Well, I'm back.
Sunday 19.5.13 4pm ko
0-4 away win
Bennett 25
Weimann 41
Bent 56
Agbonlahor 84
See you next season. Or not, depending on how things pan out...
-
2-1 Villa win, who cares... now all together "we'll meet again"
-
1-4 away win and 12th place finish!
Dont know where , dont know when......
-
0-3 Bent hat-trick
-
Wigan 2 Villa 6
-
Wigan 0 - 19 Villa - Happy Petrov day!
-
I don't think Bent will start TBH. Bowery more likely. I hope that either Gardner and/or Carruthers can get some game also. I'll go 3-1 to us. Weimann, Delph and Gabby. Maloney for them.
-
Given we are now safe I would play Jordan Bowery in the centre forward role, for 2 reasons.
1/ I reckon he's been bought as back up for Benteke.
2/ Darren Bent won't be with us next season.
Can see this being a cracking game 3-5 to the Villa
Weimann 2
Bowery
Delph
Sylla
probably not, but I'd love those last 3 to score
-
1-1, neither team really trying that hard, but both sets of fans in great spirits.
-
4-1 to us. They can parade their FA Cup afterwards whie sporting a sore bum from the hiding they just took.
-
It feels great not to care.
-
The pressure's off, everybody will have something to celebrate - them the cup; us staying up, Petrov Day and a 2:0 victory.
-
I'd like us to score in the 19th minute.
-
I'd like us to score in the 19th minute.
Wouldn't that be great?
-
4-0 Villa
Bent 3
gabby
-
Do you know what I'd like to see? The second the clock shows 19 for all players, subs, coaches, managers, officials etc as well as all the fans in attendance at the game to stop and applaud for 60 seconds. That would be a final, fitting gesture to Stan for this season.
-
It feels wonderful to not be that bothered about this one. Though would be nice to get one back on them after losing at home.
I don't think I'd play Bent, given he may leave. So I reckon CNZ for Benteke, with Gabby up front. Gardner and Bowery to come off the bench second half.
Only worth playing Lowton if he's definitely fit.
-
Who cares but maybe 3-1 to Villa although it would be nice to achieve the elusive clean sheet.
-
Keep Bent injury free.
-
Given the stress we've felt all season it is a relief that this game doesn't bare the weight it could potentially have done.
Having said that, it certainly isn't meaningless. I would fucking LOVE to finish 11th.
-
Wigan 3 (Bennett og 3, Kone pen 44, Maloney 75)
Villa 4 (Vlaar 77, Delph 85, Bowery 90, Bent 90+5.)
Villa: Guzan, Lowton (Lichaj), Vlaar, Baker, Bennett, Westwood (Clark), Sylla, Delph, Gabby, Weimann, Bowery (Bent)
Yellow cards: Boyce, Kone, MaccaSomething. Red cards: Maloney (76)
-
Song suggestion 1: "My Old Man said talk like Dave Whelan, I said F off father he's a C".
-
Song suggestion 2: (To the tune of Gabby's song) - "Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Martinez, our club's too small, our club's too sma-a-a-all."
-
Have liqueurs been taken?
-
Song suggestion 3: (To the tune of Di Canio's song) - "Our club's too small for you, Our club's too small for you (repeat)."
-
Song suggestion 4: "We won no cups, we're staying up, doo dah, doo dah."
-
8)
-
Looking forward to enjoying this game. First one I will be able to genuinely stress free enjoy for months!
-
Keep Bent injury free.
Good point.
-
1 - 8 to Villa
-
1 - 8 to Villa
Insane. I go for a more conservative 2-7 to Villa. I think Wigan will be well up for it and we cant defend so they can score 2.
-
Wigan 2
Maloney x2
Aston Villa 3
Weimann, Bent x2
-
2-2 we still won't keep a clean sheet
-
Who cares. Let's all ave a disco.
-
Bent should start on Sunday, give him a chance to get in the shop window.
-
Don't care. Enjoy your day out all of you lucky enough to have tickets and have a great Petrov Day.
-
Be interested to see the team selection, no pressure game so I'd play all 4 of CNZ, Bent, Gabby and Weimann tbh. Give Carrathuers and Gardner some minutes in the second half aswell.
2-2.
-
Them 0 Us 9 (Nine)
-
Wigan 2 - 5 Villa
There's a claret and blue sword and it is aimed for Wigan's heart
-
At something like 750,000 per league placing this is worth circa 3.75m isn't it?
-
Extra 895 tickets released now. They can't wait for the season to end, Lambert will fire us up to climb the table . All out attack, 3-1 to us
-
Wigan 0 - 16 Aston Villa
Agbonlahor (16)
-
1-10. That could well be our formation. Fuck knows what the score will be.
-
I vote we start a campaign for Guzan to be rushing goalie.
-
Benteke to score a hat-trick with the power of his mind from the stand
-
0-2 Villa
-
Let's just make Petrov Day a day to remember. Lovely interview with him on AVTV.
Plus this on the OS.
Stan Petrov has thanked supporters for organising 'Stan Petrov Day' for the game against Wigan.
Almost 4,000 supporters will wear face masks of Petrov on Sunday to honour their former skipper who has retired from football after being struck down by acute leukaemia.
Petrov admitted it was funny to hear of the tribute afternoon on the final day of the season but stressed he was honoured to hear of the fun-filled festivities.
He told AVTV: "I have seen the masks. They look nothing like me at the moment!
"It's really funny. It will be funny and weird to see my face on 4,000 other people.
"I will really enjoy it. It will be even more enjoyable because we're safe now. The fans will go and enjoy it and I'm sure I will too."
Petrov chatted days after he led an "incredible and emotional" lap of appreciation following the Chelsea game.
He added: "I was surprised I was able to hold my tears. I was almost there.
"It was so emotional saying bye. I was nervous.
"When I walked on the pitch and the fans were there with their posters singing my name it was incredible.
"I had a great day and it was perfect."
-
A visit to every pub in Wigan town centre and 10 pints for me. Is there a game on or something?
-
Exhibition football from Villa and a routine 3-1 win.
Weimann, Gabby and Bennett.
-
I care.
Like every game, I'm getting nervous and want us to win, not that I ever thought we'd ever get relegated, I just love it when we win. It makes my weekend, puts a smile on face, makes me believe in our progression. Nothing would make me happier on Sunday than finishing off the season with a victory, seeing the Villa fans celebrating behind the goal then reading your tales on here of how much fun you had.
It's been a tough season and the Villa fans have been superb throughout. I hope the lads give them the victory they deserve.
3-1 Villa. Bowery, Delph and Sylla (from 45 yards but too late for Goal of the Season).
-
Wigan 4-8 Villa.
-
Hopefully we'll better Southampton's result as I have £20 with a mate that we'll finish above them.
-
3-0 Villa. Benteke hattrick. Yeah I know, but he's just that good.
-
1-5 Villa, Bent 19th, 38th, 57th, 76th & 95th minutes!
-
Its nice not having to worry about it.
-
2-2 with Villa leading well in to injury time before shocking defending lets Maloney into score an equaliser
-
1-2. We will miss Benteke but they are shell shocked after Tuesday and tired and drained generally. Watching the aftermath of the Arsenal game gave me the impression they really didn't think they were going down and the cup final seemed to distract them from how serious the situation was.
-
2-2, a farewell to Bent and not a care in the world
-
At something like 750,000 per league placing this is worth circa 3.75m isn't it?
Can't remember who it was who came out with the laughable suggestion that the entire league campaign had been organised in order to provide SKY with a relegation decider for the final day (or words to that effect) but now I've read that it makes sense. That is how they will be selling the match on SKY.

Talk Shite are now promoting this as 'judgement day' or some other load of old tosh for Spurs and Arsenal. You can just imagine the behind the scenes scurrying around to change all the hyped up straplines and advertising once the relegation places were sorted
-
4-2 Villa.
-
Gabby, Delph and Gardner to score for us.
3-3...
-
2-1 Villa, Gabby and Weimann scoring.
-
Not buying this "don't care nonesense"
Every game should be played to win, even if its played just for personal pride!
-
A win could make our final league placement look almost respectable so it will be worth making an effort.
-
We'll win despite Benteke's absence. It will be a terrific game though, I think, with the shackles off for different reasons and Wigan especially playing for some pride in front of their fans. Most of all, both teams are good in attack and horrible in defence, so it should be end-to-end and fun. So, in all honesty, I can't pick a winner for this one, but I'm saying we will - 4-2 - because. Just Because.
-
Think it'll be a 1-1. Bent for us and Maloney to score for them
-
1-3 Villa
Bowerey, Bent and Nzogbia
-

Unless you're the Stripeyfilth.
-
Just look how Liverpool have played without Suarez. We can do the same without Benteke. I think Weimann is tired but can still do a job so come on Bowery (I think Lambert will still leave Bent out). He could put Zog in of course and hope he will take the pi*s out of his old team.

Yes, they should be investigated for match-fixing.
-
4-1 Villa, Gabby hatrick and a last goal from Bent.

I can't wait to play that lot next season
-
Benteke to score a hat-trick with the power of his mind from the stand
In a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen turban. A finger to each temple, murmuring words of power
-
Gabby will open the scoring by receiving the ball in the centre circle, compressing matter in front of him and expanding it behind him moving reality around him and appearing in the goal with the ball.
Definitely.
-
You can only get 6/4 against that happening with betfair.
-
Can see this ending up as a high scoring draw.
-
We'll be up for this I think. The higher we finish, the better it looks and the more prize money we receive.
I'd also like to give Bowery the nod up front. Much as I like Benty and would like to see him go out with a goal or two. He's a goner and Bowery is for the future. I'd like to see what the lad can do in his favoured position from the start.
I'd also bring Zoggy in for Andy, who's looked tired of late.
It would also be nice to see Gardner get some game time in the 2nd half.
-
If they don't score any tries, I'm counting it as a clean sheet.
-
Would love Darren Bent to have the game of his Villa career and a rousing send-off from the travelling Villans.
Class act
-
Bent has been incredibly professional. Would love him to go out with a Hat trick. Seems strange that a player i have wanted to be at Villa for years seems to be leaving in these circumstances. Thats football ......
-
I'd play all the crap just for the laugh. Stick the likes of Ireland in there if he's fit(ish). Send the kids on holiday and basically stick two fingers up at whelan and his manager who was too big for us.
Score 2-3 (Ireland hattrick)
-
Would you? I wouldn't. I'd like to see us put on a performance that makes everyone sit up and watch. Shame Benteke cannot be involved.
-
To be honest Legion i don't really care now. It appeals to me somewhat to rub Wigan's nose in it and make some of our duffers work for at least 1 weekend this season. I'm sure we'll take it serious(ish) though.
-
I care. The more points and the higher we finish the more money we get. Plus I'd have preferred Stoke or Sunderland to have gone down instead of Wigan.
-
How can losing to Wigan be construed as sticking two fingers up at them?
-
The pressure is finally off the young lads, they will go out there and destroy Wigan.
Wigan 1 Villa 6.
Gabby (2), Weimann, Westwood,Baker,Sylla.
-
How can losing to Wigan be construed as sticking two fingers up at them?
Because it doesn't matter. At all. A week ago it did.I'm sure the league placing money is important but its gonna be a strange nothing sort of game really, given what it could have meant to both teams
Motivation on wigan's part i can't see beyond wanting a winning send off before they plunge off the abyss never to return or proving they were indeed better than us and deserved to stay up. Putting out our duffers instead is pretty two fingerish to me. Especially if we won.
-
They took the piss winning 0-3 at VP so it's time to get some revenge and I'll go for a reverse of that scoreline this time around
N'Zogbia for Benteke would be my only change from last week
Would like to see Bent come on even if only for a cameo role and would be great if he could bag a goal
-
Wigan 4 Villa 7
Bent (2)
Bowery (1)
Gabby (1)
Wiemann (1)
Westwood (1)
Delph (1)
-
I'm wondering if our 8-0 defeat against Chelski actually helped us in the relegation fight, knowing even then that Wigan would be involved. Quick perusal of Wigan's results, and the most goals they conceded in a game was 4, though on more than one occasion. We'll never know, but I wonder if they were a tad complacent given their previous last minute escapes from relegation, and possibly concentrating too much on an awful Villa result.
-
Cup did for them IMO. They say the table doesn't lie but if they'd been totally concentrated on the league then i think they would have stayed up. Forget us, I'd say they were better than Sunderland and stoke at least. Plus the 5 extra games they had didn't help.
-

Yep and Dave Whelan sitting in the stands crying again.

I was a bit pissed off with all the cutesy presenters on 5Live etc saying it wasn't fair cos Wigan had to play a few days after the FA Cup final. Any mention of our League Cup games every Tuesday for months? No.
That's the way it is. Get on with it.
Agreed - would have loved it if Sunderland had gone down with the Nazi bloke looking as sick as he did at VP when we shoved 6 up 'em!
UTV!

Its all degrees i guess. I read that chelsea had played something like 57 games this season i think, which is a hell of a lot but then they have near enough two teams so its not the same as say Wigan who are rather like us as in if you get past the first team its a bit threadbare to say the least. I know many on here would kill for an FA Cup win but i'm just glad it wasn't us.
-
I've been debating for the last few days if I would have accepted a Villa FA Cup win if we'd be relegated alongside it. On the one hand, it's a no brainer, but I'm desperate for us to lift it again in my lifetime. I'm not 100% on either side to be honest.

For all the wrong modern football reasons I'm so happy we've stayed up.
Pleased for a "small" club like Wigan that they won what they did, but that's the way it goes. Can't have everything. Unless you're those fu**ers from Old Trafford and the Bridge who just seem to keep doing it! At the moment.
Like you say: they got big squads on squillions - Wigan and us ain't and it's tough.
Can't help feeling that good times are round the corner though!
Ever the optimist!

I've been wondering the same thing. The conclusion I came to was that staying up should take precedence over anything - Villa are a top flight club, we belong up here and should do everything to keep it that way. Besides, we'd be a lot more likely to win the cup in the future with the rescources of a premier league side.
On the other hand, if I was a Wigan fan, i'd take the cup. Every season they had in the top flight they were living on borrowed time, hanging around the relegation places year on year was always going to catch up with them. Better to have the once in a lifetime cup win than spend another season getting whipped week in, week out.

Sums it up perfectly dekko!
-
Match abandoned.
The FA Cup was stolen by chief Wiggum at half-time, and a very pissed off FA awarded us the game 26-0.
-
Our record at their place is good. Martinez - although wanting to play for pride - may try out a few youngsters.
Regarding Wigan and the Cup: brilliant that they won it but over 38 games in the P'ship (and despite beating us comfortably at VP) they ahve fallen short.
I'm glad they've gone down (but would have been ecstatic if the Barcodes or Fascists had gone) because I'm fed up of hearing about plucky Wigan and wonderful Martinez. Simplistically, we won in the league when it mattered; they lost at Highbury and at home to Swansea when it mattered.
-
I'd like to see us applaud them onto the pitch as cup winners and I am sure the 19th minute will be extra special.

They have shipped 70 plus and lost over half their games. The league never lies, FA Cup or otherwise. They're an awful team and have been for 7 years or more, with the inevitable conclusion finally reached.
-
I would imagine most people connected to Wigan would rather not have to play this game. Once you are down you just want to move on and get ready for next season.

it would be great to win the cup but it would be a bit hollow if you got relegated in the same season. You wouldn't enjoy the cup win half as much and the memories of it would be forever tainted by the memories of relegation I'd imagine - just ask a bluenose if they enjoyed winning the cup and going down a coupele of months later!!!

It's different for b-losers though. They expect to be relegated every few years. Aren't they the most relegated and promoted club in history? It's between them and West Ham I think.

Relegation would hurt us a lot more than it would Wigan. They're ground isn't Premier League size for starters. They average about 19k a home game. Whelan has been very careful not to overspend, and always gets top dollar if his stars move on.
We're still in the red right now and a club our size and wage to income revenue would suffer. Then there's no gaurantee that we'd come straight back up.
So the F.A Cup can go chuff itself to be honest. The F.A cup in all honesty has completely lost its magic now. It started on a slippery slope when Fergie took Utd out of it that one year and it's never been the same. It's got to a point that it's getting close to the sort of indifference that the League cup has now. I'd still love any sort of trophy for us now, but nuetrals just don't care anymore.
Cup final day used to be an event. I'd watched everyone up until having to miss one a few years back. Since then I don't think I've bothered.
Even the FA don't give a toss anymore. Shoving the final in whenever they see fit. Having it on a penultimate weekend at 5.15 in the evening is a disgrace. And actually, that may have contributed (not that I'm complaining) some small part in Wigan going down. Having a final to play with two league games left was a distraction they could have done without. FA cup should always be last game of the domestic season.

It was them and Manchester City a few years ago.

Bluenoses say you can never take away their victory over Arsenal to win the cup and they are 100% right (for once). But, even though their ownership was a car crash waiting to happen, they would be so much better off now if they had lost and stayed up. Robbo's comments a few posts ago sum it up for me - "hollow and tainted". They will never be able to separate the memories of beating Arsenal at Wembley and losing at Spurs to go down. A result that could still prove fatal to the club. Offer me 17th place and the FA cup next season and I will take it. 18th and the cup? No!

Even if they'd gone out in the semis or lost in the final then it would still have been a great season for them. They beat us in the quarters after all and that's all that matters.
-
Their finest hour has been so enriching for them. They shunned it for decades, but it has sparked a new interest in the subject of history.
-
Callum McManaman not available on Sunday due to injury according to SSN.
-
0-0 I don't know what all the fuss is about!
-
Either we'll win very comfortably or the lack of pressure will relax us too much. But I'm pretty confident we can win against a tired and dejected Wigan. And we can bring McCarthy back on the coach with us.
-
I think we'll win it but something is telling me it might be a bit of a damp squib 0-1 type affair. 3 points is 3 points is 3 points as they say. I'm now just keen to get this season out of the way and hope everyone involved at the club has a long hard look at themselves and works out how we're going to take this magnificent football club forward.
-
2-0 to Villa
-
Wigan 2-5 Aston Villa
-
It will be like an exhibition game. 6-5 or something. Great atmosphere, applause from us for their cup triumph, applause from them for Stan, Villa and Wigan fans to part the best of friends.
-
Shame they're gone. Always enjoyed the cheap day out and pies that is Wigan
Would have much preferred stoke Sunderland Newcastle or Norwich to go
-
I'd like to see Gary Gardner get 20/30 mins in this match

Exactly why they should go back to staging the FA Cup final after the league campaign is over. Wigan were effectively punished for their success which is wrong.
-
I'd like to see Gary Gardner get 20/30 mins in this match
Wigan's dodgy divot ridden rugby pitch is the last place I'd want to give Gary Garner a run out. Darren Bent has barely strung half a dozen games together without injury since it knobbled him.

Good shout.
If you follow him on twitter, you'll see he's absolutely over the moon to even be back training again.

Cup did for them IMO. They say the table doesn't lie but if they'd been totally concentrated on the league then i think they would have stayed up. Forget us, I'd say they were better than Sunderland and stoke at least. Plus the 5 extra games they had didn't help.
Exactly why they should go back to staging the FA Cup final after the league campaign is over. Wigan were effectively punished for their success which is wrong.
I think it is something to do with the Champions League final being at Wembley this year.

It was the same last year. I think it has been that way since the Champions League final started being held on Saturday.

Some bloke from the FA on Talk Sport has said it will be the last game next season .........

UEFA state they want 2 weeks of no matches on the final pitch before the match is played.

I am genuinely sorry to see Wigan go down as I have a lot of respect for Roberto Martinez and the style in which his team plays.
For the same reason I was delighted for them when they won the cup and hope the Villa players give them a guard of honour.
But we've got to have some fun with: "They won the cup, they're going down..... Wigan won the cup but they're going back down, going back down, going back down."

Love it.

2-1 Villa win...
-
Them 2 us 4
Can't wait to see the lads play with no pressure, think it'll be a really good game. Gabby to take the beast's place or maybe Lambo will give Bowery the chance to get his first premier league goal, either way a stress free weekend for once, thank fu*k!!
UTV!!
-
Pressure's off: 2-1 to us.
Looking forward to this. Just a pity - for me - that over the last two seasons all the Lancashire town clubs have been relegated. It's great when I can go and see the Villa and be home in an hour, and - unlike going to one of the Manchester clubs - have a chance of a win.

That's what I was lead to believe, but there are two play off finals this weekend.
-
I'd be reminding the Wigan fans that were at VP earlier this season of the song "Bobby Martinez, you made the right choice". Maybe he did if it was all about an FA Cup win but I've got a feeling it was about which team was going to be relegated.
-
I get the feeling we could do `em 3 or 4, they`ll be on a downer, FA cups dont keep you in the premiership, as they now know, as for the fabled Martinez, we`re about to find out what he really is made of. As for Wigan themselves, they`re about to embark on a few wilderness years i think.
-
I have the strangest feeling that this game will enjoy the long overdue return of a rare visitor to our claret and blue shores; namely, The Clean Sheet. And we're gonna bang in a few. 0-4. Grown men crying at the end as Stan wanders over, and a love bestowed upon this team the like of which is normally reserved for one's offspring.
It's gonna be fkn ACE!!
-
If we lose tomorrow It will be another unwanted record of most Losses in our Premier League history
-
We will not lose.
-
I've already made the point that Wigan would rather the season just be over so they can concentrate on next season. The only thing worse for them than having another game is having to play another game against us of all clubs.
-
If we lose tomorrow It will be another unwanted record of most Losses in our Premier League history
Which season did we attain the current record? 94-95?

2002-03

Well I have certainly gone through the largest number of brown underpants in any season.

Ah yes. Our away form was awful that season whilst our home form was very good IIRC.
-
3-3 thrilla at the Wigga.
-

Brown at the end of 90 minutes I take it, not at the start

The Wigan team are stopping on the same floor as me at this wedding I am at. I might be a bit loud when I go to bed.

Good. Plenty of disturbance required.
-
Those hotel fire alarms are terribly sensitive at about 3.30 am, I've heard.
-
Watson shook my hand. Their goalkeeper just eyed up my missus. The perve. Wigan players off to bed now.
-
Together?Ur-urrrrrrrrrrr
Its going to be a shit boring 2-0 innit.
-
Why are they in a hotel before a home game? This sort of thing will disappear when the cold wind of the Championship hits Dave's pocket.
-
It'll be the Barnsley Travel Tavern
-

Keep taking the happy pills :)
-
surely you'd get pissed enough to rundown the corridor singing
VVVVVILLLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAA
-
Can't wait for tomorrow. Really looking forward to it.
-
I hope we win. Gabby needs one more goal for double figures in the league. He's 50/1 for the hat-trick so I put £2 on it.

Paper talk seems to suggest it will be "cheerio cheerio cheerioooooh" to
Martinez
Finally, Roberto Martinez has suggested he is ready to leave Wigan and join Everton.
"It will be maybe the right time for a fresh challenge," the boss is quoted as saying in the Daily Star.
"I'll sit down with the chairman once the season is over and decide what's best for Wigan.
"I always felt I would never leave until Wigan Athletic is in a good position for a change of management. I feel now that we need to sit down and look at every detail - but the football club is in an incredible moment."
A master-class in the art of jumping-ship with a positive spin?

Try to put some laxatives in their breakfast.

Good position for a change of management, yes you have just been relegated :)
-
Would be interesting to see how Martinez would do with a better pool of players. Having said that, wasn't that the sort of thing being said when we hired TSM?
-
Out of his depth at Everton. Try Wolves Martinez, your sort of challenge me thinks.
-

No. i think we said fuck off.

Anybody who has menon Facebook, I can say that Shaun Maloney is a top lad.

I've woke up feeling calm and serene this morning, today could have been sooooo different though!

I feel confident we will win 3-1 and finish 12th which would be far better than most could hope for back in February.
-
In Manchester with a contingent of German Villans and just off to Wetherspoons for breakast before getting the train to Wigan. Everyone completely relaxed. If this match had counted for anything the tension would have been unbearable
-
I woke up with a hangover.
-
I still have not woken up !
-
I've woken up, bloody stupid time to be up on a Sunday!
-
: Just as you lose faith in modern football, Villa fans go and create this banner to take to Wigan. Bravo http://t.co/CIaYJCwPP7
-

Ditto
-
Lets win well- finish mid-table and put this season to bed and then all enjoy the summer !
-
The landlord had to choose last night for an epic lock in! Ms rjp is not impressed but as long as I make the train I think she'll forgive me. I have no idea if it's nationwide or just a Leicester thing but Mild May has been brilliant so far (unless you're my liver). I hope everyone behaves today, I'm really looking forward to it. UTV :)
-
If you see Mr Retro wandering around in the vicinity of Wigan today that will be me in my '81 away shirt and '82 trackie top.
And poor Mr Sox has been somewhat forced to agree to a scarf out the window on the drive up.
-
A scarf out of the window should be made a compulsory law for the last day of the season. Even though I was someone who absolutely refused to consider the possibility of anything riding on this last game in relegation terms, I can't help feeling a small sense of anti climax though.
-
So strange to wake up on a matchday feeling calm and relaxed, normally as soon as I open my eyes it's full on anxiety, even managed a lie in till 10.30.
3-0 Villa.
-

That was my thinking, Mr Sox wasn't so keen until I threatened to cry and moan all the way. I think he gave in just to shut me up!
I am so looking forward to today, i'm currently feeling much love for all things Villa.
-
Anybody who has menon Facebook, I can say that Shaun Maloney is a top lad.
What happened?
-
Mr Sox should be here soon. Come on you Lions! Have a good everyone traveling up.

Have a great time Frank, wish I was there!
-
Had a very clear dream last night that we won 4 2 and sylla scored first so had a look at the odds and its 1250/1 got to b worth a quid
-
Hope you boys have a great time. Look forward to seeing all the youtube clips of you drunken arses!
Can't believe I don't want the season to end now :-(
-
Sunny afternoon in the NW enjoy boys!

Well we missed the train and had to get a taxi to Nuneaton, my name is mud and I'm sure I'll spend the summer being reminded of it. I think it'll be worth it though :)

2-1 to Villa
-
In a pub in Wigan. Just heard a rumour that Dave Whelan once broke his leg at Wembley. Can anyone confirm?
-
In his Cup final appearance.
-
He did in a cup final
-
Good luck to everyone going to the game today, got a nice feeling about this one now. Up the Villa!
-
Just heard that Dave Whelan is a complete twunt. Can anyone confirm ?

Sarcasm bell. You'd think it'd be mentioned more

That man is way too modest.

It's nice to go into a game with no pressure at all.

I have heard that mentioned before.
-
Off to the pub, gonna have a party. See you all later for a good drunken ramble.
4-1 Villa. UTV.
-
I'd just like to wish all of you up there a great day out and a safe journey home. Give 'em a shout for me, wish I could be there.

Indeed pwa, whistling away packing my suitcase looking forward to this match with no pressure at all - will be glad to see the back of this season though to be honest.
-
So have we turned Wigan claret and blue?
