I'm glad it was a red, but pretty sure it shouldn't be a red.

And they thought the Somali ref was going to cause trouble!

Blimey, another red card.  The person they keep going to, to ask her opinion is only ever going to stick up for the referee.  I can understand why this one was a red, the slap one was a farce.

Jeez.  If that's a red then there's not many games that are going to finish 11 v 11

Foul, yellow. That's all.
No way was he scoring from there.

Yeah, agreed . I hate those types of cynical fouls, but looked like there were defenders to cover.

This ref was the one for England vs France at Qatar 22. I remember thinking he was a twat then, but can't remember why - and that despite giving England 2 penalties.

I thought all three red cards today were soft though.

I thought it was a red, it was a goal scoring opportunity and the Mexican deliberately took him out.

Are South Africa the international version of Small Heath?

In that they’re shit, have an almost empty trophy cabinet, and they seem to have co-opted the name of half a continent that they absolutely do not represent?

To be fair, Small Heath probably do represent Small Heath

I'd say a 70/30 yellow, but in that situation, 30% of the time it's a red.

And this was one of those.

I've just seen all the decisions and I don't really think any of them are that egregious. Knife edge decisions that wouldn't be overturned, another ref may have made a different call but all understandable, for me. I know I remember really not liking this ref but I can't remember why.

When they originally decided that stopping a goal scoring opportunity was a red, I expected more of those types of offence to receive the red, I am for this interpretation of the law.
