Little worried, I'd say their team looks a little better than ours on paper. Hopefully things will be different on the pitch, but I worry looking at the line-ups.

I predicted us us to lose 2-1 today. I now think we'll win 3-1 but that might have something to do with having a few pints in the lovely march sunshine.

Come on you villa boys

When you see us passing it around like we have on a few occasions in the first ten minutes today, you have to wonder what is going on.  Is that how Amc is asking us to play, or is it the negative, sitting back football.  Is it the players over ruling his instructions.

There just seems to be zero continuity about what we're doing.

Still mustn't grumble, at least we've started well.

We're ripping Fulham a new one.

It's like last week. We've come out very strong and positive but you know beneath it all our confidence is fine china. We have to take advantage because inevitably Fulham will work their way back into this. And they are better than Blackburn

Get over what exactly? There have been about 10 occasions that the wingers have been in a position to cross in half an hour, and he has been behind the centre half every time. He is a good player, but no natural goalscorer. You need movement for that.

I said during GH's time that I wanted to see green shoots of progress. We all thought we caught a glimpse during the Arsenal game but we were wrong. The last two weeks first half displays have been very positive, but we need to capitilize. We have a good team if only we believed more.

We have to find a way to playing to his strength then, rather than tossing it in the box.

It would help Gabby if the 'other' winger tried and attack the far post more often, plus Ireland also needs to try and get into the danger area.  As it is, Gabby often has three defenders around him.  An extra body in there would at least give them someone else to think about.

That's not a criticism of today's Ireland, I think he has been superb, arguably tracking back too much if anything.  He's everywhere.

If we play the way we did first half, attacking the Holte, the place will be rocking.

We completely dominated that, just need to show a bit more creativity and confidence in the final third.

Albrighton delivers a wicked cross but he's lacking a trick or two at the moment.  However we don't really have anyone to replace him.  Do we?

Right let's hope Mcleish doesn't have one of his customary half time disaster team talks.

Last week, I think our midfield ran out of gas. I don't think he told then to go and defend. Coupled with a fragile confidence we witnessed the inevitable.

They did, but then after that you hope he will learn the lesson and change things early if need be.

I think we lack that type of player on the bench to relieve Herd or Petrov. We need a full time replacement for Stan that calms the play and runs all day. Bannan isn't that player. Herd has become the player that breaks up plays and we have nobody else like that. I'm convinced McLeish will address that in the summer.

10-15 minutes more with this side, then Weimann for Albrighton for me. Ireland's not at his best on the right, but he can drift with Gabby pulling wide and Hutton bombing on. Hutton has been very good today, as have Collins and Petrov.

CNZ looks a threat, but he's frustrating isn't he! Gabby looks short of confidence and the quality we know he can produce. Ireland playing well too. I'm not sure we're getting enough men in the box though

And we're fucking awful at corners!!

What can I say. Been lucky enough sitting in Witton End that the ball has not been 30 yards away from goal line all half. We just need to be a bit more ruthless  and precise. If Fulham turn up in the second and manage to sneak something it will be an injustice!

Just like last week first half. We've moved the ball around quickly and there's only been one team playing

No real goal opportunities though.

We do need a midfield runner to get forward into the box when we have the ball on the flanks. Gary Gardner for Petrov when the  energy levels drop - 10 to 15 minutes in.

After 15 minutes I'd put Gardner on for Petrov and Weimann on for Albrighton.
That'll increase/maintain the energy levels.

I'd also like to see Gabby given a bit of a break as we'll need him to be reasonably fresh for future matches.

Tell you what, we are gonna get beaten here. Goal in the last 2 mins.
You sound like you'd like to be proved right.
You think I wan't us to get beat?

When all people do is moan its hard to think otherwise.
Lets face it we have plenty to moan about.
I want AM to be the most successful Villa manager ever.  I want him to lead us out in the final of the Champions League final.
I think he is as negative as he is clueless.

11 points ahead of QPR. With Wolves crashing and burning and QPR's nightmare run in it should be enough to see us safe. We deserved to win and this I hope will give us great hope and belief going forward.

Another drab depressing draw by the look of it..

There's been absolutely nothing drab about this game. A goal would deservedly cap of a very good performance.

Yeah. How many times have we had positiuves from performances, and not won?

Great sub!

You were saying?

Great sub!

Absolutely delighted for Wiemann.

Was willing Gardner's shot to go in, but great to see a striker following up and anticipating the rebound. Not the best finish ever, but they all count.

Did I say I was unhappy, just telling it like it was, being offside.

But happy we got 3 points.

+ Weimann got his first goal
+ We kept Pomegranate quiet
+ Hutton had probably his best game for us
+ Proved we have the determination to nick a game at the end, normally it's the other way round
+ We're almost certainly safe now
+ I feel like we're starting to almost warm to McLeish

We shouldn't get carried away though, Fulham were no great shakes, beat Bolton as well and I'll be over the moon.
