It wouldn't be bonkers bearing in mind they have the biggest grounds and charge the highest ticket prices. Which is what FIFA care about.

Sadly, Argentina will probably never properly host a World Cup again.

USA hosting it 3 times since England, Italy or Argentina have would be bonkers. I know Argentina have 1 game in 2030 but that's just a token game.

I really doubt Argentina would be able to host a World Cup nowadays. A GB & Ireland World Cup would be great, and is long overdue. Euro 2028 being a massive success would help.

I mean bonkers from a football perspective, we know FIFA only care about money.

Does anybody know how much the clubs get for their stadiums being used in FIFA / UEFA cash-grabs tournaments?

I'm assuming we make something from EURO 2028.

England only WC please, we carry everyone enough as it is without piggybacking them for easy qualification.

Yep, England has more than enough to do a World Cup.

I've had a look, and apparently Villa will only get a modest rental fee for Villa Park being used in the EUROs.

UEFA get all the gate receipts and have their own deals in place for alcohol and catering.

What a surprise.  ::)

I bet we won't even get any tickets.

England really should have bid for the World Cup on their own and let Scotland, Wales and proper Ireland bid for the Euros. Fuck NI the ridiculous bigots.

Tournaments should be shared out though so I don't think England should get a World Cup any time soon, give someone else a chance.

Were it not for the lack of suitable stadia, a Scandi World Cup would be fun. Just like Scandi Eurovision is done in the right spirit, I reckon their football tournament would be done well too.

The sensible thing would be for England to host every tournament. Including AFCON etc.

Scandi Euros seems viable.

Sweden '92 was considered ridiculously expensive for fans, probably a cheap option these day.

Yeah, I can't believe we let control of global football elude us after inventing the bloody thing.  >:(

Yeah, if you can afford to spend a grand a ticket in Boston you can probably afford to pay twenty quid a pint in Malmo.
