Title: Blackburn Rovers FA Cup
Post by: Dave Summers on January 13, 2011, 04:52:23 PM
According to their website it's Saturday 29th January at 1pm.  Prices for tickets haven't been announced and moved to early kick off due to Villa and Small Heath being at home on the same day.

No idea why we have had to move and presumably them lot stay at 3pm !!!!!!

Thanks a lot whoever decided that

blues v coventry on the same day, police will no doubt be behind it.
im sure those that will want to fight each other will spend the extra 2 hours in the pub anyway.

Didn't somebody mention that who ever is pulled from the hat first gets preference? So that's probably why we will have to move kick off times.

Can't see the ko time making much difference with any trouble on that day.

Is it confirmed that Blues V Coventry is later the same day?

This is madness. They both hate us, the even lower ticket prices for a 1pm KO will bring out all of our worst idiots, and give them 2 hours extra to get drunker and dafter than Blues and Cov's worst idiots.

Nightmare!

1pm kick off FFS, that means I can't make it.

My lad is playing in the morning in Cheltenham, 3pm can be a bit of a rush but 1 o'clock I've got no chance.

Amfy, yes it is. I suppose the thinking is that their game will kick off just after ours finishes and the police can spread resources and get our lot out of the way while their game is going on.

We have the same thing. My boy plays for a team in Macclesfield. 3pm is just do-able. Think I'll let him miss his match this time.

Tickets £20 cheapest, bit daft that. Should have been £10 or £15 at most. Expect crowd of 25,000 at best considering how many times we've played each other recently and early kick off.

All very well, but I can see trouble in the City centre pubs after.
It's a strange decision.

I think it will end in tears for the Police the matches should have been on different days and a 3pm ko for them is madness.

Yep, any Villa "fans" wanting to cause trouble will now have time to get back into town and have a few pints before the Sty empties.

I've always said to my lad that he's better off playing than watching, after I spent my best playing days with a season ticket at the Villa instead of going for the glory of the Martley Cup and the like.

That's for the league game in Feb isn't it?

Strange one by the police. 25k-30k at Villa, 15k-20k at Blues including 4k-5k Coventry, it will be kicking off in the city centre all day.

The thinking will be that the majority of SH and Cov supporters will be travelling while we are playing and then our lot will be travelling while their game is on.

There would have already been a big police presence in the city had it just been SH vs Cov anyway, so any trouble spots will be under the WMP beady eyes anyway.

City centre drinking probably isn't advised though.

If 20 quid is the cheapest we will struggle to get 25k

Why not make it a tenner and go for 40K????

Thats the league game.

I reckon it will be £15 before matchday, and £20 on matchday, and £10 increasing to £15 for kids. I hope it's just £10 and £5 to get a decent crowd in.

£20 for my seat, Im on the cup scheme.
I think they have concluded for this game that cheap seats wont bring many extra in. Whether they charge a fiver or twenty, it will be the hardcore 20,000 odd and thats it.

It will be a shit atmosphere, kicking off early and only 20,000 + there.

A reduction in prices might well have helped.

I agree.  It seems as though the entertainment value for us fans is way down the pecking order of priorities.  When will football clubs learn that it's better to have a full ground paying a small amount than a half full ground paying a large amount?

Guys we will get 30+ for this game, it's a Saturday game so will have a hardcore of around 34k in my opinion.

If it was a midweek game we would struggle but it's a weekend game
Instead of a league game.

Then again the best atmosphere for a game this season was Blackburn in the League Cup when it could be said only the hardcore were there!  Anyone else having problems purchasing their ST seat online, despite Villa saying you could purchase today I keep logging in and it won't work. F***** website.

Also the first chance to see Jean II Makoun and hopefully a new left back.
