Anybody else watching?
Good fight so far.
-
Thanks for that ref.
That stoppage is like being caught throwing one out midstroke.
-
I think the techical term is 'bullshit stoppage.'
-
Smith v Selby fight turning into a good un.
-
Certainly is.
-
Oh my god hope he is alright.
-
He looks okay fortunately.
-
Smith looked like he struggled to make the weight.
-
Title changed thought it needed a thread of it's own.
-
Fair play to Paul Smith all things considered.
-
Brother number 3 coming up.
-
This one seems recorded.
-
Indeed, the result's on boxrec.
-
Good finish.Bit of a wait now the the Money fight.
-
There was some serious blood in the Matthews-Hall fight.

1st night I suppose. The coverage so far has been very good.
-
DeGale to lose in the ninth.
-
DeGale's starting to look a bit more like it now.
-
He can't take to many more of those right hands.
-
DeGale's starting to look good now.
-
Looks like DeGale has ridden out the storm, not a great performance but he'll take the win here.
-
He needs at least another 4-5 fights before he steps up to world class.
-
I don't think he's got it tbh, Groves showed him up and this guy tonight has exposed him a few times.
-
Decent fight that, I had it De Gale by two rounds.
At least it shows he has a chin.
-
He still looks like a playground fighter at times.
He still needs a lot of work.
-
See, by two rounds, I know my boxing!
-
Hmmmm, that was close.
-
Did one of the judges give a draw?
-
Did one of the judges give a draw?
Yep.
-
It's only his twelfth fight, that's a great result, he still looks a bit raw but he has showed that he can mix it and take a punch or two.
-
Didn't realise the Pole was ranked #2 in the world. :o
-
Cant stand Cleverley I hope Bellew spanks him.
-
My 3 pound has gone on Cleverley in 6.
-
Bellew is running this fight so far.
-
Bellew's looking pretty good so far.
-
Bellew is running this fight so far.
Yeah Bellew is working really well at the moment, i hope he carries it on.
-
There fondling each others cocks for the mostpart
-
Good fight this. Think Cleverly is going to step it up from here on in.
-
That was a great round of boxing.
-
Good round that, wonder how much Bellew has left.
-
Level after 8 rounds?
-
Someone's 0 has gotta go (unless it's a draw)
-
I've got a feeling we have a hometown decision coming.
-
credit to Cleverley to that shot well!
-
Big hit there, Cleverly took it well.
-
I've got a feeling we have a hometown decision coming.
Or a promoter's decision.
-
I've got a feeling we have a hometown decision coming.
Or a promoter's decision.
We shall see.
-
Either way, someone will reckon they got robbed.
-
Enjoyed that, Bellew fought well but I'd give it Cleverly just.
-
That was a very good draw.
-
I've got it 114-114.
-
5 rounds screw me.
-
117-112 is harsh.
-
Dave fucking Parris strikes again.
-
Dave fucking Parris strikes again.
How much longer is he gonna get away with it.
-
It's not just him. Nearly every week there's a stupid decision.
-
It's not often you can agree on all 3 cards. There's usually at least one weird one.
-
And it's nearly always Dave Parris. He'd have given us a draw today.
-
Stream for Rob Norton tonight:

Fuck me the ring is bigger than my house!
-
I bet Boxnation never, ever show last night's fight again.

I bet Boxnation never, ever show last night's fight again.
I only caught the last 3 rounds, was it that bent?
-
I bet Boxnation never, ever show last night's fight again.
I only caught the last 3 rounds, was it that bent?
It was possibly the worst fight ever, but it was also downright robbery. The fact that the winner had apparently been backed down from 5/1 to 7/4 in the days before is purely coincidental.
-
Now that was a punch.
-
Seems all is not well in the Frankie Gavin camp:
http://www.boxingnewsonline.net/bn08/detail.asp?id=2618
-
Things have always been iffy in Frankie Gavin camps ever since he couldn't get into the required shape for the 08 Olympics.
-
Good start to Prizefighter tonight.
-
That Choi's one mean mo'.
-
I would love to see Prizefighter in Brum. It's look's a top night out.

Never recovered from the Benn fight at the NEC when there was flying chairs.
-
Or MacAlinden v Bodell at Villa Park when the ring collapsed. In truth though, it's not a boxing city.
-
Choi really bullied Roberts in the final.

Couple of good fights on Boxnation tonight.

And sad news:

-
It's not a classic but Burns is doing well.
-
Yeah if he could pull this off, it'd be a terrific result for him.
-
Good fight.
-
That really puts Burns on the map.
-
Big win for Burns.
-
Well I'm surprised by that one for Groves.
-
That was impressive.
-
It really was, I wasn't expecting that at all. It's more the way he finished it.

Interesting Tyson Fury interview, http://m.guardian.co.uk/sport/2011/nov/05/tyson-fury-interview?cat=sport&type=article
-
The British Championships are on BBC1 now.
-
Gary Newbon is presenting the boxing on Sky.WTF.
-
No pressure on Eubank jr with that ringwalk...
-
Young Eubank looked pretty damn impressive.Looks like a pretty good all round
athlete unlike Tyson Fury who looks like he needs to shed a few stone.
Worst minutes silence ever for one of the great all time warriors..
RIP Smoking.
-
Your right Tyson looks fucked already.
-
He looks terrified of getting hit,Fury flinching instead of slipping the punches.
For his own sake he should not fight anywhere near world class he will get
murdered.
-
With his punching power he will always have a chance at world level.
But my god he needs to get a decent trainer.
-
Think he found his level.
Looking forward to the best pound for pound fighter later.
-
Beer until 4 o'clock life doesn't get much better.

Awful decision in the Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez fight.
I thought that Marquez had won by 3 or 4 rounds.
-
Awful decision in the Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez fight.
I thought that Marquez had won by 3 or 4 rounds.
I had him by 2 rounds. How one of the judges saw it by 4 rounds to Pacquiao is anyones guess.
-
Agreee. Marquez by 3-4 rounds.
-
Sounds like a bad decision.
-
I make it 2-1 to Marquez.Unless he knocks his block off he will never get a decision against Pac man.
-
Pacman looked like he knew he had been well beaten at the end.
Farcical decision which taints an already tainted sport.

This is a cracking fight.
-
What time is Khan on our time?
-
Sounds like he was mugged.
-
Sounds like he was mugged.
Not really. I had Khan down as winning 114-113, but quite a few of the rounds were highly subjective. Judges in America tend to favour aggression and Peterson was constantly coming forward,
The first point deduction was unfortunate, but the second one, in the 12th round was sheer stupidity on Khan's part.
Khan will win the rematch, as he's the better boxer, and Roach will not allow him to become embroiled in Peterson's type of fight again.
Fantastic fight though.
-
Khan needs to leave Golden Boy.
-
Just watched the fight. I had Khan losing by a point with the deductions. Trouble is regardless of the deductions you don't win a fight boxing the whole thing on the back foot.
Good fight though.
-

I had Peterson 3 rounds ahead.
-
Very good 6 rounder to get us started.
Come on Kell Brook.
-
Thanks; I'd forgotten he was fighting.
-
Kell looking good, a couple more good punches and the ref will stop this.
-
In Britain it would have been stopped already.
-
Good stoppage by the ref.Kell looked good.
-
Kahn isn't bitter much oh no.
-
Khan's doing himself no favours.
-
Oh dear what a knob.
-
Pisspoor referring in this fight, bloke was all over the place and had lost his gumshield yet the referee waved it on.
-
Not good. He could have got hurt there.
-
Not loking good for Froch.
-
Every round to Ward so far.
-
Had a snooze earlier, what did Khan say?
-
Had a snooze earlier, what did Khan say?
In a round about way he was saying Kell Brook isn't very good.

Looks like Amir Khan's camp have a case:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012/jan/05/amir-khan-tweets-lamont-peterson?newsfeed=true
Here's the video. Looks a bit dodgy to me.
-
Something just doesn't add up (pun intended).
-
http://lockerz.com/s/172065810
This picture shows the "mystery man" with Lamont Petersons camp just after the fight.
I'm starting to think that there is way too much that just doesn't fit with this. The controversy over the docked points, the fact Khan was told he'd won, the ridiculous amount of time it took to collate the judges scorecards, the going missing of a scorecard which mysteriously showed up a couple of days later and now this unidentified bloke who has broken the rules of no one interacting with judges or officials during a fight, and is seen handling at least two pieces of paper, which are different colours, making it highly likely they are judges scorecards. (Each judge has a different colour scorecard)
I'm sure a "reasonable explanation" will be offered (concocted) as to why he was there and did what he did.
I'd go as far as saying that the result of the fight should be quashed and an immediate rematch ordered. I personally had Khan winning the fight by a round, but it was highly subjective and could see why certain rounds were scored to peterson.
However, too much of this just stinks.
-
Khan should just move on.He was always on a loser when he got into bed with Golden Boy.
-
Looks like Khan is getting a rematch: Amir Khan's promoters claim WBA has ordered Lamont Peterson rematch (http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012/jan/07/amir-khan-mystery-man-rematch)

Percy must be doing the music in Prizefighter. Between the bouts so far we've had the Who, Blur & the Style Council.
-
how many rounds do you think Chisora will go before he gets put on his arse ?
3 if he's lucky
-
Idiot.
-
Assuming that's the Chisora slap (Youtube banned at work), fancy making Klitschko even more angry!
-
even his own coaching and managment team thought he was a prat, and the promoter
-
Chisora is very foolish doing that.
-
Chisora will get his arse handed to him on a plate.
-
I see it is on "Boxnation". Is it free to Sky subscibers or is it pay-per-view?

God these pair are shit. Come back Audley, all is forgiven.
-
Audley's fighting again in April.
-
What weight class is this fight?!
-
Boxnation just tweeted the fight is free to air as problems with subscription
-
Bitching about the hand wrapping after they've had a meeting to agree things like that is a bit pathetic. Comes across as a bit cheap considering how big a favourite klitschko is.
-
All designed to get into chisora's head, though don't think they need to,should be a stroll for klitschko.
-
Boxnation just tweeted the fight is free to air as problems with subscription
Result, wondered why I was still getting pictures,
Unfortunately there's some bird with a piano in the ring at the moment
-
I didn't think much of the song but I think setting fire to the piano was a bit over the top.
-
We win the Battle of the Anthems.
-
Fucking Man U shirt? Right, come on Klitschko.
-
From London, England and wearing a Manchester United top the glory hunting twat.
-
That Chisora is an absolute wanker I hope he gets battered spitting water at Klitschko's brother now.
-
Chisora is doing better than I thought he would, still think he'l lose though
-
Klitschko looks knackered.
-
Chisora would have won a lot of respect for himself tonight if it wasn't for all that twatting around he did in the lead up to the fight
-
And after.
-
decent fight, A better boxer than Chisora using than gameplan would've won easily I think, quite why people haven't targeted the ribs of the Klitschko's in the past is beyond me, they're both quite tall and thin (for heavyweight boxers) it seems an obvious target and even if you don't knock them down with those shots hitting a guy in the body enough just takes all the power out of their shots, at which point you can, as Chisora did, dictate the fight more and push them backwards.
-
That was actually a good performance by Chisora, much better than I expected.
-
Suprised by Chisora ...much improved from his fight against Tyson Fury
-
Fucking Man U shirt? Right, come on Klitschko.
Exactly, didn't like the slap, but seeing him in that fucking red dress made me want a Klitschko win
-
It's interesting that must motivate Haye to get that fight made now.
-
I love that klitschko specifically mentioned the body punches in the interview saying they didn't hurt. I'm afraid his body language in the ring rather contradicted that. I just hope other people have been paying attention, the heavyweight division really needs better boxers than the klitschkos at the top. It's lost all it's appeal since Lewis retired because the pair of them have dominated it by slowing things down and tiring people out for late knockouts with big hits. Once they're gone hopefully the quality of fighting will improve. That all the big money has moved away from the weight says it all really.
-
They have made the best of their size advantage to dominate the division but I don't think either are great boxers.
-
If that wasn't enough for the idiot he then had a fight with Haye at the press conference:-
http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012/feb/19/david-haye-dereck-chisora-brawl (http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012/feb/19/david-haye-dereck-chisora-brawl)
-
what a shambles,
what was Haye there for anyway, getting involved, he had his crack and failed, just another load of self promotion, he would be better shutting up a bit and waiting to prove us all wrong in the ring, if he ever gets back in.
as for Chisora, when he's interviewed he comes over quite articulate for a boxer, but makes up for it with his childish antics elsewhere,
for his fight last night alone he deserves another crack, but he's lost a lot of friends over the last couple of days
edit -just heard that Chisora said he was going to shoot Haye, could lose his licence for that
-

Bloody hell that brawl was ridiculous.
-
You can see here at 3m26s the bottle beinmg smashed on his head. Ridiculous.
-
I thought this was boxing, not wrestling. Are beer bottles now made from sugar glass?
-
Looks like boxing has a "fixing" problem to deal with
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-17088977
How can deliberately extending a fight to allow friends and family to benefit from betting not be "illegal".
-

Looked like the whole thing was staged to me.
Haye now to apply for his licence - take a short ban - fight Chisora, then on to Klitschko

i think Haye is still gone missing, maybe he did get shot ?

There's a difference between predicting and fixing.
In the latest interview, Froch appeared to openly admit that he prolonged fights so that people he knew could gain financially.
-
That "brawl" was pathetic. What a complete embarrasment that pair of tossers are.
-
That brawl was so stupid what was they thinking to do that while the whole world was watching it gives the sport of Boxing a bad name.

Tonight's thread:

Good performance from Nathan Cleverly. Not spectacular but he easily outclassed his opponent.
-
He should have had this bloke out in three rounds. He hasn't fought for over a year.
-
He didn't look like he is ready for the top guys, but a solid display.
-
Stream for tonight:

Should be a good couple of fights tonight.
-
Brook and Martinez to win I imagine.
-
Apparently the boxer Macklin who is on later is a Brummie. Anyone know if he's One Of Us?
-
Macklin is a nose.
-
I shall shortly be heading off to Wolverhampton Civic Hall for the Maccarinelli fight. Anyone else going, or watching later?
-
Very good card so far.
-
What a bonkers fight so far!
-
What else can happen in this fight?....Ref having a mare.
-
Well, that was interesting.
-
Kirkland v Molina was a shambles from start to finish.
-
Very good performance from Fury.
-
Very good performance from Fury.
Hard to believe! Hate the boy.

Hard to believe! Hate the boy.
Why? He always comes across as decent and respectful.
-
Impressive enough performance from Bellew there.
-
Better diver than Ashley Young there.
-
That was quick.
-
Floyd Mayweather, Wow. Undisputed great.
-
What a one sided win for Floyd.
I was really hoping Cotto would show up (well, me and everyone else I guess).
I think Floyd Mayweather is one of the most un-likeable people on the planet.
-
So Haye vs Chisora in London sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Authority. You want to sum up where boxing is going wrong, that sums it up quite nicely.

Not really. I had Khan down as winning 114-113, but quite a few of the rounds were highly subjective. Judges in America tend to favour aggression and Peterson was constantly coming forward
And now we know why, Lamont Peterson, stripped of the titles he took from Khan last December when doped up on a testosterone pellet embedded in his hip (http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012/may/10/amir-khan-lamont-peterson-cancelled).

Kid Galahad looks sharp early on here
-
Kid Galahad looks sharp early on here
Looks good, like his movement and hand speed.Reminds me of Naseem Hamed.
-
Still in control but slowed down a bit, Wale has done well to stay in this far and now looks as though he might have a punchers chance
-
Still in control but slowed down a bit, Wale has done well to stay in this far and now looks as though he might have a punchers chance
Too static and moving forward in straight lines so just being picked apart.
-
Kid Galahad's guard is non existent, he will win this fight but against a world class fighter I think he will be vunerable.
-
The fight will probably be stopped, Galahad doesn't seem to have the power for a knockout punch
-
Eubank jr sure has his dads nose.
-
Channel 5 seem to have a good couple of young British fighters in Eubank Jr and Kid Gallahad (Barry).Shame they consider Tyson Fury to be "the star of Channel 5 boxing",still chuckling about that little mention from the commentator.
-
I've never seen Bute fight, what does everyone think will be the outcome tonigt?
I hope it's going to be a Froch classic.
-

I hope it's going to be a Froch classic.
Brute on points I'm afraid.Froch has had too many hard fights and seems to have lost the ability to move his head.
-
Sounds like Audley Harrison's not doing too well.
-
Forget what I just said. Won TKO 4.
-
I have a horrible feeling Froch is going to get stopped.
-
Great support for Froch.
-
Anyone got a stream?
-
|Ignore that, found one.
-
What a round from Froch.
-
Froch is doing really well.
-
Fantastic Froch.What a win.
-
Great win. Bute has had a lot of fights at home and has not always looked that good but I still thought that it would be a tough test for Froch.
-
I have a horrible feeling Froch is going to get stopped.
Nostradamus, me.
-
Now that was very fucking impressive.
-
Wow,
couldnt post while the fight was on to much going on, one of the best fights i've seen for a long while,
Froch was unbelievable tonight,
i didnt think he was going to do it, the Ukrainian/Canadian was rock hard, cant believe he took such punishment and stayed on his feet,
absolutley buzzing after that
-
I have a horrible feeling Froch is going to get stopped.
Nostradamus, me.
Well he was stopped from dishing out any more punishment
-
Who will fight Froch in Nottingham after that?
-
Great performance, it will be interesting to see if there is the talked about rematch. I don't think Bute would want any more of that but there have been some decidedly dodgy score cards in Canada.
-
The end of Ryan Rhodes I hope.
-
There can't be a sadder sight in any sport than a veteran warrior getting taken apart by a younger boxer who wouldn't have been in the same class years before.
-
There can't be a sadder sight in any sport than a veteran warrior getting taken apart by a younger boxer who wouldn't have been in the same class years before.
Too true.
-
And that was one of the worst cuts I've seen for a while.
-
12 months off with that.
What a strange fight the Towers fight is.
-
What was all that about.
European refs are shit.
-
Weird, weird, weird.
I also wouldn't be surprised if Rendell munroe doesn't box again.
-
Ray Jones Jr taking a beating in Poland.Another one going on too long.
-
He won I think, but should have retired long ago.
-
He won I think, but should have retired long ago.
Another great day for boxing.
Roy Jones vs. Pawel Glazewski
Jones was supposed to face Dawid Kostecki in a ten round bout at Atlas Arena, Poland on June 30th. Days before the fight, Kostecki was convicted of being the ringleader of a criminal organization and was thrown in jail.[21] Pawel Glazewski stepped in to fight Jones. Jones defeated the 17-0 Glazewski by split decision. Jones was knocked down in round six. Many felt Glazewski deserved the decision in a close fight.[22] Polish TV scored the fight 97-94 for Glazewski.
I gave it to Glazewski by five.
-
Great domestic fight to start tonight.5 cards to watch tonight.
-
Two great fights on Sky. I can't see Fury being that good, somehow.
-
The twin brought out a great right to take out Thompson.Fury wouldn't last a round a this stage.Well done to Brooke by the way.
-
My man Nonito Donaire won last night as well...
-
Trying to think where to watch the Haye Chisora fight, when I get back from Burton.
So far Moseley has been suggested, the Village have it on?
-
i reckon Chisora might win tonight,
i see Haye is the overwhelming favourite with the bookies, but Chisora wasnt knocked out by Klitchco and Haye was, also Haye retired and Chisora is still trying to take his career forward. there is also a big difference in weight which can have a big effect.
Haye is definitely the better boxer more class but the longer the fight goes on the more i cant see Haye knocking Chisora out
Chisora to win for me, mainly because i have money on him
-
Haye of 2010 would win easily, Haye in 2012 is an unknown really, at his best he's was streets ahead of Chisora.
I think the wieght actually indicates things the other way, Haye was good because he was quick for his size, getting himself lighter might work in his favour to keep his speed up.
-
Haye is a different class to Chisora, provided he's right in the head.

I think he is, he's barely retired and was definitely a world class fighter. Chisora never has been.

Chisora wasnt knocked out by Klitchco and Haye was
No he wasn't.

Different Klit.
-
And different class.
-
couldnt watch it just listened on the radio, sounded pretty convincing
-
And different class.
Haye done a job.A very good job.
-
the first knockdown was fantastic, Haye at his very very best. Left had him out, then the right was as clean as can be. 2nd knockdown was inevitable, Chisora could barely stand up.
-
radio saying they are now bestest mates
-
Haye looked very strong for the first time. Most of done loads of gym work.
-
Haye looked like he was the right weight, looked too heavy in his last couple of fights, remember, he's not a natural heavyweight, it's too easy for boxers to step up and put on upper body weight but it slows you down.
-
Ok next up Khan to win on points, just.

thanks, dont think i'l bother then

4am apparently. As long as Khan uses his speed and fights on the outside he'll win easily. He does seem to get a red mist though that makes him want to slug it out and Swift's left hook is pretty heavy.

That's the problem with Khan,he never fights his own fight. It will get messy tonight.

He had been better his last few fights before peterson, but he didn't seem 'right' in that one. He has a great coach and working with Manny has helped him massively in learning to use his feet and use his hand speed (he's one of the quickest boxers I've ever seen when he gets the combos right). If he can keep Garcia at range and step in, pick him off and step out he'll destroy him.

Well, the pointless fight was won by the one who was always going to win. How the fuck has Chisora managed to have a career where he's made loads of money? Says a lot about the British heavyweight scene since Lewis retired.
Right, proper boxing - Khan in seven.

True.
absolutely, that's why Haye blowing it against klitschko was so disappointing, if he'd won we might have seen a move away from the very defensive midset in the division currently. They've done what the williams sisters have done in tennis, found a niche that they can excel in (they have great chins, are very strong and have great stamina, so they go into fights knowing they can do just enough each round to get it on points by landing a couple of big hits), the problem being that they've done such a good job that there's a great danger of it becoming the model of how to win at that level.
As for how Chisora has made a career as a boxer, read the above, he lasts 12 rounds easily, has a chin made of granite and is strong enough that he can overpower all but the best. Against Klitschko he did well because he fights like they do. Against Haye tonight he was shown up by a boxer whose technique is light years ahead. Chisora landed a few big hits tonight (one of which was well after the bell) but it was like he was swinging hammers, Haye boxed clean and crisp and just picked Chisora's defense apart. What Haye did tonight is what he should've done against Wladimir, but instead he tried to bulk up and match him for power, and sacrificed his speed to do it, which ruined him.
-
Khan had this coming. This is boxing and a you always know that there is a younger hungrier man round the corner ready to take your place. Khan has been complacent and believed in his own celeb status too much. Time to retire I think.
-
It's too early to retire but it will take a lot to bounce back now.
-
Just seen the Khan fight, boxed really well for first two rounds but the chin as ever extremely suspect.
-
I stayed up to watch it last night I thought he did really well for two rounds but got caught again he just can't take a punch. I don't know where he'll go from here it's a long way back.
-
Thing is because of his punching power there is a way back. his jaw is poor but with more experience maybe he'll learn.
-
There is a way back, but his last three fights have raised questions over his training camp for me. Firstly Freddie Roach doesn't appear to give him full attention, and also the tactics seemed off. He ends up standing and trading which doesn't suit him at all. His poor chin means he should always be on the move, and box like he did in the first two rounds last night. He needs a long look at what he's doing, as he does have a lot of talent.
-
I was shocked that Garcia won, and not taking anything away from Garcia because I think he's a talented fighter, but really it was one great punch. That one punch (the first knock down) changed the entire match. And I guess Khan should have been ready of it, but these things sometimes happen. Khan was never able to regain his composure after that knockdown and it was all down hill from there.
If that punch hadn't happened, and the fight kept going how it had been, I think Khan wins it. It wasn't Khan's fault in that he did something wrong, but it was a one huge punch kind of fight.
-
I think he did do something wrong, he was standing and trading when he got hit and he didn't need to be in that position.
-
Khan has never been as good as he thinks he is.Got the fight wrong from the start last night.Having a glass chin becomes more of problem the older you get.He is not world class and never as been.
-
Khan has never been as good as he thinks he is.Got the fight wrong from the start last night.Having a glass chin becomes more of problem the older you get.He is not world class and never as been.
I agree I have never been that impressed with him to be honest. Khan got warnings from Garcia in the first two rounds but never learnt from it. I just can't see where he will go from here.
-
I think there are aspects of his boxing that are world class and aspects that aren't. I think it's harsh to say he hasn't been world class, as he has been world champion. However his limitations mean he can't slug it out with people and in the last few fights he's been doing that.
-
I thought that he would have been smart enough to stay on the outside, he decided to trade and got caught.
He hasn't looked as polished in his last few fights and always seemed to be looking ahead to move up to 147lbs and the big money fights.
-

Yeah I agree I think his focus has been wrong, but I maintain that Freddie Roach doesn't look focused on Khan at all and I think something needs to change.
-

147lbs with his chin.I would fear for is safety.
-
Until Khan sticks to using his speed and boxing ability, rather than getting getting into a tear up, he will never achieve what he wants to.
He can come back from it but its a long road from here.
-
Khan can't take a decent punch, for all his speed he will always get found out against the bigger punchers.
-

i wonder how many amateur boxers at the olympics will now turn pro,
i suppose it all depends on the contracts they are offered from the promoters,
Joshua is probably the most high profile and was yesterday saying he was still an amateur, to be honest i think he needs to lean a bit more before turning pro, he was a bit lucky in the final, didnt do enough for me in the first two rounds, i think he would be found out pretty quickly if he was given the wrong bout early on

Anyone who thinks British judges are dodgy should remember who are the undisputed kings of hometown decisions.

Good fight so far.

Lose the sunglasses dickhead.

The older Klitschko thumbing his way to the title again.
-
Ricky Hatton's called a press conference for Friday. I can't imagine what he'll be announcing.
-
Oh dear.
-
2 fights 1 against a bum and 1 against Khan.
He should leave well alone.
-
Certainly should.
-
Witter may be the one, rather than Khan; or maybe one then the other.
-
Nah, he wants to fight Flintoff!
-
Hatton's dad should fight Flintoff.
-
Steve Bunce is starting to get on my nerves.
-
Another home town German win.
Why would anybody fight there?
-
I'm usually to tipping what Legion is to buying raffle tickets, but Ricky Burns at 8/13 looks amazingly good odds tonight.

The wet lettuce to lose in 2 rounds, and I hope never to dirty a ring again.
Wouldn't it be great if he finally did decide to fight how he's capable of?
And has the cruiserweight division over the past couple of years provided the worst series of British title fights ever?
-
Agree on both counts. The crowd are making their own fight.
-
It's karma for the way they stitched up Rob Norton against Leon Williams.

Any odds on the ringwalks lasting longer than the fight?

Was that the fight you were referring to? Oh.

DeGale fight looks like it might get interesting.

He looks far too open, same could be a top fighter but until he gets someone to show him some defence this is his level.

This is a lot harder for DeGale now.

This is a lot harder for DeGale now.
A lot harder than it needs to be.

Oh dear Tyson.

Very classy Tyson.
-
Bloody good fight.

Got it level.

I made it 115-114 DeGale.
-
Just about DeGale.

Got it level.
Which means he wins by 7.

That was ludicrous scoring.

It was never that wide a margin.

Good performance from Brook, it will be interesting to see how he gets on against a decent opponent once he is out of his own back yard.

BBBC would never let it happen.Luxemburg boxing federation would.
-
God almighty I hope that doesn't happen.
-
He might be one of the other lot, but fair play to Frankie Gavin for winning the British title last night.
And in complete contrast, the thoughts of a 'comedian' who's never entered the ring in his life, on someone who risks serious injury or worse every time he goes to work.
-
Reading the article though it seems very unlikely that McGuigan would allow such a thing to happen as Flintoff getting in the ring with a seasoned professional.

The very definition of damning with faint praise.

"I refuse to use the word ‘fight’ as Audley has never effectively taken part in one"

Indeed. What sort of society are we living in that people make such things up for amusement. It beggers belief.

Ward @ the City ground next summer would be a laugh.

Ward is quality, but I don't think anybody would fancy fighting Froch in Nottingham.
-
Froch was a level above that guy last night.

Good performance from Quigg and there's a fucking drum in the arena.

Not far from home. What time does this Hattoon lark start or have I missed it?

dont want to see him box again ever. the guy is done.
the tv really wanted ricky v khan (and thats what it is all about -money)
if ricky won tonight then the pressure was on Khans people to agree to this fight - thankfully that didnt happen and hopefully ricky hasnt got too badly hurt tonight

He's announced his retirement, thankfully.

He has quit according to the BBC

It had to happen.

I'm hoping that now he's come back and realised he can't do it he can find some peace.
-
Flintoff is the outsider to win tonight but favourite to win inside the distance. I think that says everything you need to know about the public perception of this fight.
-
Good fight just been on.I can't wait for the circus later I really can't.
-
This next one might be a corker as well.

This next one might be a corker as well.

Since when do they have standing eight counts?

Where did Dawson train Burger King?

That was the worst fight I have ever seen.

Joke.

That was hilarious! The american guy looked like a fat guy dragged off the street and put in gloves, told have a fight with him over there.
-
I take it he lost then
-
No he won
-
Wow i wish i had box nation now! Sounds a thriller!
-
It was something.
David Price is bloody massive!
-
That was like watching the 2 nerds in school having a fight. On one hand fair play to him for wanting to train to do that, but on the other he was awful & should call it quits now.
-
I would never, ever criticise anyone who has the balls to get into the ring even to spar, but God knows what those two who Dawson's beaten must be like.

The Flintoff windmill is something I don't want to see in a professional boxing arena again. I think he thought he was bowling in the Ashes.
As for David Price, I want to see him take a decent shot. If his chin is good, he's going all the way Whoever this top ranked American is for his next fight, I hope he is a proper test.
-
Tony Thompson seems to be next on the list.

As for David Price, I want to see him take a decent shot. If his chin is good, he's going all the way Whoever this top ranked American is for his next fight, I hope he is a proper test.
Tony Thompson 41 and blows through his arse after 6 rounds, but it is a step up.
-
Just watched the Flintoff fight. Yeah that Dawson bloke wasn't up to much, but fair play to Flintoff. He got himself into great shape.
-
The before and after shots of Flintoff were mightily impressive.
-
Will the BBBoC let Eubank Jr fight twice in a week?
-
There's no rules against it. Pete Buckley would have fought twice a day if he could.

Are Hennesey sports struggling to get shows on?

There are some idiots in this crowd.

He does have some strange hangers on.

Anyone see the Steve Williams - Kirk Goodings fight on the Price - Skelton under card? Great fight.

Regarding David Price - it seems that Thompson, Chisora then a Klitschsko could be on the cards for 2013 (presuming he comes through each one victorious). He seems a decent lad to be fair and I hope he goes on to make his mark in the heavyweight division.
-
I finally saw this Flintoff lark the other day. He fights like my 2 year old. Tough, but full of windmills!
-
Can't see McGee lasting 12 rounds.
-
Kal Yafai up first.I like the look of this kid,and a step up.
-
Kai looked good again.
-
This is an old school tear up.
-
Anybody staying up for fight #5.
-
Good finish from Barker.
-
What is it with British refs at the minute.
-
I missed Eubank. What happened?
-
I missed Eubank. What happened?
Terry OConner went in to split them, then backed off and let Eubank carry on.Stopped it to early as well.
-
Ta.
-
The Itailan ref in the DeGale fight is at it now.Thought he heard the bell when there wasn't one.
-
De Gale could probably finish this, but he looks like he's enjoying it so much he'd rather fight twelve rounds of it.
-
Good opponent for him.
-
McGee down twice to body punches in the 2nd.
-
Another body punch all over.
-
Watched the British a couple of weeks ago, some pretty good action. They box over 5 x 3 minute rounds.
-
Pacman down in the 3rd.Great fight so far.
-
Marquez down in round 5.One of the best rounds of boxing you will see.
-
PAC man down and out at the end of round 6.One of the most sickening punches you will ever see. What a fight.
-
Great fight and a fantastic finish.
-
McGee down twice to body punches in the 2nd.
Probably not for me to question someone who has boxed at such a high level, but I'm not sure I have seen too many fighters operating at world level who are as susceptible to body shots as Magee seems to be. He went down after Kessler's first real attack to the body and then went down a number of times after. It was the same against Bute.
-
Impressive from Khan against a pretty average opponent.
