Nearly everyone is very reliant on one player though. France Mbappe, Spain Yamal, England Kane, Argentina Messi, Norway Haaland, Portugal (SR7 snigger).

France should cope better than anyone but if those star players don't perform the odds of winning drop a lot. France clearly have the best squad at the tourament but the best sides often don't win cups.

We've the potential for two stonkingly interesting semi-finals.

Yep, Argentina v Norway should be a cracker. Can't wait for Haaland v Messi :)

The Public Order Act requires the use or threat of violence such that a notional person of reasonable firmness would be in fear for their safety.

Thereafter it's mostly about numbers: 12 or more for Riot; 3 for Violent Disorder; otherwise Affray.

Riot also needs a 'Common Purpose'.

Anyone charged will likely be for Violent Disorder. Easier to prove.

I was on a jury 20 odd years ago for when trouble during the Millwall/Brum playoffs. They arrested someone a few years later (apparently he was known to the Police Spotters but had moved house so wasn't found straight away). Anyway the only video evidence they had was him shouting at the police whilst on his own and another clip with loads others they thought was him but defence expert witness stated the video wasn'r enough on the face and the coat looked different and the prosecution didn't really counter it.

So Riot was out as no definite proof and I think affray was the thing at the end.

A relative of mine was literally* 'read the Riot Act', failed to comply and was transported to Australia.

* and I mean literally in the sense of literally, rather than the now more common, literally in the sense of figuratively
