In my prediction we play Argentina in the Semis. I look forward to Emi being the most hated man in the country.

I got that outcome as well originally, that was with England topping the group though. I think the group could be tight and we’re just as likely to finish 3rd, which, when I did it again, saw us knocked out by Portugal in the next round.

I don't fancy Portugal with old man Ronnie.

Just realised there is another ex-Villa player playing in the World Cup, playing for one of the minnows. Any idea who it is? 😁

They’d be better without him starting but still a strong team and a step up in quality compared to our usual opponents.

I noticed that a strong France team lost to Ivory Coast 2-1 on Thursday and Spain could only draw 1-1 with Iraq.

No sure how true it is but there are videos doing the rounds of turf being laid directly on concrete. If it turns out to be true there's going to be a few serious knee injuries.

They should have known better than to put Ron Vlaar in charge of the pitches.

Scored the goal that qualified them, so he's probably a national hero. Wonder if they know the Bad Manners song in DRC?

Edit: hang on, I've mixed up Tshibola and Tuanzebe.

For any fans who do attend in 30 to 40C heat, they have decided that bringing your own water bottles to the stadium is a no-no.

Tuanzebe? Trezeguet? Nyland? Chukwuemeka? Gueye? Bacuna?

He's not an ex-player.

Looking through the World Cup squads, I quite like that Tunisia have a player called Hannibal.
