Quite enjoyed the Ecuador / Germany game. The Ecuador manager looks like an Austin McPhee tribute act.

Yeah, was a good game. First time I've watched them, but Ecuador were decent. What was that Curaçao draw all about?

The beauty of that Caniggia challenge was that the second “tackle” ( in reality, GBH) came from a defender who was off screen so you had no idea it was coming. It’s one of my favourite non Villa moments and an absolutely glorious passage of play

Circumstances at the time add so much to football. I watched that match in a spit and sawdust boozer in Newcastle having just that day done the last of my final exams at university. Watched the match surrounded by pissed up single-toothed Geordie piss heads.

One of them kept on walking around the pub, shaking people, pointing at the telly and saying "It's the Cameroons (sic) man, they're better than Brazil!".

Ever since that day, 36 years later, every single time I hear Cameroon referred to in the context of football, in my head i hear a Geordie voice saying "They're better than Brazil!".

Looks like Lindelof is in midfield for Sweden.
Back to centre half after that injury?

Considering Isak and Gyökeres cost the best part of £180 million, they haven't done a lot.
