Given the fixtures in December I predict things to come to a head with Swansea at home.

And for those looking to attend the last game of the season, I'd set out now if I were you.

Title: Re: Fixtures

Well McLeish couldn't ask for an easier start. Fulham away followed by Blackburn and Wolves at home.  Opportunity for him to get off to a flier with 9 points on the board and quieten down the natives. Alternatively drop points and the knives will be out and it'll be a very long season
Title: Re: Fixtures
Post by: puppyfeat on June 17, 2011, 09:17:13 AM
McLeish must be the luckiest c**t alive - relegated but then lands a far better job on double the salary, and then gets Fulham away, Blackburn and Wolves at home as his first 3 games. Jammy fukker!

Two 'local' games for me in the first month, Fulham and QPR away

Surprised someone hasn't already predicted every single result and exactly where we will finish...
Title: Re: Fixtures
Post by: Villa'Zawg on June 17, 2011, 09:19:02 AM
I quite like the look of that, although I can't find the Blues games on there.

Relatively easy first dozen games and then Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool in 3 consecutive home games over 2 and half weeks in December.

Cool, 30 mins on the bike from home, August, beers by the river. In the 'neutral' end with loads of villa fans and a few chinese people.

Could easily go either way couldn't it? Could well envisage a pretty free flowing Fulham side making us question why on earth we didn't go for Jol. Equally, could envisage us keeping a clean sheet and nicking a goal or two from Bent, assuming we don't plan on just lumping balls into the corners for him to chase all game.
Title: Re: Fixtures
Post by: Drummond on June 17, 2011, 09:20:59 AM
Christmas/New Year looks shit but other than that it's really an uninspiring list of fixtures isn't it?

There's nothing in there that excites me to be honest. Either I really am falling out of love with Premier League football or I'm getting old. Most likely both.

I think it's only easy based some of the other teams in the league. You're basically trying to avoid any of last season's top 6/7 in the first few games. Anyone else is fair game.

Bollocks.  I really wanted to come over for Fulham away this year but can't do August.

Gvien we have a relegation specialist in charge I really don't like the look of our last 9 or 10 games from Easter onwards.  December looks like a Christmas ruiner as well.

The first two months or so don't look too bad though, so F-Eck needs to get off to a good start.

Don't know if I'm all that positive about the "easy" start. We've had more then a few awful games against inferior teams where we're due to control the game. Got Wigan all too close in memory. Now fans will demand us to win. Would prefer to start with the december clashes instead to remove a bit of pressure from McLeish.

And have fond memories of the last two games from last season.

Yes no doubt based on our form last season Fulham, Blackburn and Wolves must be shaking in their boots at the prospect of meeting us in one of their first three games!  Hope we do better but unbeaten with at lest one win would suit me, especially with a new manager and new signings bedding in.
