That Bolton side is still pretty decent.

Optimistic of a Villa win though.

No one to go the Villa with, my usual lot are either working or on holiday. Dad can't be arsed and girlfriend is busy. Didn't fancy it alone so it's a night on here for me.

We should have a way of meeting up with people in similar situations that fancy going but not got anyone to go with.

Can we conclude from this that AM will only ever start a game with one winger? Nzog or Marc.

(Although they both finished the Newcastle game, on the wrong wings cutting into midfield traffic to lose the ball.)

Yeh IIRC even Arsenal/Man Utd/Liverpool don't have streams for the early Carling Cup games unless it's televised. Don't thing they have the rights across the world.

I haven't been on here for some time. Does General Krulak still post on here?

Naw he's done a runner.

Shame would've been interested to read his thoughts are on Randys last 14 months of running the club. Ireland should be put down, he deserves little more. How many fucking chances does he want? Useless ******.

Maybe because the squad is so appallingly weak?

There's no use in having players if you don't use the right tactics to get the best out of them, especially young ones who don't know the game. Our youngsters are good when in possession, but we don't play possession football or a formation which would help them do so, so there's no point.

It's so glaringly obvious now why he left. I am not too proud to admit I got that badly badly wrong at the time. I was anti O'Neill for about a year before he left and considered him the devil incarnate for walking when he did.

Now I believe the tension was there for a year but he stuck it out. I think he left when he did, not to do us maximum damage, but because something absolutely awful must have happened (being given Stephen Ireland for a start).

He's a mediocre manager, whose teams play dull football and shouldn't have been good enough for us.

McLeish out.

You beat me to it

The bloke is a c***

He went for a top job and got it. Stop shooting the fucking messenger. He's a decent bloke.

If you have a problem with him, point the finger at the people who appointed him so that they'd have somebody to blame for us turning shite when we sold our best players and didn't replace them.

I point the finger at people who said ' Imagine Mcleish if he was backed with money '

Yeah we didn't hear much from The General after that comment, he clearly knew what was on the horizon and fucked off before having to face the flak on here.

McLeish still has a playing staff capable of beating Bolton Reserves.  And the opening fixture list was so good, he could have drawn it himself.

He's a mediocre manager, whose teams play dull football and shouldn't have been good enough for us.

He does one thing and one thing only, and that thing is not attack.

He picked a light weight midfield,  he sets out the tactics,  he motivates the team.

We were a great football club once. We are just a shell of that at the moment. Not heart and soul.

The heart and soul of aston villa was ripped out over the past 12 months.

Well just the FA Cup to focus on now, it's going to be a long season and we are in Mid September!

i fear we have much more important things to focus on apart from the FA Cup....

Horrible isn't it. The fast decline is frightening. Randy and co's heart is in the right place but AM was never going to get much slack. The fans revolt will begin in earnest after tonight.

Is it though, or has just give up

And me. I just don't feel that upset tonight. Just numb like I have done so far this season.

It was always a worrying niggle in the back of my mind that we'd end up like the Cleveland Browns. I admit to choosing to ignore it...
