England only WC please, we carry everyone enough as it is without piggybacking them for easy qualification.

You'll need the popularity of the Irish, Scottish and Welsh to get you over the line in the voting. There's a reason the US has been selected twice since England hosted it.

Does anybody know how much the clubs get for their stadiums being used in FIFA / UEFA cash-grabs tournaments?

I'm assuming we make something from EURO 2028.

There is some profit although UEFA pocket the lions share of earnings from tickets sold etc.

Edit: Just read more and realised you found out yourself.

Reason is that England are honourable and don't resort to bribe like those nasty Americans do.

Tournaments should be shared out though so I don't think England should get a World Cup any time soon, give someone else a chance.

Were it not for the lack of suitable stadia, a Scandi World Cup would be fun. Just like Scandi Eurovision is done in the right spirit, I reckon their football tournament would be done well too.

Games are highly policed there. When you’re queuing to get in and the police think you’re too pissed, they’ll pull you into an ambulance to do a test and if you’re over the limit you’re not allowed in. Same thing happens in pubs/bars too, but the bouncers decide when you’ve had too much and can deny entry if they want.

Killjoys! That won't happen when Ireland and Scotland are hosting.

Didn't know where else to put this but just seen an interview with Savo Milosevic on SSN. He spoke eloquently about the upcoming World Cup, including England's chances, then ended talking extremely fondly of our club.

At the moment the only game I'm excited about is Haiti v Scotland, mainly because it means I get to "stay up late" and it is giving me vibes of days of innocence long gone.

Yeah it was great, loved it when he said he was proud to have played for us and went on to say once a Villain always a Villain.

Seen that too. Hadn’t seen Savo for a while, he looks proper Balkan these days but good to hear him and see him talk so fondly about us.

Haiti have agreed to change their kit for the World Cup, after FIFA complained showing soldiers liberating them from the French was too political.

I'm the last person to be all "keep politics out of football", but that complaint...doesn't feel all that unreasonable.

And given it's the second time this year that it's happened (Haiti had to change the design of their ski suits at the Winter Olympics at the last minute for similar reasons), I'd imagine they did it expecting this to be the result.

I'm going to bed, then getting up again.
