Our first european final in over 40 odd years and to those fans holding that flag, Villa were  just an afterthought.

In our first European final in 40-odd years a lot of our supporters were singing about Birmingham City.

I always find that very small time.

We've been signing "oh what a night" about us playing in Europe and the Blues being shite since Hibs.

Villa fans with England flags used to just have Aston Villa across the middle or their area name eg Erdington Villa. Now every quadrant seems to be filled with only one quarter to the club and the rest to any one of several war images.

I’ve noticed an increasing number of red hand of. ulster on flags too. It ramped up for the Celtic game last year. The 3 lions, war, poppy, military stuff is definitely more visible now.

I noticed a concentration of these type of flags in posts from Palace in Leipzig a few weeks ago  so maybe it’s a national trend. A mate told me the flag shaggers were actually fighting other Palace fans out there

"Lest we forget" indeed!

My mum served in the WAAF during WW2, and sold poppies for many years. These gutless scum are a big, stinking shit stain on her memory, and that of everyone who lost their lives fighting against the very poison that they espouse.
I wouldn't trust that any of that lot to fight beside me in the trenches 😡

I wouldn't trust them....period.

I wonder how loud they cheered when immigrants Youri Tielemans, Emi Buendia, and the descendant of immigrants Morgan Rogers scored for the team they claim to support?

We should just set fire to them on sight.

And the flags.

There's a nasty right wing element associated with Palace in Europe this season just gone, including fighting their own fans on occasion. Thankfully I've not been aware of it with Villa although it would be naive to think we don't have our share. Someone on here has said a couple of times they heard a Tommy Robinson chant on the train in Feyenoord although I didn't.

I find the use of remeberance imagery extraordinarily offensive, from white vans to trainers and "poppy Christmas" displays to football flags.

This sort of thing is far from new, I recall a "we hate Pakis" England Villa flag in the late 80's. I only saw it once and that was outside of the ground but I've never forgotten it. That element is there in ours and other clubs support unfortunately.

Somewhere between 10-15% of the country are racist c***s (a figure that's probably the lowest it's ever been, but it's still millions of people). Stands to reason that 10-15% of our support would be too.

The team that was largely founded and made great by economic migrants.
