Even the thought of this match last season makes me fucking cringe. Whatever the result this time, at least we will have given it a go.
whats a sharm bar?
4-4 As a few years ago. I seem to recall we were 4-1 up with 20 minutes to go in that game.....then super sub Marlon Harewood came on.
Yep it was their 125th birthday party we were 4-1 up and singing "happy birthday to you" :-)4-4 As a few years ago. I seem to recall we were 4-1 up with 20 minutes to go in that game.....then super sub Marlon Harewood came on.
I remember it well!

Sadly they had the last laugh

I've still got the 125th anniversay flags that Spurs put on everyone's seats that night. Still in their plastic covers, unused and never waved in anger
any offers?
It felt like a defeat when they clawed their way back

It certainly did. Similar to the 4-4 against Leicester years ago, an absolute kick in the knackers.

What a game up until that point as well, singing Happy Birthday all through half time was hilarious. The showed continual replays of Robbo messing up for one of our goals as well didn't they?
I hope we stiffen up the defence a bit and sacrifice a striker for the extra bod in midfield.
A midfield 4 caused us a bit of a problem against Albion and the extra 1 up front didn't add much, it is probably too big a risk against this lot.
I'd also persevere with Benteke up front, with Bent coming on as the game demands.
Guzo
Lowton Vlaar Baker Lichaj
Albrighton, KEA, Herd, Holman
Delph
Benteke
Spurs 2 (Defoe, Bent og)
Villa 6 (Vlaar, Benteke 2, KEA, Bent, Defoe og)
On albrighton, I tend to agree. But with Ireland injured, I cant see past Holman for the 'in the hole position' an past albrighton on the right
If we played 4231 perhaps gabby and n'zogbia wide of Holman, but I don't think we will
Can we have less of this talk of spurs being 'one of the big boys' etc! They are Tottingham Hotspurs, barely our equal, and they are just having a purple patch which will eventually end.
2-5 them to go 2 up then Little Brad to save a penalty and then we will run all over them like a virus.
We'll be thraped.

If Heineken did football matches...
A random Spurs fan's opinion from the Glory Glory Spurs forum:Its been our reputation in the press for the past couple of years and people now just presume we get out played every week without having a clue how our games have actually gone. I can't knock it though as its the same reason why I know that Spurs play the football of the gods and Gareth Bale is the best player ever ever.
"I honestly think we'll fucking smash these. They are Blues and have pretty much been outclassed every game this season. Saying that though, that makes me believe it will be a struggle and either be a score draw or we'll just scrape all 3 points.
Would be typical spurs though after beating Man Utd at Old Trafford, we'd go ahead and drop points at home to Aston fucking Villa."
"Outclassed every game this season"? What kind of press do we get in that there London?
EDIT - Nice touch with the swear word filter!

The media are already wanking furiously at the prospect of spurs going up to 3rd this weekend.
It's tomorrow, isn't it?

Have to say, that's actually a fair prediction from Lawro.

I can't believe Lawrenson wrote that. I agree with everything he says. *Lies down in dark room*
Looks like it will be a WM job tomorrow out in the shed

Be interesting to see if lambert reverts to 1 up top and adds an extra midfielder in there. If we can keep a clean sheet first half and then play on the break I think this may be our best approach. Having said that you could argue we should just go at them from the off.

Attack is the best form of defence - spurs are good going forward but susceptible to conceding goals.
For me he should go with 2 up front, and go for the win. Aside from beating Man Utd last week a few of my Spurs supporting mates reckon they have really struggled so far and are more than beatable today.
