Also didn't watch the game but feel that Bellingham is a better fit for this team when Kane is on, he tends to vacate the CF position leaving a big gap for someone to run into, and that's not the strongest point of MG's game. Yet.

I'm not so sure, I think it was telling that last night Rogers came on for Kane and played in front of Bellingham  for the 8-9 minutes they were on the pitch together. As I said Rogers running and movement is much better and that might be exactly what we need alongside Kane if he is going to drop into midfield.

At times in the first half our only real attackers were Gordon and Madueke with Kane and Bellingham both playing deeper and trying to be the playmakers. This is why I still think Bellingham is better as an 8, where he can do what he wants and be involved in everything without leaving us short of numbers further forward. I know he has had some really good performances at 10 but I think how he wants to play is better suited to being a little deeper. The problem then is that you have 3 centre mids who should be starting but because we want to play 4231 one of them has to miss out.

Well, it was fun to take my son to his first England game on the eve of a World Cup in our nearest city and his delight at Ollie scoring was a great moment.

Nice, I take it you now live in Florida rather than SoCal.

The election results are also determined a lot more quickly in Florida.

Germany's players will pay for 600 of the country's fans to travel by bus to their final World Cup group game amid criticism of high transport costs at the tournament.

Train tickets, normally priced at $12.90 (£9.50) from central New York to the nearby Met Life stadium in New Jersey, where Germany will play Ecuador in the last Group E match on 25 June, were ramped up to $150 for the tournament before being reduced to $98.

Shuttle bus fares, initially priced at $80 to make a similar journey, have been dropped to $20. The New Jersey governor has said the inflated prices are because Fifa has refused to subsidise transport expenditure.

"In light of the high cost of bus and train travel in New York during the World Cup, the German national team players have organised free transport to the final group match for 600 fans," said the German FA.

"Captain Joshua Kimmich and his team-mates are covering the cost of buses to take supporters from New York to the arena in New Jersey for the match against Ecuador."

At the World Cups in Russia and Qatar there was free transport available for fans to use to get to games and fan zones. The US had committed to offer the same perk in its 2018 host agreement.

In a tweak to the agreement, made in 2023, it was decided that supporters would be charged to travel at cost value.

We still won't have won the FA Cup by then.

They will almost certainly get 2038. Indeed, I think the reason why 2030 has been split across three continents was to guarantee that Saudi Arabia got it in 2034 and USA get it again in 2038 as those countries will generate the most money for FIFA.

The US is also co-hosting the 2031 Women's World Cup. Who knows which Nazi bellend will be in charge by then.

I see Infantino is just ignoring all the issues like he did in his pre-competition speech four years ago. Even telling the press to report about the good work Trump has done to ensure the World Cup has even happened...

I'm looking forward to the competition now, mainly due to the lack of competitive football recently.

As ever, I will cast an eye on the Opening Ceremony, but won't watch it all. Then I will settle down for the opening game, get bored before HT and start doing something else.

USA hosting it 3 times since England, Italy or Argentina have would be bonkers. I know Argentina have 1 game in 2030 but that's just a token game.
