Never heard of poutine let alone tried it but having looked, it does sound nice, but anything with lamb in would win the day.

If you try it, make sure you have the good stuff with cottage cheese.

Have thrown together a poutine in honour of this thread as the staying up late snack.

The right answer to the cheese question (given you can't get fresh cheese curds over here easily) is lightly sautéed halloumi. So that it's warm, soft but not browned - nothing else gives the necessary squeakiness.

FIFA will stop at nothing, even going so far as to pay H&Vers to shill for them and claim it was a penalty. Sad times.

I think not showing the ref the pertinent replay was the most suspect act.

Yes, the ref should have been shown the replay from that angle, even if the decision should still have been a penalty. Which begs the question, why was he not shown it?

Because they want Brazil to stay in the competition. Balogun part II.

You don't need to do it that blatantly. All the stuff about "why is Fifa always focused on everything Not Europe?" is for this.

If you're an African / Middle Eastern/ Caribbean FA and you think the Fifa guy is on your side and able to keep you in jollies and funding and expanded World Cups, you vote for him.

Yep, and it's heavily weighted in favour of the incumbent, anyway. If you're sitting in a swimming pool full of cash you don't want to rock the boat and risk an honest candidate claiming power.

Ffs the one time I want an Arsenal player to score he absolutely fannies it straight at the keeper.
Odegard is a waste of space.

He works so hard for the team. Ad nauseam..

That might be the worst shot of the tournament.

folarin balogun steps onto the pitch. he's got a new celebration– six-shooter finger guns! wait, those are real revolvers! he guns down the entire belgian side in the first minute & trump lands marine one at midfield to present him with an official pardon and the medal of honor. he is then deported

Few people having fun with this situation now. Sam Freedman: “The positive of Balogun is it's the first time a Republican has intervened to reduce a black man's sentence.”

I'm not saying the defender didn’t get a touch on the ball. I'm saying he brought the forward down. The forward can still get to the ball if he's not fouled.

Fair enough. I think he knocked it out of his path.

What do you think of them not showing the ref the angle where you could clearly see that the defender played the ball?

They have multiple angles so just showing one is strange but I would expect the outcome to be the same. If he booted the ball clean out for a corner he might have a case.

I am glad he missed the penalty though.

Endrick should have buried that. His second touch was dreadful.
