Rory Jennings critique was more than just saying he’s a knob or a bell end with an attitude

It was a slow well thought out well articulated full on character assassination bordering abusive, well no not bordering it was fucking abusive about a 22 year-old boy.
Shameful really

I’ll be surprised if he’s not pulled up about it

Said it on here before, but I absolutely despise Jennings. He's part of that new breed of young, self aggrandizing, self satisfied wanks that are slaves to 'the discourse'. Part of that group of influencers who think a bit of ball knowledge and a few long words gives them the right to put down everything and anyone with insane fervor. It goes beyond histrionics.

He's a failed actor, which perfectly fits into his overly performative way of speaking.

He's going to be the first player in history that won't be picked because he's so great.

Me and my lad talked about this last night Andyh. I want him to succeed more almost because of the OTT hate, its really bizarre whats being thrown at him.

And in my view August to December 2023 was the most exciting period since Emery has been with us, literally blowing team away on the march to the top or near top of the league. Diaby was in that side

Yes the repsonse has been vile. Who calls a footballer whose crime is to have silly tattoos and daft hair "reprehensible". I am looking forward to this kid absolutely nailing it next season.

Indeed it’s insanely over the top.

We've had rapists playing football getting less grief. Its pathetic. Fuck the lot of them, Unai will deliver and this lad will be sat on your advertising boards.

All it takes is ****** like Jennings and Gabby being utter bellends and I’m fully on board. I now think he’ll smash it and Gabby will eating his words (probably with lashings of mayo - the fat bastard) by January.

It will probably help that he will be around grownups like Mings, Watkins and McGinn who have had to graft to get to the highest level. Proper role models.

I suspect the conditions for signing him permanently are very similar to Elliott. Also, there will have been a gentleman’s agreement at board level, so I suspect even if he’s Sancho quality, we will sign him.

A gentleman at Chelsea?

There is an oxymoron if I have ever seen one, up there with married life.

Just wait until he has a better season than Rogers. I can’t wait for the first Chelsea plastic to utter, “Should’ve just kept Garnacho”.

I can’t remember who made the comparison, but the idea that Garnacho doesn’t have a higher potential than Zaniolo is bizarre. He is a risk, feels like that’s overblown though and conclusions are being drawn without balance, but his upside is absolutely massive. If he gets anywhere near his potential he’ll be brilliant for us. Having a manager who believes in him could be a key enabler.

The fact that he could have joined us last summer and we have kept up our interest this year, even despite his less than fantastic form at Chelsea, should convince him he is wanted.

He'll be great and there will be a big discussion about who will sign him on a permanent deal at the end of the season, regardless of our option.

It’s not an option, we are signing him

It's a conditional obligation. So we might opt to not let him hit the conditions, see also Elliott. H.

But if he's great, then we're not going to do that? We'd carry on letting him be great and then sign him as per the agreement in place.

The original point I was trying to make, was that regardless of our option (obligation) that the stories will be about who is signing him. It'll be stories like ManU, Arsenal, PSG, Barca etc are interested. It was more a comment about the press than anything.

If he's great, we'll want him. If he's great, others will want him. He may want others and deals may be done.

He’s one of is now so we will support him defend him and pray he does well in the villa shirt

I saw on a SM reel today someone describing supporting your football team as a toxic marriage with no option for  divorce
