Have to applaud the club for this! Excellent way to bring in the new kits and get the fans 'onside' again. A decent managerial appointment between now and then and the place will be rocking! Well done Villa!

My friends band are playing and advertised on the site (soldier).  Very good idea by the club, a shiny new manager on the stage telling us about his plans would be great.

Great idea. And I've been a fan of The Lines since the early days.

As a disgruntled former croupier, there's very little chance of me buying a casino advert, though.

Great initiative.  What would be really good would be to have a new [vibrant] manager in place before then.  Imagine how many more people would turn up if he was to be there.....

I tell you what, we should give the club some real praise for this.
It is a great idea and once again, they show that sometimes they really do know what they are doing.
Well done Villa !

Thanks.

Villa have finalised details of the exciting weekend of activities all focused around the launch of the new 2012-13 kit.

The home and away kit will be unveiled online on Friday June 15 - and then launched in a stunning claret and blue outdoor carnival on both Saturday June 16 and Sunday June 17 at Villa Park.

And the home kit will be available to purchase immediately from the Villa Village Store on site.

If you come down to grab your new shirt over that Father's Day weekend you'll be able to make the most of some great music and fun events.

All of the events start at 10am on both days and finish at 4pm.

Arrow BulletLive music stage - 11 acts over two days
Arrow BulletMini stadium tours and trophy viewings
Arrow BulletHuman demolition wrecking ball
Arrow BulletVelcro wall
Arrow BulletInflatable volleyball court
Arrow BulletTrampolines
Arrow BulletAssault courses
Arrow BulletFootball challenges (starts at 11.30am on Saturday due to soccer schools)
Arrow BulletFunfair activities
Arrow BulletFood court
Arrow BulletMuch, much more

The music element should be electrifying, with a host of up-and-coming bands gracing B6.

We have The Lines, Soldier, Dakota Beats and Paradise Forum to name but a few.

Please note that some of the activities above will involve a small charge. However, any supporter purchasing a shirt over the weekend will be given a wristband which will allow them to enjoy all activities free of charge.

Both stores at Villa Park and the City Centre will be open from 8am to 6pm on the Saturday.

On the Sunday, the Villa Park store will be open between 9am and 4pm and the City Centre store will open an hour later at 10am to 4pm.

There will be free car parking in Aston Events Centre. The Holte End car park will also be available for parking on the Saturday.

And, as if that isn't enough, we will also be showing games from the European Championships on the big screens.

Why not take the whole experience into extra-time too?

Make a day of it on Sunday and bring the whole family along for a great afternoon at our Father's Day family fun lunch.

I was told by a realiable source that, as the festival reaches a climax, our new manager will burst out of a giant cardboard cake wearing our 2012/13 nylon, Macron, claret and blue, £50 fire hazard of a shirt.

I'm a grumpy twat, but I find this US-style razamataz a tad embarrassing

Never heard of any of those bands but they all sound like indie sorts so it's not suprising.
Can't we have Napalm Death, Godflesh, GBH, Cerebral Fix, Benediction and so on?

I want to see Jim White getting smashed about in a pit when SKY report on it.

Great idea, get a buzz going at villa park during the off season. Would be great to introduce the new manager too.

I mentioned it on the other kit threat, I thought it was strange though still having the Nike logo next to the Genting one (I know it's probably to do with them still being out official parterre until a certain date). But since it's to launch a new kit by a different make I thought it was odd to have the email with the Nike logo on

Could not care less about a kit launch. What we need is for faulkner to get finger out and get a manager . Then the manager will have time to sort the team out to play in there new kit.

Doing this doesn't mean he can't do the other, there is more then one facet to the club that has to be catered for.

Somniloquism. point 1, we are a football club not a brand or whatever he calls it now .Its more important to sort out a manager than a kit launch. Point 2. He is the luckest man at villa park to still have a job after his last 2 appointments. Sorry if you dont agree .But all im bothered about is what happens on the pitch.

That or some sort of Punk reunion, with Sham 69 and Ed Banger and the Nosebleeds.  With Sky's very own shouty Max Headroom tribute act running the gauntlet of hate.  And phlegm.  And bottles.

Rebuttal 1. Like it or not, without the business side we won't be a football club and we need to be able to raise money and garner new fans which this is doing.

Rebutttal 2. He might be shit at appointing managers (although Houllier should have been the one transitional season we were going to have) but he has made money for the club, which as I mentioned earlier, entails we can help improve and continue the football side of things.

But the main point I was making is that the marketing and functions team would be planning all this with maybe keeping PF appraised. It is not a case of PF only managing to do one thing at a time and this kit launch weekend causing a delay in appointing a manager. (Although I don't think two weeks into the close season is a massive delay anyway.)

I think it's a good idea and a great chance for Villa to have a family day.
Would love to go and take the kids, except that I live 12,500 miles away and my kids would probably laugh at me for suggesting going (they are 19 and 22 after all). ;D

Can't knock the Club for this, let's just hope the new kit lives up to expectations.

It's my girlfriend's birthday a week today so we're doing something special on the following weekend, so we'll miss the launch as well. It's a shame because she could have had her present there and then instead of having to have it delivered.

If you find the official advertisement of the event, I reckon it is the colour of the lettering of "see the away kit". Green.

My theory.

A friend of mines band from Sedgley/Gornal is headlining the Kit Launch day. They are called 'The Lines' and Al, the lead singer, is a massive Villa fan.

One of their songs can be seen here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvIupxBCcIc)

They are now selling out gigs to over 2500 on their own and have supported Arctic Monkeys, Pete Doherty, Stereophonics and loads more.

To get them to play is a decent coup for Villa, and will be amazing to see them play at Villa Park.

I can remember watching them going back to around 2006/7 time which must have been when they were first starting out, mad to see them playing a headlining show at Wolves Civic.

There's some good bands on the line up Swim Deep are also getting plenty of attention national press wise too.

Should be a good day/s for the kit launch, nice to see plenty of stuff going on, and the villa making a big fuss of it

The band is called Paradise Forum and stars Steve Withe and Pat Heard's daughter (can't remember her name) who is a new recruit.

The Band also stars Rob Mills a friend of our family.  Rob and Steve have been playing in bands together for a long time now.

Paradise Forum are playing at Knowle British Legion soon and I'm sure the poster I saw advertised them as being a cover band.

Going to try and get down VP Sunday to see them.

Rob got Steve to get his dad to sign a 1982 shirt Jon had.  It has been framed and takes pride of place in our dinning room.
