Don't mind it. USA crashing and burning would obviously have been very funny, but it's probably a good thing for the tournament for all three hosts to start well.

Fuck that

Just watched the highlights and U S of A looked very good, very incisive. I immediately thought that Paraguay aren’t much cop but they said they had some good results in qualifying.

There are many useless teams in this tournament, and we have watched many of them already.
It reminds me of many decades ago, when you didn't begin to watch before the quarter finals.
Exactly. Given k-o times and the dross of the 48, save your beers for a while.

US couldn't even be bothered to score their first goal of the tournament themselves, had to get an immigrant from Paraguay to do it for them, smdh.

We need a list of WC wrong 'uns, starting with anyone thinking the US winning was in any way anything other than the worst thing to ever happen in the history of mankind.

Yeah, the only thing to vindicate the country is if Iran get a great reception in LA. Then I can have a bit of faith in the people at least. It's the only meaningful thing that's going to happen in the entire group phase. I tried to get on board with enjoying the Mexico opener, but it struck me that the atmosphere was pretty shit considering the occasion. Then saw the costs of the tickets and realised why.

But it's okay, poor people, you can watch at home. Stay in your houses where you belong and then get to work on Monday. Probs won't earn enough to cover your bills/do anything though. Soz. That one escape which you had, football at the weekend, and especially that once in a lifetime event, a World Cup in your country, isn't for you anymore. Get behind the glass and watch it from there.

But yeah, the US won. Cool. Good for the tournament.

Right, we need clear criteria for the wrong 'uns list.

I reckon anyone expressing pleasure at victories for countries who voted for an actual Fascist, anyone cheering for a country featuring a cheating Man U prick and a player who paid off his rape accuser and anyone cheering against the team featuring the current Villa captain should obviously be included.

Though I'm not sure if Mellin was joking in which case he may yet escape the list.

Haven’t you already created one list of wrong ‘uns in the kit thread?  I bet Paul Lambert loves your school of thought.

You can have more than one.

I might make a list of lists.

😂

The bit about the US winning? Definitely a joke. I hope they meet Iran in the last 16 (can that happen?) and get a hiding. I'd take that over England winning the World Cup right now.

I think a list of lists is imperative, we might then have a champion wrongun.
