Now plying his trade on the mean streets of Tehran, Iran.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jlloyd_Samuel
He came onto the scene really well (sorry) when DOL was in charge, but then seemed to lose his way.
Probably after that appearance on MTV cribs.
-
A quick bit of research seems to indicate he is the first player from the UK to play in the Iranian Premier League.
Hopefully they get the spelling of his name right. Salman would not look good.
-
I remember having high hopes for him then he really trailed off like so many others.
-
He played in the same side as Ashley Cole when they wee youngsters and was thought to have more ability and potential - they have always been good mates.
JLloyd just didn't want it enough.
-
At the last home game of DOL's reign during the lap of appreciation, JLS was strolling around the pitch with his hands in his pockets behind all the other players with the air of one who just didn't give a fuck.
I gave up my season ticket then and haven't had one since. It's not his fault really but he represented the attitude of most modern footballers and if anything it's got worse.

Didn't everything go a bit pear shaped after he invited the MTV cameras into his home for one of those 'cribs' features ?

I remember that Nev. My take on it though, was that his confidence seemed to be absolutely shattered for most of the season, and if I remember rightly at the time, the fans were making a bit of a scapegoat of him. He got lots of stick, and I felt that it broke him, and in the end and he couldn't handle it. Some players dont have that mental toughness. I thought he was sick of the fans having a go at him, and that was why he kept his hands in his pockets and couldn't give a fuck.

He got booed on that 'lap of honour' didn't he?
-
Was it JLS who used a good portion of his wages charitably?
He was a bit ahead of the trend there I think.
-
Lazy lazy player. I think it was his poor pass back that let in Blues for their second goal in the 2003 0-2 home defeat.
-
Didn't rate him at all. I was astonished when he was once named in an England squad.
-
He played very well in 03/04. Was crap there after.
-
Never rated him at all, lazy player.
-
Crap..

Cringeworthy. Wasn't his crib called something like "Park Villa"?
A guided tour of his tacky house, complete with his comprehensive collection of shitty baseball caps. Not an England cap anywhere to be seen
And he had a bar in his snooker room called "sweetboys" which is his nickname (I think?)
You can't buy style like that

really? fair play to him, if true.
-
I think he called himself "sweet boy", sums up modern day footballers really.
