He looks to have time on the ball which is usually a sign of class.

Some love drag backs from TJ
Theodore Carroll (or TJ to his mates) is the one that has surprised me. I thought we'd found gold with Cissé but Theodore just oozes class. The only negative I have for him is he's only 19. We need to get him our on loan but more importantly is it has to be the right club. none of this bollocks of sending to shitholes like Reading FC or the Baggies; find the right club with the right manager. TJ has everything to be a top, top central defender.

He really was a joy to watch.

Some lovely drag backs from our TJ HOOKER

Somebody mentioned the other day about how great it would be to have a real 'one of our own' in the side. TJ Carroll has been with us since he joined our Under 9s.

Doffing my cap to all the coaches at the club, past and present who have helped in his development.

I don't want to be 'that guy' but every pre-season, we eulogise some 16 year old who does really well, only to then see them either disappear from view, or get punted off to a league one side and then slip into irrelevance.

We have to be careful about hyping up youngsters but lets be honest, TJ is better than McGrath.

Are we okay with his brother, PJ, manufacturing cigarettes?

A lot of pressure on him following the performances of legendary T Carroll in 2019.

Andre Green seemed to have a lot of good pre seasons

Did Garnacho get injured today too?  Any updates on SJM's injury?

Any updates on SJM's injury?

He'll be assessed by the physios once he gets back from Nana Plaza.

I'd imagine that SJM will undergo an MRI scan to determine the extent of the knee injury. it didn't look good at all. The tackle was so unnecessary in a friendly.

Did think that in fairness, their player does try to pull his leg back.

Hope McGinn isn't too badly injured.

The player never really caught McGinn, the injury seems to happen as McGinn tries to jump the legs to go forward with the ball and when he landed awkwardly with his studs stuck in the grass and the momentum transferred to the knees instead. I dislocated a knee cap trying to do a reverse pass when my foot didn't swivel but my knee did.

Ha! You didn't even allow me to go full hyperbole and claim TJ has impressed me more than when I saw a spotty 17 year old come off the bench to make his debut for Sporting back in the summer of 2002. As already mentioned, I'm more concerned on how we develop him now and finding the right club for him.
