Is he really any better or worse than Diaby was?
he's probably no better than Zaniolo

Ha, that's just not true. Take a peek at this - his numbers in the final third are actually very good. One of the most progressive players in the league.

If he's as good for us as Diaby was I'll be thrilled.

Diaby was shite off the ball but I guess that's wingers for you. Zan used his frame at least. Diaby was piss-weak at times in physical challenges. Great finisher and pace in fairness. Hope he's enjoying his retirement.

Indeed, I’ve seen a few posts over the past week or so indicating that Diaby was crap, that’s not my recollection at all. I think, ideally, we would have kept him but the finances dictated otherwise.

I think this could turn out to be a rogers type signing.  Young and very high ceiling.  Think the stick he is getting will work in his favour.

Everyone wanted Mbaye, it still might happen, but what’s he done compared to Garnacho?
Won more trophies.

Ah the Djimi Traore defence!

He needs to be a damn sight better than Diaby, who was crap; why do you think we sold him so quickly?

Go back to what Emery said when he arrived. “ I have not come here to waste time”

From what I can see on transfer market site 16 goal involvements in 38 games, that’s a player new to the league. He had pace and a willingness to stretch play and get us up the pitch. Wasn’t he let go as not sure his heart was in it and it helped us with the finances.
For me there was no problem on the football side and I was looking forward to what he could do the following season, once he’d properly settled in.
