Is there no end to the number of gobshites in this team?

No. They are packed full of twats.

Cape Verde have truly passed into World Cup legend!

England aren't the only team to get out of jail in this tournament...

Disappointed, but slightly relieved not to have to face the unedifying spectacle of Emi shithousing Cape Verde in the penalty shootout!

I’d love to have seen him concede all 5

Yes. Argentina didn’t look as good as 4 years ago. It’s France’s to lose.

Cabo Verde have the consolation of joinng Ukraine and Slovakia in making it to the knockout stages at their only World Cup. Only the Republic and Ireland and the Netherlands have a 100% record of making it out of the group to the knockout stages at multiple World Cups.

I fancy Spain as the only team who could beat France.

Gutted. Remember thinking during the Cape Verde - Uruguay game that it was my favourite non-Villa game for years. Well, this game has just smashed that to pieces. And it ain't because of Argentina. And it wasn't because of Uruguay.

Nicely timed reminder of what makes football so special.

Woke up and watched extra time on the laptop without sound. It was like watching a France v Argentina final. France were the better team.

Tbf Argentina were pretty ropey for much of the tournament last time. Lost to the Saudis, scraped past Australia and blew a two goal lead twice along the way.

Cape Verde can hold their heads high. What a monumental performance. Such a shame they couldn't take it to pens. That would've been incredible.

What a game.
