to tell us these things.
-
I'll be tuning in 2nd half. hope bring boys luck.. 3/1 the draw and 8/1 the win !! with wil hills !! with thiose changes it could be worth a play???

I wouldn't go near a pre-season amble-around like this for betting activity, to be honest.
-
At least Jack doesn't seem to be using his mobile this time.
-
Herd and Baker at centre-half this second half.
-
Att: 3,352. Who had that in the GTC?
-
Approximately 250 of those are Villa.
-
At least Jack doesn't seem to be using his mobile this time.
The problem is that you can now understand his sub-Partridge witterings.
-
Karim has looked very lively so far this half. I think he's playing in a more advanced midfield role.
-
Weimann 1 -1
-
GOAL!!!!!! Weimann!
In on goal, rounded the keeper, tapped it in!
-
Ooooh Burke on. Come on son.
-
Get in well done Andi!
-
FT 1-1
Not the worst result considering their season starts next week so they will be much fitter than us.
-
One of my mates who's over there text saying Paderborn were quite good. It's all about fitness and the new players gelling in i suppose at the moment.
-
80's revisited, in more ways than one.

The Meaning Evil says that Okore, Tonev and Agbonlahor are already carrying knocks, while Albrighton is missing practice because of an illness. The latter is particularly strange because he was pictured on the Paderborn pitch with Agbonlahor earlier this afternoon.
-
When oh when are we going to win a match? Disgrace.
-
I have played in their old stadium, Army Minor Units Cup sem-final in 1989, we beat 16 Tank Transporter Regiment 4-2 after extra time.
were you allowed to use your military equipment? if so, you must be nails.
-
It was nice to meet several members of the German Villans today also Sligotom and Nechells Villan.

Perhaps he's got hay fever.

I was Royal Signals so our radios and teleprinters were hardly a match for their 40 ton tank transporters. We still won though,
-
Highlights are now on AVTV. Both goals are pretty decent.

What the hell has happened to Super Marc? I swear he's running out of excuses for not playing. Really hoping he can return to 2010 and tear some fullbacks apart soon.
-
Precious away goal. We'll muller them in the second leg.

I used to work for a construction company on an MoD contract and would have cause to visit many Raf and army bases around the country - why do they call royal signals scaley backs, always wondered, but never asked anyone before?

I believe it comes from WWI. The radios the signallers carried had huge battery packs which used to leak acid down the back of the poor sod carrying it causing acid burns and a "scaley back".
-
Looking at the match report on OS it looks like Samir Carruthers is the only one to do the full match, hope he breaks into the first team this year.

We played there about 22 years ago against Borussia Möenchengladbach. Tight little ground.
-
I heard that a few of ours got mixed up with some local Turks, much against the advice of some resident squaddies. It left them a little light on beer money after the law had their take.
